Awesome to hear, I can not wait to test new version. Maybe first time in my live, shooting and camera moving when driving will be exactly as developers designed it in todays TPP open world games. If only GTA III hero can swim ( i saw once really god mode for VC), that would be just like dreams come true.

There's a swim mod for gta 3, at gtagarage

I didn't really feel to wait for too long, Vice City version it's on early stage yet, but...

...III version isn't.

It's time for a release.

Classic Axis 2.0 for Grand Theft Auto III

Out now. Link in OP.

change.log:

On foot/In vehicle camera completely rewritten.
Huge overall improvements and bug fixes.
Smooth transitions have been added.
Fixed a bug where camera intersacate with floor or vehicle.
Fixed unability to shoot with m16.
Fixed a bug where you cannot move in interiors.
Added ability to look behind and left/right while in a vehicle.
Camera can now be moved with any vehicle present in the game, no limits.
Fixed all RC related bugs.
Fixed a bug where player cannot get up.
Over the shoulder camera has been adjusted to fit more the SA style.
Redrawed crosshair to fit perfectly the aiming point, pointing centered to the screen.
Removed "Standard" and "Classic" options from menu, GInput style.
LCS style camera distance from player.
Manual aiming SA style has been implemented correctly.
Possibility to auto aim when playing with a gamepad.
Tank/water cannon can now be moved through camera axis.
Water cannon will now rotate if a compatible "firetruck" model is used.
Updated zoom values.
Added possibility to shoot with "L1" while manual aiming.
Fixed a crash when fading occur, mainly on missions.
Implemented Dynamic FOV behaviour and GTAIV camera offsets.
New settings can be changed from the "ini" file.

Hope you'll enjoy playing with it, as much as me while developing it. :)

Many thanks to Noskillx for testing and suggesting in the stages of this version.

Nice work. Also, I thought the Vice City version it was or will be just a port from the III version. To match between the two versions including the same options as well.

Compatibility with other modifications it's not guaranteed, do your tests.

That's because, the modification works only on 1.0 version, check the readme.

You can force auto aiming on keyboard and mouse using the option inside the settings file.

On Gamepad auto aiming works exactly like on SA, where moving the analog stick makes you use manual aiming.

Adding a setting for gamepad was useless in my opinion.

That's only present in SA by default. Look for TAG's CLEO script to achieve the same thing for GTA3 and Vice City.

Just move the right analog stick when using auto aim to go manual aim directly.

Here's my mini-tests

M16 aim: while using GInput, The m16 aiming reverts back to the default 1st person aiming. So, if you want manual aiming with the m16, hold the aim button while jumping (only on Gamepad, with GInput. Doing this on keyboard/mouse causes a broken m16 aiming, because Hollywood Jack's increased gore (another one of his cleo scripts) replaces the default m16 aim by a sniper aim (with available zoom)).

V1.1 exe: Alright, bro. It was because I was also using Maru89's VC cars in action mod, which comes with a Limit Adjuster, and i thought this Limit adjuster only works to the v1.1 exe.

Manual aim with GInput: I understand you. Using the manual aim with GInput is very horrible, because it doesn't allows to decrease the camera sensitivity :(

Looks great! Just mix ClassicAXIS + XBox Mod + Ability to Run while Shooting with Heavy Guns and you will have GTA 3's (unnoficial) definitive remaster!

But i have a question: what the IV's Dynamic Fov does, when it's enabled?

And another nice mod. Good Luck for VC's Version!

It's wrote inside the ini file, "it makes FOV change it's value basing it on camera angle and player height", enable it and try turning the camera from middle screen to bottom as example.

Thank you everyone for supporting the mod. :)

The manual aim is way too snappy, i can't perform precise aiming meaning i can almost never hit my shots.

Any way to fix the snappy manual aim?

Mod Disabled: Standard Aiming is OK, no problems.

Mod Enabled: The (manual) Aiming isn't Accurate as the v1.6 version. It's very snappy.

Use _AG's IV hud for San Andreas.

Well, thanks for ruining our aiming accuracy while playing with the mouse! I wonder how you're able to play without a broken aiming... You should need to fix this issue. This issue doesn't happens with the v1.6 version.

I haven't ruined anything, simply don't use the modification, isn't that hard.

Also about your multiple posts, those are pointless and it's getting annoying, so please stop or just log out.
