Legion of Hell

Which GTA that has best PC port? Either from optimization, features, or other

Mine would be GTA V, run at 60 fps easily with ultra graphic. The delay definitely worth waiting

My work computer gets 30fps on absolute lowest settings for GTA IV. Not a great port to say the least.

V definitely. Considering the dimensions of the game, it can run on any toaster (and even smoothly sometimes).

Yeah, GTA V has to get the credit for this. Before I even used an eGPU for my laptop, it was able to run it pretty smoothly on low settings with an integrated potato graphics card, lol.

GTA V. I don't like the graphics, but it runs smoothly.

If I recall correctly every PC port was pretty good, with IV being the exception. IV's PC version was horrendous during the release.

Obviously GTA IV has the best port, everyone wants a cinematic 24fps experience remember

Wait.... Really can I vote for GTA IV/EFLC? I can't run them at a stable 60 fps even on lowest settings (with a GTX 970 + i5 4440 + 16 GB RAM) :panic:

For me GTA V is the best PC port, even if it's not perfect... Surely better than GTA IV. Also GTA SA has a good PC port, but I can't say the same for GTA III/VC (over 60 fps the game is broken)

1) GTA V

2) GTA SA

3) GTA III/VC

...

...

...

6782835647625156) GTA IV/EFLC

GTA V is a big improvement over IV's port, but there's still issues with it, for example, it will stutter horribly for me.

All 3D GTAS have better and remastered ports on consoles.

GTA IV & EFLC are extremely bugged on PC. Sometimes, the skin of the characters is not visible, parts of vehicles go missing, same happens sometimes with the land.

In TBOGT, in MOMMA'S BOY mission, Luis goes dead after the cage fight.

AND THE CONNTROL RESET BUG IS THE WORST ONE FOR IV & EFLC ON PC!!!!!!!!

And, PC has the best graphics for GTA V, video options and stuff.

Definetely GTA V has the best PC port ever!

The second place came to GTA Vice City, almost as the same as PS2

The third came to GTA San Andreas, because most PS2 textures are missing

The worst is GTA IV, how crappy it was. barely reach 30fps on my Friend PC powered by AMD Ryzen :|

In terms of improved graphics and added features that wasnt in their console versions, then its...

1.GTA V

Rockstar added a lot of new features and improved the graphics of GTA V tremendously in it's PC port.

2.GTA 4

Hold up Im not comparing their performance yet,I'm comparong first their added features and improved graphics.Rockstar also improved GTA 4's graphics amazingly and also added video editor for the first time in a GTA game.

3.GTA VC

Now on this one Rockstar removed a lot of things from the console version such as neon lights on the side of the malibu club, smoke grenades,etc... but they also added a lot of new things.

4.GTA 3

Its meh.... Rockstar justed ported over to the pc with slight adjustments.

5.GTA SA

This one though,Rockstar removed a whole lot of things from the consoles like the orange tint during noon, stuff in Las Venturas, blur in the helicopter blades and many more.

But in terms of performance

1.GTA V

2.GTA VC

3.GTA SA

4.GTA 3

5.GTA 4

Not really... Not in 2017 with all these patches.

I never understood what was so bad about IV & EFLC's PC port becuase I never played it properly. I once installed it on my work laptop for sh*ts and gigs, and got a smooth 30FPS out of it on lowest settings (considering my laptop had a crappy Intel HD Graphics Card, and only 4GB RAM, that's freakin' amazing!) I've also watched YouTubers such as GTASeriesVideos and Badinfos run the game at 60FPS consistently. Can someone tell me what's so bad about it?

Also, a bit off topic but I need help because I don't know anything about PCs. A tech store called MSY is building me a PC, these are the specs from memory:

AMD Ryzen 5 1600X

GTX 1070 8GB

16GB RAM

Watercooled

Will this rig run IV at 60FPS consistently?

(This isn't a joke or me being sarcastic, I don't know sh*t about PCs apart from the bare minimum, and I am looking forward to GTA IV + EFLC)

Thank you guys, any help is appreciated.

It's really hit or miss whether or not it will run smoothly. People with really good PC's often struggle to get stable FPS with it. It was a very lazy console port.

With GTA IV most of the times is only luck... In my case I can't run it maxed out (even at high) at 60 FPS with a GTX 970 + i5 4440 on Windows 10, but I could run it over 60 FPS maxed out on Windows 7 with also ENB with a GTX 650 with only 1 GB of Vram... And when I was over 60 FPS with 1.0.7.0 patch I tought the last mission was just impossible

GTA V is so well optimized, it ran fine (well, enough to be playable) on my old laptop with an intel HD 4000, while GTA IV straight up refused to launch on that computer. I can't really comment on any of the older games because even bad modern hardware is good enough to brute force any optimization problems away

GTA V has the most well optimized PC port, well worth the wait. I just dislike the "periodic entitlement verification" on the internet thing.

GTA IV has poor optimization but there were a few good new features like the video editor. Games For Windows Live is utter garbage.

3D era GTAs had alright performance but the physics are broken at high frame rates. Also some PS2 features were missing like the rain reflections, the car headlight glow in GTA III, Malibu Club neon lights in VC or the moon phases, helicopter rotor blur and Las Venturas objects in SA but fortunately these can be fixed with mods.

VC

III was a bit laggy and blurred on the PC

SA lacks the PS2 orange tint

IV was a disaster with keys not working, extreme lagginess, overdone security and constant up-dates (which to be fair fixed most of these problems eventually). Remember how the company who did the DVD security feature released an official no-disc executive 2 days after the launch to fix log in problems? Classic.

V was made to run on consoles, so looks very bland and empty on a PC

5, just because it was ported with care for the PC. Kinda weird to think that GTA Online very likely had a reason for that but hell as a single player fan I ain't complaining
