Impossible to find solo public lobbies?

Did this DLC change something with the lobby system?

I used to find solo public lobbies to grind money quite a bit, to avoid griefers.

Is this no longer possible?

I find dead lobbies all the time. Last night I switched lobbies about 10 times trying to find a full one with no luck. Its crazy cuz lobbies on PS3 are still packed.

I just lag out and get my own. Invite enough friends to keep it safe and enjoy.

 

I have noticed that the sessions will fill up fast once a random is dumped into it though.

For Xbox One, changing my MTU to 700-800 via my Router settings still works. I have noticed recently that I get disconnected right away a lot more, so I have to find another public lobby, and do the same thing again. Not sure if that's more on Rockstar's end, or mine.

Rumour is Rockstar attempted to stop solo publics. It didn't work. However it has, from what I've read, made it harder to remain in a solo public for a long time.

It's still a pain to get into one (from story mode). Took 4 attempts this morning, but I got in and nobody joined me.

Since SR dropped it's been about the same difficulty to get into one, but about 1/4 or 1/5 times I don't stay alone for long. He other times I can stay alone for hours, and usually others that join are just trying to grind in peace as well. Just keep an eye on anyone with an Oppressor icon or never registers as an organization.

Since the SR update I've been getting a lot of small lobbies with 5-10 players. If I keep switching I end up alone after a few tries. It seems like R* have tried to improve the lobby selection a bit but it still needs tweaking.

 

A few months back I would often get a solo lobby every time I switched sessions which is what most seem to want but it sucks when you want to play with others.

I used to be able to make solo public lobbies consistently pre-SR. My crew mates and I played in the lobby for up to 12 hours before any randoms show up. Post-SR, I can make solo public lobbies, but the server keeps splitting lobbies after about 5 minutes or so. Hard to play with crew when the lobbies keep splitting... Not sure what's going on is part of their anti-solo lobbies or what...

Not sure if this will work for everyone. But I usually have either a podcast, or hd ballgame streamed on my computer at the same time which nets me in my own lobby quite often. The downside of this I can't really join any races, missions, or other game mode.

id love to find a solo public lobby so I could get on with selling some high end cars, they aren't going to make me money by sitting in storage.

If I turn the rule on before launching the game, it usually doesn't work. Get tossed into nearly-full lobbies.

If I turn the rule on after launching the game and try and find a new lobby, I get lobbies with three or four people, but then I get a network error after about half an hour without fail.

Ive had no issues getting and staying in a solo public on PS4 with my MTU set at 700. On the other hand , when I was doing populated lobbies, finding one with more than 10 players took a bit of time, I think I spent about 10 minutes lobby hopping trying to find one that was close to full.

Make sure you've got all the correct udp ports 6672, 61455, 61457, 61456, 61458 blocked(and enable it before starting the game).

I usually get straight into a solo session with these blocked and never have to worry about anyone joining

I think that'd be a case of "When you want something, you can't get it; when you don't though, you do." Happens all the time for me! I want to find a low-population lobby -- all I get are packed ones. I want a full lobby -- all I get are empty ones!

Saturday and Sunday I ended up in solo lobbies for 4+ hours each time until I logged off ....got 26 hanger supply runs done unimpeded mixed with fortified and gun running stock sales . Have yet to enter a solo lobby though and aways was able to do that via session hop ..... both times I was in a small lobby of 5-8 players went afk for an hour or so and come back to empty lobby ..... for hours .

While in game, open taskmanager, go to the ressource monitor, open the network tab, right click on gta.exe, suspend process for 10 seconds, resume process, profit.

You guys playing with MTU settings and HD streams and lobby switching are really making things difficult for yourselves. The firewall method is a thousand times quicker and easier and 100% foolproof. Never had a single issue, even after SR.

I found myself in a lobby of 2 others yesterday after doing some adversary modes, they were clearly doing their own thing but didn't vote for me to be kicked. I hit some VIP work, nothing, not one of them attempted to kill my boxville, my yacht was left alone. I shared my earnings from PP with them, they probably didn't even notice but since they were playing nice I felt I'd share.

As I said, keep getting kicked for "unknown network error" without fail.

There is an extremely easy method to making your own solo public lobby. If anyone of you used the playlist method before they patched it, you just need a friend to do an additional step to making it. Only takes as long as doing one lap in one race. YouTube has videos about it.

I'm on PC and I end up in an empty public 1 out of 7 or 8 logins. Haven't really seen a difference with the latest update.

i have no idea what you guys are talking about, regarding ports, mtu, utp, etc, but I do have a question of my own whilst were on this topic,

 

on Saturday and sunday mornings, never any other time of the week, if I decide to go into a public lobby, I always get put into lobbies full of French speaking squeekers, who cant drive, cant shoot, cant communicate, cant do missions and cant not kill each other, why is this?
