Classic Axis for GTA: III and GTA: VC

I think the author has done his best and there is nothing can be done further (at the moment) to fix the existing issues, I've completed III & VC playthrough with this mod and I can say it was a very stable experience as I seem to be lucky enough to not encounter any crashes. The aiming stuck bug can be annoying but can be easily and quickly fixed by aiming again, VC version is more buggy with y-axis sensitivity and the firing animation looks odd, however it still beats the old camera system.

I recommend people to turn off the vehicle camera from this mod and use the LCS one from Vehicle Camera Port instead, as for crash issue try to make sure your exe and mod setup is compatible, and make sure to install the complete package of Visual C++.

Found an odd issue where I couldn't use this in conjunction with the breakable windshields mod.

Try setting "bForceAutoAim" in "iii_classic_axis.ini" to 0, you won't be able to auto-aim (as in you'll be manual aiming instead) but it'll make the mod work right with the Breakable Windshields one.:)

is there's a way to get around getting stuck and not able to shoot using sniper or rocket launcher

I Think This Bugs Can't Allow to Shoot Using a Ever Weapon, That Because Enemy Will Shoot Allow to Freeze Your Aiming and Not able to Shoot Using Pistol, Uzi, Shotgun, Ak47, M16, Sniper and Rocket Launcher.

I've been having some issues with the mod. I can't seem to get it to work. It just crashes with a Unhandled Expection c00005 address 00468e48. Any way to prevent this? Thanks

Yeah, kind of the same issue here. The mod itself works on GTA 3 but it crashes the game a lot to the point where I just switched back to the classic camera instead of using it. It's a shame because it's a wonderful quality of life addition.

The latest version makes the gamepad aiming feel really bad where older versions don't, but they are too buggy. Is there an older version that doesn't change the aiming deadzones?

Classic Axis is a modification for "GTA: III" and "GTA: Vice City" that aims to bring a better visual camera behavior to the game with features

that can be found in "GTA: San Andreas" and " GTA: Liberty City Stories" all this only to improve the end user gameplay experience.

Features:

Possibility to walk in 4 directions.

Possibility to move camera both while "on foot" and "in a vehicle".

Manual/Auto aiming the way "GTA: San Andreas" does it.

And much more...

Well apparently the mod is abandoned.  It has more potential than that of the new remastered trilogy. One day they will return to the mod or not :(

I like this mod for GTA III and VC I like the rotating camera on foot and I can have the camera offset of GTA IV and the dynamic FOV and also walking but, their is a annoying bug that only happens when using any weapon and when Claude is getting shoot he will get stuck in one position and he will not move after aiming the weapon again and he will move and this can get annoying if your are in a rampage or a mission while getting shoot you will die or fail a mission because Claude got stuck in one spot while he was getting shoot. Maybe you can fix this issue on a new version of Classic Axis. Also it happens in GTA Vice City.

If you have time reading my comment thanks for reading it.

MR CLAUDE SPEED
I have an error with the classic axis in gta 3 and vice city
, when I shoot an m16 in gta 3, it shoots into the air, but when I turn off the frame limiter
, it shoots well, but the bad thing about turning off the frame limiter is that the game is difficult to play
, the same happens with vice city, with the shotgun and minigun weapons, how could I fix that error,
without having to turn off the frame limiter?

there are too many annoying bugs, I request the update.

bug list

-When you stop aiming, claude/tommy moves in a circle until you press the jump button

-Heavy weapon like m4, shotgun, other heavy weapon can't shoot when aiming and clicking once, you could only hold left click and wait for claude/tommy to shoot it, I want it to be fixed to aim like definitive edition

-other annoying bugs that I don't know about

-sniper rifle, missile launcher and flamethrower do not fire on aim until you aim again

-I request to add the animation that can run with heavy weapons like gta liberty city stories (only gta 3)

tell me if you can update it please

I'm having the same issue a few other people mentioned where enabling the GTA IV-styled controls in GInput (ControlsSet = 5) prevents the sticks from working, so you can only move with the D-Pad (as a side effect, moving left or right with these settings also switches your weapons).

The mod got a few updates recently, better late than never I guess?

Get latest here

Hope it's less buggy now.

Changes:

-Rewritten code.
-Removed few stuff:
--Removed vehicle camera.
--Removed dynamic FOV.
--Removed configurable settings.
-Fixed a bug where player get's stuck after aiming.
-Fixed random crashes.
-Fixed a bug that makes Sniper Rifle/Rocket Launcher stop working.
-Added LCS like Target System.

Known issues:
-VC:
--Animation might not finish loop before shooting a new bullet.
--Aiming while crouching might reset the animation.

Those issues don't attach or break the gameplay experience.
