I just noticed something in Friend Request

After Michael rig the prototype, he just left the bag in the table. It could be that Rickie found the bag and know it belong to Michael

What do you think of this? Is this another detail hidden by R*

Maybe. Or maybe someone you never saw getting into your workplace, staying alone with a prototype of something for a few minutes, leaving and never coming back, and later this prototype exploding and killing someone important may be a bit suspicious.

it was pretty dumb of Michael to let the bag there tho, specially one that belongs to Lester.

It was Lester's bag and Lester isn't stupid enough to leave anything in there that could be traced, so how did Rickie find Michael?

An office like that would likely have security cameras that would have Michael going into the office to plant the device in the phone.

It's a little silly isn't it? Rickie can't remove adware from his PC, but he is able to track down Michael without any discernible lead?

He did work for a company that's a parody of Facebook, who has a face recognition software. Maybe he used that or something similar to track down Michael's identity from one of the security cameras?

well michael does have an account on lifeinvader. so maybe they put his face in to see if that person had an account. its funny though that michael who is supposed to be a criminal mastermind left evidence. that is an ametuer move.

Probably this. The office had to have had a security camera that recorded Michael walking into the office after dealing with the issue he was hired to deal with then Rickie have have did that with a screen shot of the footage. I'd think.

If they had facial recognition software, the cops would have been able to find Michael too.

Why would someone in witness protection have a social media account?

How can a computer programmer not be able to close some pop-ups and run an antivirus program?

- Maybe he could, but he'd have to explain to some superior in the company why his computer was filled with popups and viruses, to the point of having to run the anti-virus, so he had Michael to do this to blame on the new guy.

Maybe after the phone exploded killing Norris a part of it remained where Rickie could trace Michael's phone number to it.

Or most likely just a gag playing off the stereotype that computer programmers are nerds with "epic hacking skillz".

When it takes several years of fan speculation to make sense of Houser's terrible writing.

it's not "terrible writing" but it seems to be a hidden details

I really do appreciate that you're trying to fix GTA's story, but as soon as you fill one plothole, another one comes up. Houser's Law.

You lot think way too much into things. If there's any explanation behind it, which there probably isn't, it'll be because Michael triggered the explosion from his own personal mobile phone - this could've been traced. This is left unexplained because people would throw a hissy fit as to why there was no investigation.

Officer Ronson

The simplest explanation being that he told Michael where the prototype was and probably recognized the backpack considering he was the only employee in the building to directly interact with him.

Its implied that Michael's FIB connections are what keeps him (and later on, Franklin and Trevor) from being tracked down for all the killing
