So you're fine with the music sounding the same across all the stations all across the world? That just seems really lazy and you're missing a good chance to capture the type of electronic music within that part of the world. Even if you don't like gabber or happy hardcore or whatever, I'd rather listen to that as opposed to one of the five generic EDM stations

I did the USA previously with different genres of EDM, and I wanted to do something different this time: What is the most popular right now, and FYI, it's pretty generic out there. And the popularity is from official charts around the world, which had a lot of the same songs, so I really had to pick and choose so I didn't pick the same ones. And you might know this already, but I like rock and metal, so to me it isn't such a big deal.

I mean it would be nice if you put the same amount of effort into the non rock and metal stations as you do the rock and metal stations. Like I've been there too, where I want to put more effort into X because I like X more than Y and Z but you can't cheap out the reader like that and just go from what's good on the charts because it's just gonna make you look lazy.

So you're contradicting yourself. Are the radio stations supposed to be lazy and repetitive and "satirical" or are they supposed to be varied? "the EDM stations aren't even available at the same time.", what does this mean?

Dude, you're negative. I was referring to pop and EDM stations when I said they sound alike. Other stations were not done with official charts. Let go of your anger, and you'll feel much better. I know I do. And GTA III included a satire channel called head radio, remember. If you would have read the topic, you could have noticed what I was talking about EDM stations, it reads right uder the heading RADIO STATIONS. Please let's keep the discussion civil.

But Head Radio's music wasn't lazily selected with stuff on the top of the charts just because whoever was picking out the music preferred rock and metal.

 

I'm only saying, if you're gonna make a concept about the world then you're missing a good chance to showcase different electronic music from around the world just by cheaping out and giving an excuse that equates to LOOOOL MUSIC GUYS ARE LAZY SO ALL THE MUSIC SOUNDS THE SAME. Dont use that as an excuse either because I haven't seen a radio station in the present that played nothing but funk and old 80s punk and reggae (all music genres that were covered in V's stations, going to show that you can have music that doesn't chart in a game)

in the UK one of the biggest radio stations is RINSE.FM that covers all kind of underground club music. also, BBC Radio 1 plays it on daily basis aswell. this country was a homeland for hundreds of worldwide famous rock artists, and thousands of talented people from young generation. actually its the truest soundtrack for the GTA.

Jefferson (state)= Lincoln or Roosevelt (one of the greatest presidents aside from Washington)

Detroit= Carcer City (R* addict)

Michigan= Mascouten (one of the Algonquian tribes that inhabited Michigan before 17th Century)

Canada= St. Lawrence (the word Canada goes from St. Lawrence Iroquoian language) or Dominion (Canada was referred to as Dominion of Canada until WWII)

easier would be to say "sorry, I dont have any knowledge about ambitious and good electronic, can you help" instead of "all electronic (although you only mentioned EDM) sounds the same"

Reno: Jean Reno starred in "Ronin" along with Robert De Niro. --> Reno = Ronin (sounds similar, while meanig is different)

Washington: Jefferson, because Thomas Jefferson is the president mentioned by R* the most.

It's never said that Carcer city is Detroit. It could be Camden NJ instead - and that's what I have.

I'm happy with Merigan, which is not just Michigan btw.

I'm also happy with Cadana, like I said before, but clever names none the less.

 

I'd prefer if you could think names for the ones I haven't yet changed, but thanks anyways for suggestions.

It would also have been nicer if you would have started like this: " Hey killdrivetheftvehicle, I think you could do better with the EDM stations, please let me help you..." And also "Have you checked out 'this and this" genre, which I think would fit right in this concept"

Having read over this topic, more so the last page or so, killdrivetheftvehicle, the idea, it's ambitious, I'll give you that.  But, when you aim for something ambitious you've got to be able to take some comment and critique and bear in mind that this is coming from people who are providing this input to help... not hinder you.. From what I've seen it's been quite dismissive.

 

Having said that to those who are contributing, then please be more civil and if you feel that your assistance isn't being accepted, then walk away, there's no need to be confrontational, or posting sarcastic responses.

It's just a though experiment, of what it could be, if R* ever GTAed the World. I do take suggestions, but I don't quarantee that any will be taken aboard. I'm not sure I want to change any of the things, so those suggestions should  be very convincing and something I feel that this thing needs. I'm not a modder, and I don't want to start. Having said that, I don't oppose, if someone wants to use the map or any of the ideas in a mod of theirs. And with that, feel free to post.
