Girlfriend progress at 0% how to get it back up

Recommended Posts

Denise's progress is so low that whenever I go to talk to her she dumps me. I dont know what to do I can't seem to do anything now. U remember that randomly driving around her progress bar would increase and decrease randomly. Is there any tip or tricks or places to go or specific times i need to be at a place in order for your progress var to rise just one simple percent. I can't lose her I want the car and pimp suit.

I am unaware of any in-game strategy that can save Denise now that's she's got it in her head to dump CJ. Cleo mods, save editors or trainers can fix the problem.

You might be able to leave her unhappy long enough to get her car from the next girlfriend. You can't date Denise, but she's still active so she might be selected as the jealous girlfriend when CJ can finally date someone else. I don't remember for sure, but don't think they ever call to dump CJ; I think she'll just sulk until he shows up.

I take it that your CJ is still restricted to LS. If Green Sabre is complete, Katie and Michelle can be dated right away, you don't need to wait until after Are You Going. In fact, Katie, Michelle and Barbara are all available on a beginning save. Their cars can be collected without completing any missions. Managing the 4 star wanted level is... a whole new play style to learn, but it's possible. Perhaps Denise can be your excuse to step up your level of game play to 4-star explorer. It's tough to start, but a lot of fun, and becomes fairly easy with practice.

I did some research both in-game and net, and came up with this:

When the progress bar goes to 0% it means you cannot date her until you do something to increase your sex appeal in stats. It can be increased by doing the following things:-

1) Collecting all 50 oysters in game will make the appeal 100%. You can find a map of oysters online.

2) In case you are too lazy to do that, you will have to complete thw game till the homecoming mission. The expensive shops ( Victim and DidierSachs) will be open. Go and buy an expensive clothing that you like ( torso, legs, shoes etc.). Also get a nice haircut to increase appeal.

3) Alongwith no.2, you will also need a flashy car. Just jack one off the city roads🙄.

Good luck, you will need it.

and yes4) Body building will also increase 'the' appeal. Bring it up to at least50%

There is an exploit you can use to raise sex appeal ever so slightly which involves adding and removing a single item of clothing from your wardrobe. This even works with the default white tank-top. I remember reading about it here but I'm unsure of how it actually works, or what percentage is raised. So far as I know, you simply remove it and select it to stack your sex appeal. This is how I managed to earn the trophy that revolves around sex appeal as I was frustratingly close but no cigar was to be seen.

It will be ever so slight, but maybe this will be enough to get you back in Denise's good books.

I think this question is old enough that no one cares at the moment, but for future reference...

The wardrobe glitch is an effective strategy for boosting sex appeal so that the girlfriends are more willing to meet or go out with CJ. It is especially useful for meeting Michelle since the bonus from a vehicle's sex appeal won't work for her interior location. Most players tend to collect all the oysters, which reduces the sex appeal preferences for Katie, Helena, Michelle, and Barbara to a point where sex appeal doesn't matter any more. As far as I can tell, sex appeal is never a factor for Denise and Millie.

If Katie, Helena, Michelle, or Barbara want to dump CJ you might be able to fix them by collecting the last oyster, which sets these girls to 45% progress if they are below 0% at the time. Or, just let them dump CJ and go re-meet them at their original locations. I still can't find any in-game strategies to fix Denise or Millie once they've decided to dump CJ. Editors, trainers and cleo scripts seem to be the only option.

It's easy to get 100% with Millie. Just wear the gimp suit and go to her house. BTW i have the censored v2.0 of GTA sa. If you have v1.0 you're gonna have to "do it" with her. This gets the percentage up much faster than usual.

Isn't the easiest method to raise your sex appeal to simply arrive in a great car such as a Cheetah or Comet?  As regards the date itself, always bring a gift of flowers; and with a low level of progress it is critical that you not miss any phone calls.  In fact until you get your progress percentage north of 50%, the best strategy is simply to start heading toward the girlfriends' house the moment you receive her call as the penalty for a missed date is severe.

Denise can be extremely annoying to keep happy as a girlfriend due to the fact (this was the case in the ps2 version) that you suffered a daily progress deduction twice a day.

Ok, I have a question:
Since I'm preparing to finally, at last, start my "The most perfect possible save" (when it comes to the stats) in next several months, I'm doing a lot of research (and I mean "a lot", because this one is supposed to be without the mistakes, as one single mistake can ruin everything, and you'd have to start all over again (or at least from the last "checkpoint", I consider it a new checkpoint once CJ unlocks another part of the map)). So:

When it comes to the GFs, I'm planning to do the following:

 -get them all to 100%

-have no failed (disastrous) dates

-have "number of successful dates" and "number of times scored with a girl" to be equal, which of course requires collecting all 50 oysters before doing "Big Smoke", because that way the GFs always wanna do it with CJ, every single time

-and.... keep the jealous GF feature through the entire game. Which, of course... requires me to not to date Denise any single time after finishing "Burning Desire", until I pass "Green Sabre". And, that could be a problem.

