I'm Done Grinding, Now What?

Well, I've been playing for about 2 months now. Just about to level 140. In this time I've accumulated roughly 16 million GTA$.

I have multiple properties, an MC, and all the vehicles that actually interest me.

If GTAO were any other title, I'd already be at "end game".

How is this possible? It's actually quite simple. This game has multiple separate DLCs, but none tie in together. There is no requirement to obtain all items from one DLC before a player moves on to the next. There is really no need to get any items at all. From what I've seen so far, the only content locked from players are individual Special Vehicle Missions, which also are not required to complete before moving on.

My online sessions slipped to 44 minutes on average this week. That's pretty much the time it takes to run a half dozen solo races.

It's not that I don't want to run with other players, but that I can't find anyone decent to play with that wants to do anything other than grind. Which, as the thread title states, I'm done with.

I just want to sit back and enjoy the things I've earned with people who want to do the same, but it's like I'm in a very small minority.

I tried Buzzard griefing for a while, but it's gotten really stale, and races are getting there too.

Someone else suggested completing challenges, but to what point? I don't need the RP anymore after passing level 135.

I started helping noobs with heists and CMs. It's ok, and it's keeping me entertained for now, but I really, really need to find either an objective to keep me busy for the foreseeable future, or a player group who is past the grind.

Blow up jets with your explosive sniper.

I don't have one. None of the GR stuff actually. I don't like any of it. Plus I quit DCUO due to bullsh*t RNG, and flat out refuse to take part in anything that involves it.

I thought the exact same as you, after this 1000 CEO crates and gold trophy grind thing.

I thought I was done grinding, like retiring.

As I want to keep playing and as sitting here gets boring in notime, I went on another state of mind: I help low levels in fights, or do some CEO jobs to make them earn cash while I take the expenses with some ressuplies for the bunker.

I also accept invites for Contact missions and adversary modes I actually never tried.

Collect some cars, go for a more role play attitude, or find a crew with some motivation (races, RP, ...mine does group stunts).

Find a goal!

EDIT

I was level 340 at my " retirement", now I'm 365 just by doing jobs for other dudes and flying around and offering my services to other orgs.

Search for Chiliad Mystery.

Already solved it. Not much of a mystery. A planned but as of yet unreleased DLC that includes the jet pack, rail gun, and UFO.

Go Sandboxing. What did you do in GTA IV and GTA 3 after you complete the storyline? You can try to do the same stuff in Online (with friends and crew)

Also, GTA:O has physics, so it's a stunt-friendly game

I've set myself small goals, such as steal a muscle car off the street, upgrade it, and be competitive in races.

As far as collecting, I've got like 10 cars and half a dozen bikes. Some are Benny's vehicles, which I like a lot for the insane amount of customization.

I should find a new crew that actually plays together. I'm in one now that has a thousand members who never actually interact. But they've got a bitchin crew emblem lol.

16 mill is not enough. You gotta be 100 mill + to be well off in gta

Well - that's what GTA is about: There is no requirement on anything. It's open world! You can choose to do whatever you want. You don't have to own anything. You don't even have to get money.

There are so many things you can do besides grinding:

  • Collecting rare tuned cars
  • Doing missions
  • Races of all kind
  • Deathmatches
  • Doing stupid stuff, just having fun
  • and much more

I'd play golf, or go parachuting, or just fool around for laughs but it seems like people are allergic to having fun.

I'm blaming all my woes on the Overtime Rumble x2 event. I was laid up for the two weeks that ran with a reoccurring back issue. I made 10 million playing that every day. Plus I jumped up 50 levels.

This puts things in perspective for me. I'm having a hard time staying interested with the little bit I've done. The glitchers with hundreds of millions in the bank must be bored senseless.

If you're bored of GTA O after getting to level 135 and getting $16 mill, I think you should play other games and be bored after a couple of hours..

You either lack imagination or something because I don't think you've experienced everything gtao has to offer at a level of 135

When I was I getting close to level 120 I thought the same as you, the game has not much more to offer but I was quite wrong because it was actually when the fun started...

Here are some good suggestions:

-Join a racing crew(I recommend NODO, if there is a spot available, you have to join their forum);

-Join a photography crew(talk to Mach, he is in one);

-How about some role-playing? You own a CEO office so what I would do is, get out of my character's home at 7:00AM, call a cab or drive ourself to there respecting traffic laws(use passive mode), work as CEO from 11pm to 18pm, go back home, take shower, repeat for the next day, all in first person.

