Spider-Vice
Today, Rockstar Games has finally announced what has been rumoured for quite a number of months. LA Noire is coming for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and for the Vive VR platforms.Coming on November 14 this year, the new release of LA Noire will be divided in a few different versions: LA Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive contains seven cases from the original game, rebuilt for Virtual Reality, and, according to Rockstar, "blends breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience." LA Noire for the Nintendo Switch is the original PS3, Xbox 360 and PC game, adapted to the new Nintendo console. It contains specific features for the console, such as a Joy-Con mode, with gyroscopic and gesture based controls, rumble, and new camera angles, along with touch screen controls for portability. LA Noire for PS4 and Xbox One is the ultimate LA Noire experience - it will deliver the original game and its DLC with a range of technical enhancements, including enhanced lighting and timecycles, new camera angles, high resolution textures, and much more. Rockstar says it will run at a native 1080p on the Xbox One and PS4, and 4K on the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro, making this Rockstar's first foray into 4K gaming outside of the PC platform! The LA Noire website has also been updated with more information about this release, and we can expect more about this in the weeks ahead on the Newswire.Rockstar Newswire Post Edited September 7, 2017 by Spider-Vice Flachbau, Verbal Soze, IGPlay and 32 others 35 GTANet | Red Dead Network | black lives matter | stop Asian hate | trans lives = human lives the beginning is moments ago, the end is moments away

RedDagger
Rockstar wading into the VR world, shame it's not a RAGE game since that would have interesting implications for...future titles, but looks like it'll be a solid AAA VR game/experience which VR could do with more of Spider-Vice, Actlikeyouknow, Mister Pink and 2 others

Matrelith
I thoroughly enjoyed L.A. Noire on my PS3, so I'll keep an eye out for this. Any news on the framerate?
Spider-Vice
I guess it depends on the enhancements they're making. 4K is going to be a thing on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro so I'm guessing 30 again, unless they do 60 for the other two consoles. DOUGL4S1
I tought Nintendo would be pretty skeptical about letting Rockstar release their games on their consoles again since Chinatown Wars. Good to see they're mostly OK. It's also pretty cool seeing Rockstar go into the VR world. Edited September 7, 2017 by DOUGL4S1
Dacelo
The framerate's still gonna be capped at 30 though won't it? Since upwards of 30 breaks the animations?

Spider-Vice
The framerate's still gonna be capped at 30 though won't it? Since upwards of 30 breaks the animations? Well, given they're going to remaster the effects and such on the current gen consoles, I'm sure they could fix that too but they're probably going to choose quality over frame rate. gooeyhole 1 GTANet | Red Dead Network | black lives matter | stop Asian hate | trans lives = human lives the beginning is moments ago, the end is moments away

I guess it's because it was Team Bondi and not a R* studio that developed it. Which engine did it use?
Spider-Vice
LA Noire uses a custom engine made by Team Bondi (and R*), with Havok as the physics engine. There's small bits and bobs of RAGE I think but it's not based on it at all. rollschuh2282
when they did L.A Noire, then a upgraded (and optimized) version of GTA IV would not be that unbelieveable to come
Yoona
They chose this of all the games... Why not remaster Red Dead Redemption for PC, PS4 and Xbox One? You know 1080p to 4K 60-144 frames and all that? PC never got RDR in the first place.... L.A. Noire plays great in native 4K on PC already on a GTX 970/ GTX 1060, and well enough on 360 and PS3. It's like only Switch owners will truly benefit from it... if they even care. Hell even GTA IV remaster in 1080p 60 fps without messy optimization for PC, Xbox One and PS4 would be better.... chronic lumbago
Well, this is.. unexpected. Now remake GTAIV and take all my money. I'd pay double. November 14 this year means early 2019 probably. I'm happy with my 360 copy, but if they truly enchance the game to make the city more alive, more things to do, maybe even first person mode then I'll consider it. I think this game will look absolutely beautiful. The potential is there. One of the best looking games on last gen. Igor Bogdanoff
Those better textures on xbone and ps4 sounds like they are taken out of PC. Doubt about 60FPS since it's holded by animations of face which were simply recorded in 30FPS. Only the lighting and timecyc is new thing. Maybe that will come to PC thanks to added support for HTC vive. Fallcreek
DM the Pro
I don't know what to say but... LA NOIRE ON SWITCH!!! ALSO VR!!! Now what? GTA V on Switch? GTA V on VR? When RDR2?
V
Probably one of R*'s underrated masterpieces. Now just do GTA IV and MP3 and my body will be ready. now i hope when they do MP3 and GTA IV, that they don´t dump down euphoria like in V MP3 still holds up. I can't get 60fps on the highest settings. It's that good.IV however, was and still is poorly optimized. RDR is a mess of a code that I honestly doubt they would go through the trouble of porting it to sell few more copies. But about L.A. Noire, I looked through my stats on Social Club and found out that i haven't given much thought past the 21 cases. Steam is downloading it now.
