chronic lumbago
Signed up for the private beta but was declined unfortunately. They confirmed a public beta though but the exact date is yet to be announced. They completely nailed the looks of this game. It looks fast and brutal, just like Dragon Ball itself. Didn't really like Xenoverse 1 that much and skipped Xenoverse 2. It looks great but I hope there's enough meat on the bone. I never bother with fighting games and never can play them in longer sessions as they leave me bored after a few rounds. Hopefully there's a good story mode and diverse singleplayer modes. I also prefer traditional 1v1 rather than tag team. Another thing that bothers me a little is balancing. I understand they're making a video game so the characters need to be about equally good but SSB Goku could easily take down characters like Krillin with 1-2 hits. Kaiju Blue
Played the closed beta for a while last week. I typically don't play proper fighting games at all, so I was terribly unfamiliar with the controls for the most part, but even then the presentation and the satisfaction whenever I actually did manage to pull off some sh*t kept drawing me back in. So, even as someone who isn't a fan of fighters, I had a blast with this game. I dunno if it's gonna be a 100% guaranteed purchase for me when it comes out, but if it has Super characters as well it might come damn close. yungsmokex and Ivan1997GTA

chronic lumbago
Season pass will contain 8 new characters, SSB Goku + Vegeta shortcut access, private pre-release beta if preordered, anime soundtrack and developer commentary and two exclusive avatars or ingame icons for your profile, which is a bit pricey if you ask me. 115 euros for the whole package. Games here cost 70 euros if digital and 60 in most retail stores. That's the ultimate edition. There's also a 100 euro edition but the store page didn't say what it contains. I ain't spending 115 euros on a fighting game. That's twice the standard price.
Typhus
Does anyone know if Zamasu will be in the game? I really hope they make an effort to include some obscure characters. Garlic Jr., for example, has barely been in any DBZ games. I'd love to see Babidi, too, because he might be a little sh*t, but it would actually be a pretty cool fighting style to use this tiny Wizard as he float around casting spells. Honestly, this looks like the kind of DragonBall game I've always wanted. For how much I love the series, the more recent games have strayed too far from the traditional fighting game formula, so too often you're flying around rather than actually, y'know, fighting. They're almost unplayable. So this looks like it's right up my alley.
Coin
Devs have said they're aiming to have a relatively small roster compared to most other Dragonball games in recent times, so I wouldn't expect much in the way of those obscure type characters. I'm guessing the final roster will end up being like 24 characters + the 8 the season pass will add. This page has an up to date roster - 18 so far. Richard Power Colt
As far as DB Super goes I'd maybe expect them to add Hit, some mix of Black and Zamasu as well as Beerus.

Typhus
Thinking about it, I really wish this game had something like the fatalities in Mortal Kombat. There are so many deaths on the show, that you could easily turn them into grisly finishing moves and it wouldn't feel out of place. I mean, this is the same series where people get chopped up into little pieces, impaled, or have their brains kicked in. But in most of the games, this element of DragonBall is missing. Richard Power Colt
Well there are destructive finishes. If you kill a character with a super move it might blow up the map.
Coin
Environmental destruction of some variation is one of the big must haves for me personally when it comes to Dragonball fighting games; just one of those things that makes it feel more thematic considering how present it is in Z (and beyond) as a method of emphasizing just how powerful the fighters are. The lack of this in the Xenoverse titles (as an example) always bothered me (I only really played them for the CAC stuff). Unrelated, but does anyone else find the alternate costumes to look rather bad in comparison to the regular stuff? Richard Power Colt
I imagine they'll announce Roshi next along with maybe some characters from Super.
Coin
The only way I see Roshi getting added to the roster is if they do a Dragonball themed character pack. Devs have said they want to appeal to fans of all eras though, so such a pack is a possibility (jackie chun alternate costume anyone?) and along those lines, despite GT's general mediocrity, I'd be all over a Super 17/Baby Vegeta/Omega Shenron character pack.. heh. I think you're probably on the money as to who the remaining fighters will be (from a previous post). Hit, Beerus & Rose/Zamasu makes the most sense to me anyway. I'd bet money on the first character pack being ToP themed too, with Caulifla, Jiren and uh.. someone else.
Richard Power Colt
I do think they might add Roshi before any DLC, because he's always been a part of the series and we get to see him fight in Super as well. Idk how it would work, but I imagine he would have mafuba as his level 3 super move. As far as a DB themed character pack goes, I'd love to see them add Mercenary Tao, King Piccolo and Kid Goku(and hell even General Blue tho I doubt that'll happen). chronic lumbago
^^They could make evil containment wave an attack only available for at least 2v2 matches. Does this game even have 1v1? Roshi could be a very weak character compared to the others, however his special attack would always instant kill one of the enemies. I would like to see some Super characters too but I wouldn't mind if it's just a few of them in DLC. I'd love if they did DB Xenoverse 3 completely based on Super. Maybe even make some sort of brand new multiversial storyline. Edited November 17, 2017 by fashion

Coin
Looks like Black & Zamasu will be similar to 17 & 18. At least base on the V-Jump scans. Plus it makes sense and IMO is better than just having Black on his own.

Johan
Open beta announced for the 14th and 15th of January. What hyped me the most was that they included Rose and Gotenks. I'm 90% sure that this is the final roster, but if they actually announce more in the next 3 weeks then surely these guys really deserve my money

Tech-Noir
Hopefully the beta will be playable. The private beta was horribly executed. I was able to join 3 matches within a time span of I'd say 4 hours. Other than that, I had a lot of fun within those three matches even though I didn't know what the hell was going on. And since I only got 3, I couldn't figure much out within such a small time span.

Kaiju Blue
The open beta still has its issues, having a hard time joining matches. At least this time they actually included the tutorial mode so I can actually kinda know what I'm doing when I do manage to find a match... Also, Beerus is super fun. So glad they added him.
