Euda
Hello GTAF-Community, so after reading some info about recent updates in SA's modding scene, I decided to start a new San Andreas savegame with some basic mods and fixes to improve the experience. Below is a list featuring all the mods I have installed, not mentioning each version as I have used the latest ones for all of them. My OS is Windows 7 64 Bit, Service Pack 1. I am using a 1.0 US Hoodlum EXE since ages and it has never caused me trouble with mods. I have also created an exception for gta_sa.exe in the Windows DEP config. Silent's AsiLoader CLEO SilentPatch exdisp.asi (Ryosuke's Display Settings Extender) noDEP.asi (to eliminate Windows Data Execution Prevention, got it from Junior_Djjr's page mixmods.com.br) wshps.asi (for widescreen HOV+ support) Tuning Mod by Junior_Djjr (incl. indieVehHandlings.cs) madleg's Ragdoll ASI Plugin fastman's GTA IV "fly through windshield on crash" ASI Plugin Mod MixSets by Junior_Djjr (CLEO-script) Real Traffic Fix by Junior_Djjr (CLEO-script) Oil Traces by Junior_Djjr ("Pingar óleo do carro", CLEO-script) Turbo Backfire - Antilag ALS by Junior_Djjr (CLEO-script) In-Game Timecyc Editor (CLEO-script) My custom timecyc.dat engine.cs (CLEO-script to turn off engine when getting out a car by holding F/ENTER) Manual Drive-By Remake (CLEO-script by ThirteenAG & Junior_Djjr) Brake-pad sound (CLEO-script by Junior_Djjr, "Som de pastilha de freio") V8 Rumble Car Engine Sounds, installed via modloader (had to convert the files to 16-bit PCM WAVs first to make them work in-game) Unfortunately, I am experiencing random crashes with this setup, mainly when starting a mission while the cutscene begins, when I enter a savehouse or when a mission is passed, but also randomly at any place and in any situation in-game. In certain events it "tends" or is more likely to crash (for example I experienced a crash almost each time the first cutscene of Catalina's mission "Tanker Commander" started) but it is generally hard to see any correlation whatsoever, as it also happened in other missions like "Reuniting the Families" for example. Below is a modloader crash-log from my last crash, maybe some of the more experienced users here would be so great and help me out. Mysterdogg
The kind of problem you got with your, at first sight, good modded directory are really interesting; the problem seems to be a corrupted save game file, a possible solution pribably is saving somewhere else before continuing the story mode, you can also try this for saving wherever you want. My advice: I always recommend to play the story mode with a clean directory, since most of the available modifications are compatible with it. LaDiDa
You might want to remove the in-game timecyc editor after you're done editing since I experienced a crash with it on a otherwise clean game when using it for a prolonged amount of time while playing around. Euda
Hey, thanks for Your answers. It seems to be an issue difficult to solve and troubleshoot. I have removed the in-game Timecyc editor, spawned a Hydra, flew to Los Santos and saved the game somewhere on the streets there using the "Save Anywhere"-mod. After then trying to enter an interior, the game crashed again with my seemingly corrupted save. Does anybody have a suggestion left on what I could do or is my save gone for good? ________ Below some screenshots I took during my sessions– it's great that SA is still being fed with great mods day after day. This is really an unusual problem, maybe the first I ever see it, so if after trying our suggestions the crashes are still present, I suggest you remove all those modifications and then test the game, if it doesn't crash go trying one by one with those modifications. P.D: latest topics about crashes and problems with modded directories have something in common, Junior Djjr's Real Traffic Fix; if that coincidence isn't just by casually I believe the problem is that script. LaDiDa
It's not, at least not for me, since I am using it but am able to play for hours (maybe not using a limit adjuster for scripts and then reaching the limit which produces the crash, idk the actor changing in random peds within the savefile is a first for me as well)? LaDiDa
Doing a bit of searching for exdisp.asi I found it practically does what Silent Patch does except for the framelimiting which I wouldn't recommend at anything above 30 anyway. If you were to remove that, start a new game and keep saving to see if it crashes yet (since the issue seems to attach itsself to your savefile)? Mysterdogg
what about sharing your save game file here? so we can place it in our games and check it, maybe save somewhere and then if it doesn't crash upload that overwritten/updated file. Best regards and thanks in advance, Euda =) Out of curiosity, where would I find the crash log? I had some luck with playing the game for hours and then crashing at random times. I had wesser GUI, widescreen and Silent Patch. I tried removing just two of three patches and left Silent Patch alone. Could this be an issue with Windows 10 because if you leave it idol for some time, it goes back to the log in screen.
