ChiroVette
Okay, thanks to the sage advice of some in this forum, I think that in June, after that update and installing the June version of ScripthookV, I set GTA V to NOT update automatically. Good....at least I think. When I view my Stream Library of games, "Grand Theft Auto V" is written in blue letters, and next to it, after a dash, it says, "Update Required." So assuming I did this right (though I still don't understand how to back up the files and such) can I boot up the game and play it without it updating, and use my mods? Moreover, does this have anything to do with setting Steam to Offline mode? Because I think I remember that GTA won't run if Steam is offline, but I am not sure. And to be honest, I am literally afraid to do ANYTHING to my game that might trigger the update, so until I figure this out and get some answers to this, I am not going to try and play the game. What should I do at this point? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Edited September 1, 2017 by ChiroVette
Official General
Best thing to do is buy the retail copy, the Steam version always has these issues, the Launcher Bypasser is not even compatible with it.

Obviously, I am not going to buy the game a third time, a second time for PC. So that is a moot point. Does anyone here know if I can play the game, maybe in offline mode somehow, without it updating? My understanding is that even though I have not updated yet, that if I run the game it will update. Otherwise, no biggie. I can just wait until Alexander Blade updates Scripthook V. Right now it is still the version launched on June 22nd. ikt
Back up your files, let it update, restore backed up files. Files you'll want to back up: GTA5.exe GTAVLauncher.exe update/update.rpf It's generally a good idea to keep backups of versions instantly after you receive them, so you won't forget it if the next update drops. Its that simple? Awesome! I just created a folder in the GTA V directory and copied those three files over. So basically all I have to do now is let the game update, then simply copy those three files back to the directories they came from originally? Thanks!
