Yet Another Griefing Tool: Thermal Goggles

Back in Gunrunning, Thermal Vision was added as a Heavy Sniper scope. Not many people liked it because it doesn't zoom in as much as a Advanced Scope.

 

Now with Smugglers Run, anyone can just buy Thermal Vision Goggles in a clothing store, while everyone else in Gunrunning had to buy a bunker and spend money on Fast-Tracking/Supplies.

These Goggles are some of the most overpowered things i've seen in this game next to Jets.

 

You can see anyone through walls, NPCs and Players with any gun you want.

Before someone finishes respawning you can see them clearly in a bright orange light.

The biggest gripe I had with the thermal scope is not the low zoom, but the fact that while it's neat against ground targets, it makes acquiring aerial targets nearly impossible, which is the biggest reason I even use my explosive Heavy Sniper to begin with.

 

Thermal Goggle is R* telling me that yes, I can have my cake and eat it too. What the hell.

You can't deactivate the thermal vision while using the scope of the Sniper,so it is useless for me,anyway there is worse things in this game,trust me thermal vision is not one of them,it is pretty normal actually,now try dealing with the VIP Work Ruiner 2k with an skilled player inside,that is another story.

This looks like an thing to put on Bitch and Moan Thread anyway,i wouldn't be surprised if this thread goes locked(my opinion of course)

You can deactivate a couple ways.

 

1. The long way. Open your interaction menu and go to style. Make sure your visor is down and then go to accessories. Scroll to the helmet with the quad lens and activate the thermal.

 

2. The easy way. Save it as an outfit with the visor down and thermal activated. This way you can just switch back to the outfit you saved after exiting an aircraft (since entering an aircraft "removes" your helmet).

 

Overall, I'm a little peeved that I spent money on the thermal scope for my HS, but there's enough downside to using thermal so that it's not OP. At least, IMO.

I mean't,you can't put you visor up while scoping,so basically can't deactivate the Thermal Vision while scoping.(Or you can?i am pretty sure you can't)and since i like switching between Thermal and Normal vision while scoping this new helmet is useless for me.

Thermal Goggles can be used with anything except vehicles that aren't bikes

Even for solo players like myself it is way easier to see in the dark nights that this game offers.

Yeah it works for the advanced scope. I havent really fought anyone with it. Found the thermal to be not really necessary. You can see most people. But I will try the save outfit trick, it very much a pain to turn it on. After doing it a couple of times, it would probably be quick.

 

Edit: the outfit deal doesnt work or I couldnt figure it out, thermal has limited uses. I can see the gamertag fine enough without it.

Used it for an hour two days ago. Let me tell you, that thing is amazingly OP. I don't find much use for it, though. But, you know. It's GTAO. It can and WILL be used for griefing.

Thermal helmet was a cool addition...since I got the thermal sniper scope it was like a dual use scope/binocular.

Dude, I love my thermal goggled helmet. f*ck the paywall that GR put up. LOL Don't even grief with it. Just use it to even the playing field with the OP AI and their ability to see through hills, bushes, walls ect. Seriously one of my fav additions AND you can set it up to activate when you put the goggles down/visor down. Pretty sweet.

 

Against players? PvP? Jebus this is the equivalent of a wallhack imo.

Just found out executive Search target can be seen just like any other player with Thermal.
