Because you are behaving like a d*ck and people do not like that.

You gain nothing from "destroying your competition". So all your doing is ruining other people fun to boost your e-peen.

As I already stated, it is literally promoted to do such with prompts that pop up, on the screen mind you, and in big bold letters even, telling you to "destroy the competition" (maybe not those exact words, but it's implied). Anyone doing so is quite literally playing exactly as the game was intended. So, I'm being a dick because I'm playing the game the way Rockstar designed it?

Yep, obvious troll is obvious.

Yep, cause everyone who first joins a Fourms is a troll. Does that mean when you made your first post on here that you were being a troll?

There will be plenty of people who will tell you playing like this is being a dick but f*ck em who cares, its just a game. Play it how you want.

Hey, I haven't even read what's been said..

try not to get involved in too many "discussions" around here.. all I know is it takes quite a while of being here before you seem to be allowed an opinion, and even then you gotta be ready for people to jump all over it..

Speaking for myself, maybe I should try to make my opinions more clear, to avoid confusions but I am trying.

I usually only get this message after a fight in which I ignore it but I have received it immediately after joining a session with few people in it and in this case I'll usually leave.  I'm not wasting time being salty.  I have money to make and staying might make them want to destroy my stuff.  I wouldn't change it.  As you can see by some of these responces some people deserve to be kicked.

Stuff that, no-one owns a lobby and this kind of self entitled behaviour annoys me. If I get put in a lobby and immediately start to get vote kicked because someone's decided they want it to themselves the first thing I do is start Haulage to prevent the kicking, call up my Akula and give them exactly what their entitled little arses don't want for the next 20 minutes.

Yep. Just because something is permited and/or promoted that does not mean doing it isn't considered dickish behaviour.

You choose to do what you do. The game does not tell you what to do, it offers you an option.

The game only tells you to do stuff when you cant progress further without reaching the objective. For example "Reach the waste disposal." or "Open the vault door." These are instructions since the game wont progress unless you finish these objectives. Stuff like "X is transporting cargo, go and blow him up." aren't instructions since you can ignore them yet still progress further without blowing X to bits.

These are simply just options. Options you can choose to do or ignore. And like with everything in life, each choice has consequences. In your case people considering you a dick for blowing their hard earned cargo to bits and kicking you. Thats what the kick feature is there for. Getting rid of players that the majority of the lobby considers dicks.

In my experience, it is usually a case of two or three players going around the lobby begging everybody else to add their votes so that there are enough to kick the unfortunate player. I get these messages myself, I usually ignore them.

A game which promotes and encourages a mode of gameplay that then provokes others to use the also-included kick feature to counter it is just a crazy situation all round I say.

It's as simple as this. Dick moves or not, if you can't handle playing an online PvP game, don't play. If you can't handle people playing the way the game was intended to be played, don't play. If you don't like getting beat, don't play PvP. Go to a private session, lag out session, or invite only session. Otherwise, get your band of crybabies together and go tell Rockstar to redesign their game based around how and what you want it to be. See how well that goes for ya.

Well it shows how unbalanced this game is and how stupid the whole cargosystem is designed from a gameplay perspective.

Lots of firepower vs weak defenseoptions simply does not work well.

If ya cant handle getting kicked, dont play or avoid being a dick. Works both ways.

Btw. its not an online PvP game, its an online sandbox. There is a diffrence between CoD Multiplayer and GTA online.

Also when you say "If you dont like getting beat, don't play PvP you do realise that A) Cargo is only avilable in public sessions and B) thats the very reason they are kicking you (As in, you want PvP, they dont, so they kick you, to not have to do PvP with you.).

Its always funny when the people who call others "crybabies" are the ones who are currently crying because others do not want to put up with their PvP shenanigans and show them the door.

Do you realize that, by doing just that, you're proving them right for trying to kick you in the first place?

There really should be PRIVATE servers, and/or CO-OP ONLY servers AND ALLOW BUSINESS MISSIONS in them. The moronic PvP only encourages the cheaters and grievers.

I will occasionally unload on a crew that tries to kick me. I will start Hostile Takeover or something then give them a pasting for the full 30 minutes. The irony is, I would leave them to do their deliveries if they only had the courtesy to just ask for room before going straight to kick.