As you guys know, in the best case scenario (which is delaying Burning Desire as much as possible), there's still at least 6-7 missions left to do in LS before leaving it and moving to Angel Pine (which unlocks Katie and Michelle). 6-7 missions wouldn't be a problem, BUT.... unfortunately, as I've already checked, there is no way to pass "Doberman" and win all the Gang war turfs, before passing "Burning Desire". Which automatically means that I'll have to pass 6-7 missions+to win all the turfs (winning entire Los Santos is a must for me, no discussion about that and I can't skip it, it's a perfect save when it comes to the stats, and the stats keep a track of how many territories you've taken, IIRC it's exactly 100 territories at the end of the game in case you've taken them all both times. I also think I've noticed that at the end of the game there are more gang territories than after "Doberman", the number and the map isn't exactly the same in these 2 occasions). Back to the topic: Has anyone ever tried this before? Is it possible to keep Denise "alive" during all this time, because completing the rest of LS missions+getting all the territories will definately take a lot of time, even if I literally don't do anything else in between, such as exercising, passing the side missions etc (which I'm not planning to do anyways, as it will all be already done)? Once Denise becomes your GF, the progress is set to 15%. But, knowing how damn annoying she is, and how often she calls (I think at least twice every day), I guess she'll just eat up all the progress in like 7-9 days, and I guess I need at least 20 days to complete this all (I mean in-game days)....I assume the fact I will already have all 50 oysters collected, should help in keeping her "alive". But I'd like to hear what you think, and if any of you have done this before and have some experience in this matter?

An easy way to keep from losing progress with Denise during the early Los Santos strand is to meet Katie before Burning Desire. (Or Michelle, but Katie is easier. Barbara can call during the Badlands missions so isn't a good option.) As the first girlfriend, Katie will be assigned as the next girl to call but won't be able to call due to the constant wanted level while her area is still restricted. Katie will remain the next girl to call until she can call - so no issues with losing progress with her or Denise.

Another option; it's possible to speed date Denise and keep the two-timing scripts active. It's not the most reliable trick so you'll probably want to verify the two-timing flag with the Savegame Editor 3.x. It's possible to cancel dates by entering certain interiors, like Ammu-nations. If CJ takes Denise on a date to the Pizza joint in Palomino Creek and immediately enters the Ammu-nation next door then the date will end before the two-timing scripts become active, preserving whatever the current settings are. You'll need to be quick about it; there's only a 7 second delay before the two-timing script kick in. Start moving towards the Ammu-nation while the screen is still fading in.

Any successful date will bring the girlfriend to at least 15% progress.

I thought of the same bro, but you know what's the problem....dating Katie (or Michelle or Barbie) before Green Sabre, will automatically create 1 disastrous date. And, one of my goals is to have no disastrous dates. So, dating any GS apart from Denise before "Green Sabre" is not an option.

So far, the "speed date" sounds like the best option. 7 secs is enough time. But what's the status of that date if you cancel it by entering Ammu-nation? It's literally cancelled, the stats simply behave like it never happened?

You don't need to date Katie, just have her as a girlfriend so she's the designated caller. Worry about dating her after Green Sabre.

CJ makes progress from cancelled dates, but I'm not sure how it affects the other stats. Generally there are no ill effect, and the bonus is that you can date the same girl again without waiting until the next day, so this is a good speed dating option. One major problem though, you won't be able to score with Denise during a cancelled date, which conflicts with your stated goal.

There are other strategies for avoiding phone calls but they are more complicated. With a more detailed editor, SASE 1.00, you can learn when the the next girl will call so you can leave town, be on a mission, have a wanted level, or be too close to her house during the call. I can look up the details if you want. Meeting Katie is an easier option.

Oh my God! Yeah, I totally forgot about that when you make a new GF, you don't automatically date her! Lol how could I forget that.

Regarding not being able to score with Denise if I cancel the date by entering an interior, yeah you're right, it would be a date without a score, which is exactly what I'm gonna avoid. So, that one is off the list as well.

And, regarding your latest suggestion, that was my initial plan: to try to be unavailable as much as possible. For example, upon passing a mission or winning a turf, to quickly get into a vehicle, and on my way to a safe house, to kick a cop by vehicle so I get a star, which would be enough to enter a safe house without Denise's call. But having to do something like that every time I leave the safe house, and every time before I pass the mission/win a new hood, would be a pain in the ass. Especially including "Your hood is under attack!", which doesn't even stop the girlfriend's calls, they can just normally call during the attack, actually the attack can happen even literally while you're on your date with Denise, so it's nearly impossible to avoid Denise's calls during the attacks on GSF hoods. And, these attacks do happen a lot. At least every second time you win a hood, shortly after you won it there will be an attack on some another hood so you gotta go defend it. And, afaik, even if you avoid Denise's calls completely or mostly using these methods, her progress will still go down, slower but it will. So, this option seems nearly impossible to do, and is way too much of a hassle. So, dating Katie is probably the best option. But still, if you have the patience to do it, I'd appreciate if you could check the details, just because I'd like to avoid dating Katie before "Green sabre" if possible, it somehow feels more "legit" accurate and in order, and my save is pretty much about that.

The topic linked above contains the relevant information, including a link to SASE 1.00. This tool can be used to view the local variables of active threads. The thread that controls the calls is GFAGNT.