(I have been doing the last suggestion for this week, and I like it, makes me appreciate the beautiful game map this game has)

This is the problem with most players...gta is a sandbox game....besides the story or missions, you are free to make your own fun and play the game as you please....this is where many gamers get stuck

Most games tell you what to do....its linear, last of us and uncharted are great beautiful games but they are really glorified mario games....its a straight line...this is easy for players, they know they have to save the princess or find the treasure etc

Gta gives you freedom is make your own fun, R* provide a lovely explorable map and tools for you to play with..and for players with low imagination or players who are not creative they dont know what to do with themselves...

But left to themselves, most players dont know what to do, there is no end game, if you do everything there is the game does not end...it goes on...if this were an average game we would have completed it years ago, its 4years old and I feel most players are burnt out...dunno what to do...and blame R*

When was the last time any of you got friends together and organised something? Went offroading? Whens the last time you used impromptu race? (Especially those who complain about catch up) you can use any class and race friends, when was the last time you got together with friends for a skydive? or rode a bike up mount chilliad? went boating? How many of you use R* editor or director mode? How many of you make videos or take pictures? Or get friends together to do a photoshoot? Roleplay? Cosplay? Whens the last time you went for a cruise in a car thats not a super or armoured? How many of you have gone hiking? Done a gang attack? Fight gang members or the lost in freemode? The last time you purposely had a gunfight with police? (the enemy that keeps on giving) when was the last time you tried to actually steal another players export instead of blowing it up? When is the last time you went looking for spots to do cool stunts? Hunted a bounty without a military grade vehicle? Have any of you ever tried the ramp buggy and rocket voltic together with a friend? Fun as hell, I came up with that because i have imagination, when was the last time you used your monster truck or any of the pegasus vehicles you have just for fun? How many of you have used to water quad outside the mission? Or the kraken? Get a cargobob, pick up a friend in a rocket voltic and do air stunts....

Why limit your experience to the missions and sh*t you have done a billion times? No wonder you are bored....

There is so much content out there, even here look at any snapmatic thread, any video or car thread, even youtube has amazing content...get creative, its a f*cking game, have fun, you guys must not have real jobs to compare this to a job, thats sad as hell

People will grind for hours for a clubhouse then say sh*t like, i hardly use it, wish I could sell it.....wtf, or for some new vehicle and not use it, thats why I only have a few I own, dnt get me wrong I like loads of cars in game, but i can like them without wasting money on them to sit in my garage, why are you wasting time acquiring all these assets? You cant take it with you to gta6

I keep trying to reply to everyone but I'm on the side of Elephant mtn up here in Maine and svc isn't that great today.

Ideas for things to do isn't the problem. Finding other players to do them with is. I joined a crew. Then couldn't make a meeting due to work and got the boot. Joined another one. A thousand members who don't interact at all.

I understand that my on times aren't like other players. Like I already said, my average session is only 44 minutes. A little on week nights, more on the weekend. Still though, it shouldn't be as hard as it is to find people who want to do something other than grind.

People don't get that you don't always have to grind or have everything in the game in order to have fun.

Glad to see I'm not the only one doing weird stuff with my CEO business ^^

At night, I either walk around lonely, go rampage, or hang out around the strip club, bars, Vinewood Blvd,...

How the hell do you do contact missions with randoms without getting kicked? All I've played with are like "OH he's 340, must be hacks/cheats." I'm sorry that I happened to level up, but if anything a high level should certify mission passed right?

You have to make your own goals, your own path for the game. That's literally the whole point of it.

You don't need other people, but it's nice to share experiences with others I agree.

Photography and racing is my thing, I never "grind" unless it's something I enjoy. Still play every day. Edging up on lvl 600. Still not bored.

Sell a high end I/E car, then place a plastic bag over head, see if you can fap to completion before taking the literal easy way out or able to sell another high end car.

Like Alexander I guess, sit back, survey the breadth of your domain and weep because there are no more worlds to conquer.

This is always going to be an issue with a game where it keeps running but there's a finite amount of things to do. Once you've completed all the tasks, it's either a case of make your own fun or stop playing.

I remember old computer games where you completed them and it automatically restarted from the beginning without even going back to the main menu.

And that's the problem with this game. All that new DLCs are, are new ways to make money. The cycle is to make money, they release new money maker, you spend money on the new money maker, and you make money. It's cyclical. Nother than collecting more cares/planes, there is no point to to the game in and of itself.

The only point I can see is that GTAO gives a digital space for you to do stuff with friends. The trick is having/making friends that play this game. It can be hard to find cool people with similar tastes. One thing I did, was I joined a friendly/grinding crew. Occasionally I would help people with their grind. Made a couple friends and we sometimes do stuff that's not just grinding. Just like dating though, you habe to get lucky to meet the right cool people to do stuff with.

I actually enjoy the grind as long as I mix it up so I just keep doing that and accumulating stacks in my bank balance.