Whatever you feel is a good use of your time bro...I use the limited time I have to play making money...Should hit 200m tonight...I never allow myself to be distracted.

Maybe I was young lived at home and had no wife and child/Responsibilities I’d be able to consider wasting my time like that but I at least waste my time playing games productively.

My only exception is people asking for money drops as it’s too funny messing with them.

You can predict future updates?

I don’t need any money right now except to buy bunker supplies and the 25k to setup my casino heist each day but I want to never have to worry about money and to enjoy all the content that could potentially be added.

They could create a genuine 1%er thing where they charge 100m for something outrageous for example.

Nah. I’m of a mind these days that each DLC is just like the one before, and apart from the odd vehicle, I’m not that fussed about them. I’ve pared back all my vehicles and just keep the ones from each class that are worth racing. I’ll only buy new vehicles if they are thought to be the new race winner for that particular class.

It would be nice to get some new aircraft. Smuggler’s Run wiped my modest fortune out because I had to have the Tula and Mogul and the hangar, I’ve never really made it back since and I don’t care either.

I know what you're saying, but the other day I was minding my own business miles away from anyone in passive aswell and I got this message, some people are using it for maybe the wrong reasons? Wasn't a case of just trying to get the room to themselves either for work purposes, there were way too many people in the room. Maybe just a random weirdo.

I don’t think I would mind so much but for the bad sport points increase and the message which directly orders you to “improve your behaviour”

Sometimes it’s like “Hang on a minute, I have just got here, I haven’t even had f*cking chance to do anything yet!“

The other thing that tits me off is that being kicked seems to screw with my connection, often leaving me in the clouds forever trying to find a new session. I usually get the timed out / error joining a session messages.

Also, I often don’t even get any notification that I am being voted, I just get the message that my connection has been lost. It’s a crappy, painful system.

There should be penalties for kick abuse.

Well what I meant was, "Don't behave like a dick and destroy other peoples cargo, then other people are less likely to kick you.".

Sure sometimes you just get a random pop up that someone wants to kick you. Happens a lot when you are very high level (in my case past 700). However these will do jacksh*t even if you get them daily.

Depends how you look at it. In normal play I do not go of my way to interfere with others' gameplay without provocation so to be judged guilty as a griefer as soon as I get put in a lobby kind of rubs me up the wrong way & it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy for them. If they don't try to vote kick me out of their lobby they will find I am happy enough to be put in a quiet lobby and go about my business in tandem with them.

When other players come after me for whatever reason and I will retaliate with all gloves off, whether that is unprovoked attacking my character with weapons or by vote kicking. If they're particularly arseholey (i.e. griefers not vote kickers) I will "friend" them so when I feel like a bit of PVP I can end up in the same lobby at some point in the future while they're trying to do stuff other than griefing and give them a taste of their own medicine.

Same here. It rubs me up as well. I get why they do it, but that doesn't make it any less galling when those notifications appear. It just feels so precious and entitled, and immediately gets my hackles up.

As you say, they then instigate the very thing they are trying to avoid, which is to get a sound thrashing for their presumptuous behaviour.

And so the beat goes on...

I mind my own business so when the vote to kick comes up it always ends the same way: a Fully Loaded Ruiner and lots of explosions.

i rarely get the vote kick notification myself. i'm a nice player. if i'm in a big lobby, i don't even worry about it. unless the person who wants me out, messaged a substantial amount of other players in the lobby, to also kick me, the vote won't work. if i join a small lobby(10 players or less), i sometimes notice the vote kick notification seconds after i joined. it's usually because i'm Rank 700, and the standard, general Noobie player thinking is that higher Ranks are all troublemakers. they want the lobby to themselves to do their business stuff, or whatever. i understand their logic, no matter how unfair. that is fine. however when being vote kicked in smaller lobbies, i also take a screenshot of the players in my lobby. if i get kicked, then i report all of them for cheating. if i should tolerate their logic, they should tolerate mine. :)

I can understand wanting to kick griefers but it's pretty dickish to kick people who are minding their business and trying to sell their cargo.

To further elaborate: GTA Online is a very silly game and of course I behave differently here than I do IRL. That said, any unprovoked attack by another player will result in me dropping whatever I am doing to make it my life’s purpose to pester them. Relentlessly.

Well, they're giving him a reason to not mind his own business, so it's not his fault.
