Quite clever. But I need an alternate name for every European City I have on the map, before I can change any of them. So Hector=Paris, but what would e.g. London be?

London can stay as it appeared in GTA universe with its original name

Also, Da Nang is a real city in Vietnam and there are Dan Nang Boys gang in San Fierro so not every place has to change name

Unless you really need to change names, i might help you but i'm not always that creative, i also have my own concepts/projects i'm working on

No, I don't need to, but I'm willing to change them, if I get a valid suggestion for each city. I think GTA HD Universe World is: America according to the British, and the rest of the world according to the Americans, interpreted by the British.

I think this concept is finished, but if someone has any suggestions for the concept, I'm willing to consider changing something. And if R* keeps bringing more vehicles to online, I keep adding the ones I want.

First of all, thanks for posting in the topic. It's always nice to see someone dedicating time and effort with trying to invent names for countries and cities. However, I think I'm changing the names only when I have an alternate name for every real life city I have on the map. But until then, all suggestions are welcome. Could you elaborate on how you came up with these names?

From all info of the places, like Mexico, they like celebrating the dead, and dead is muerto in spanish, which we can say that's how i got it's name, muertosa.

OK, but I think that the cultural event "dia de los muertos" is enough for that theme. What about the other names, how did you invent them?

USA- Columbia= because of Cristopher Columbus, founder od America

Sicily- Sudest= Because it's in the southeast of Italy

Mexico- Muertosa

El Salvador- El Salvatore= Salvatore Leone

Canada- Queenleaf= I just randomly thought it

Puerto Rico- San Pedro= La Puerta, which is based on San Pedro(GTA V) 

Dominica- Sarvuela= randomly thought of it

France- Francoise= random thought

Germany- Allemania= Spanish for Germany

 

Cities:

Madrid- Candava= random thought

 London- Crown= Queen Elizabeth wears a crown

New York- Liberty City

Seattle- Ciato= silent l in the pronounciation of Seattle and then manipulate the spelling

Mexico City- Ciudad La Muerto= they celebrate the dead

Rio de Janeiro- Rio de Oro= Rio is Gold 

Buenos Aires- Argentina Nuevo= Nuevo means new in spanish

Venice- Vienetta= random thought

Vienna- Sausaga= Vienna Sausage

Barcelona- Charlemagne= random thought

Columbia sounds too much like Colombia, so that's out

sicily is actually southwest of italy, so sudest is out

muertosa out (check my previous post)

El Salvatore is too close to the original, so out it's just italian for savior, while the original is spanish. the country should be called El Redentor and the capital should be called San Pastor (names after Jesus Christ)

Queenleaf could be Queenleafia instead, but I like Cadana better

San Pedro doesnt sound like it's puerto rico, and I like my Porto Bautista better (after John the babtist, which San Juan is named after, and the history of the name changes between the city and the country)

Sarvuela doesn't appeal me (btw it's Dominican republic. Dominica is another island country), and I have a perfect name for it, since it comes from the founder of Dominican republic, Mr. Duarte.

Francoise is a french woman's name of no importance to france, I could think of a better name that actually is linked in the history of france: Jeanne D'Arc or the english version Joan of Arc that was burned at the stake in england.--> Arcania perhaps?

Germany is called allemania in french also, and I don't like it. I think it should be called something that is not it's name in any language, but is about the country, like the war general in WWI Otto von Bismarck --> Bismark (sounds similar to denmark)

 

Cities

Candava is out. How about Garcia (the most common surname in Madrid)?

Crown is out, it's too simple and not portraying the city. I think london should be called Windham (as a mixture of the windsor castle and Buckingham palace, the queens residences)

Liberty city is fine, I thik I'll change it back

Ciato sounds good, although I don't know if it means something in some language, do you?

Ciudad la muerto is out, check previous post, and I have a good name for it, Moctezuma (Montezuma in english, the chief of the aztechs at the time when Cortez came to Mexico city and conquered it)

Rio de Oro is out, I think Rio de Dinheiro would be better (River of money) it ends with 'eiro' too, while meaning is totally different. Describing the city's wealth too

Argentina Nuevo is out, because it's an oxymoron. Buenos Aires means good air (plural in spanish) how about --> San Pedo (holy fart)?

Vienetta is a name for a type of ice cream from Vienna, so that's out. Venice was a republic before italy and was known to be la serenissima republica de venezia, so There we get the name Serene (Serenissima means serene)

Sausaga is out, Vienna is famous for the dance called the walz and its classical composers, especially Mozart, who lived in Vienna. so as a mix of them it should be called Walzart.

Charlemangne was a family in france, so it's out. Barcelona could be Gaudina (because Antonio Gaudi, the famous architect from Barcelona)

Is that all? 1000+ songs and that's all you say? No suggestions, nothing new to the table? Steve Aoki sounds good to me, I could play hours just to that one song you mentioned. You haven't yet convinced me to change anything. Please try harder.

I mean in his defense, all the electronic stations are that sort of generic EDM sounding stuff that you hear as outro music on youtube videos. For a game set all around the world, there isn't much variety in music. So why not instead of having like four stations or whatever that play the same type of music, have each station in that part of the world play a subgenre of techno from that part of the world? The Netherlands can have Gabber/Hardstyle, America can have classic Detroit techno, etc. because at this point all the techno stations are just running together.

first of all, do some research about music in general. about genres, splits etc. after that we gonna talk seriously.

 

also it will help you mentally. your 'sarcastic' attitude shows how much Steve Aoki inspires You.
