-GTAO protagonist decides to invest in a business that suits his personality so far there's only 3 businesses that don't affect the story (Crates, vehicles and biker business)

-He/she makes the business grow and gets even more money in the process

-Agent 14 calls and the GTAO protagonist buys a bunker thinking also that it's a good opportunity to make even more money

-Ron calls and the GTAO protagonist buys a hangar for again making more money (Trevor has also apparently started to make some changes in his life according to Ron)

It's two different timelines/dimensions.

 

GTA:O timeline started prior to the events of GTA:V. GTA:V timeline assumed you never stepped off of that plane or, if you did, you didn't climb up any further than a basic street hustler with Lamar.

 

GTA:O timeline is what it is. Franklin never started running with Lamar because Lamar was busy with the street punk who got off the plane. Michael never got back in the game. Trevor never learned Michael was still alive and never ventured outside of Blaine Country, found a street punk to do some low level work until that punk climbed the ladder and eventually worked along side Ron pushing Trevor out of the air trafficking business. With Trevors failed drug running organisation from Series A and losing Ron as his slave he returned to his trailer where he now sits enjoying those bad trips from the weird and wonderful substances consumed over the years.

 

The butterfly effect. You stepping off of that plane changed Los Santos.

 

It's as feasible a reason for inconsistencies as any.

 

So his hair is a different color? You guys seriously haven't noticed the similarities? Their mannerisms? Their voices? It's Steve Haines renamed. I mean it sounds like they have the same voice actor tbh

IMO in GTA Online it's always early 2013 despite post-2013 vehicles being added in game, Benny opening his custom garage, and our protagonists forming organisations or biker gangs.In Online,Stab City is still intact and full of TLMC bikers, O'Neil house that Trevor blows up, the hotel in Paleto Bay that the helicopter crashed on during one of the singleplayer heists and the hospital in LS that Trevor drove a car through in one side mission are intact as well,and Ron mentioned Trevor still being alive despite possibly getting killed in one of the endings.As for Agent 14 mentioning it's 2017,I guess it's just an oversight.

Maybe we could compare it to The Simpsons timeline,in which the characters are always the same age despite the time passing and the world around them changing,and in Online it's always early 2013 despite the world changing.

Remember in single player when you're helping Trevor Phillips with the gun runs with the Cuban 800 for TPI? There's a part where Ron says he could really use the money that Trevor decided he won't be getting for a divorce lawyer (and there's other parts about how he's having issues with his wife, etc).

 

Well since the introduction of the Smuggler's Run update, which be afterwards (Gunrunning Agent 14 mentioned the year) it seems that Ron is still going through the divorce, or it still hasn't started yet. Must be a hard one.

 

Despite all this, the Heists update and Series A Funding (which is supposed to be about getting the relevant stuff ready for his new business venture - Trevor Phillips Industries) shows - at the end - one Impotent Rage statue getting destroyed with Trevor running off into the distance with the other one. Well he's got one of those statues in his trailer in single player. Now it could just be one of any of the Impotent Rage statues, but it makes me ask the question "is that statue from the Series A heist, the one we see here in single player"?

Yeah it is an possibility,but it would make Gta online even more irrelevant for being outsite the main universe.

I agree,some people started playing today for example they didn't do everything in order like someone who started playing the game in 2013,so they see the timeline in a different way.I actually like this and since R* will never mention our Character in future games,nothing can proof wathever really happened leaving it open to the player use his imagination.

Yeah to be honest there isn't a real timeline since it's up to you what your character will do

 

However the one i made was the most logical one i could think of (succesful character going through almost every update in a logical order) and maybe we'll hear about some events from GTAO in the next GTA, probably something like: "Hey man, have you seen all those news about LS? things are kind of f*cked up there aren't they?" or something like "You want me to turn this into another LS or something?!"

Maybe he re-married and is getting another divorce. Something is obviously up... or down perhaps

The Character comes to LS.(Tutorial)

The Chracter is presented to Gerald and Simeon and eventually starts working as an Mercenary.(Tutorial)(Contact missions)

The Character steals some convenience stores

The Character meets with Trevor and Ron for the first time.(Contact missions)

The Character meets with Lester for the first time.(Bounty tutorial,Contact missions)

The Character receives an contract from Martin Madrazo and meets with him for the first time(Contact missions)

The Character does the contact mission called ''Los santos connection'' and meets the Professionals for the first time(Contact missions)

The Character is called by Martin Madrazo and receives info about others factions operating in Los Santos(Gang attacks)

Merryweather arrives in Los Santos and eventually are attacked a few times by an unknow Mercenary(Contact missions)

The Character is called by Merryweather offering a few services.

The Character steals several tankers with chemicals for Lamar and does him some other favors(Contact missions)

The Character completes all contact missions.

The Character steals several gruppe sechs trucks,distracts cops for Lester,steals some hot cars for Simeon,destroys smugglers's planes for Trevor and in the process fight other criminals interested in the same things.(freemode events)

 

These events could take place in the Third and fourth months,it could be possible that they happened during the fifth month too

 

Lester calls the character,and his associate to talk about the Fleeca heist(Heists)

The Character and his associate steals the fleeca bank.(Heists)

Lester calls the Character and his associates to talk about someone looking for an crew to take an score.(Heists)

The Character and his associates meets with Agent 14 for the first time,and after some preparation missions he breaks Rashkovsky out bollingbroke(Heists)

Lester calls the Character and his associates to tell him about another job from Agent 14(heists)

The Character and his associates meets with Agent 14 and after some preparation missions steals some important data from Humane Labs.(Heists)

Lester calls the character and his associates do tell him about some drug dealer looking for an crew(Heists)

The Character and his associates meet again with Trevor and Ron,and after stealing drugs from several gangs they defend and help Trevor delivering the drugs.(Heists)

The Character meets with Lester and after a few preparation missions they steal the Pacific standard(Heists).

 

These events takes place in the fifth month,it could also happen at the sixth month

 

The Character meets with Lamar and is presented to Benny,Lamar tells him about his scheme to get power in the streets by doing sabotage in other gangs(Lowriders)

Lowriders missions happens.

The Character creates his organization with the help of the Securoserv network and does some contracts and in the process fights others organizations interested in the same contract..(executives and other criminals)

The Character expands his business with Securoserv network,while trying to expand his business across LS and Blaine County with cargo the Character had to fight rival factions.(Further adventures in finance and felony)

The Character opens an ''MC'' and with the help of Malc does some contracts while fighting others criminals(Bikers)

 

These events could possible take place in the sixth month and during the start of GTA V,it could also be possible that after The import export events,the game started to take place during the events of GTA V.

 

The Character starts using the Open Road and with the help of LJT starts operating with cocaine,document forgery,meth and weed while fighting rival factions.(Bikers)

The Character starts his Import Export operations with the help of Securoserv,and in the process had to fight rival factions(Import Export)

The Character does some contracts for Securoserv(Special Vehicle missions from Import Export)

These events takes place during the start of GTA V

The Character receives an call from Agent 14 and buys an Bunker.(Gunrunning)

The character starts his Gunrunning operations around LS and Blaine county while fighting rival factions.(Gunrunning freemode events)

The Character does some contracts agaisn't Merryweather for Agent 14(mobile operations)

 

These events takes place after Trevor discovering that Michael is alive and going to LS to meet with him,it could possibly happen a while after GTA V.

 

The Character bought an Hangar and looked for an Partner,for his surprise it ended up being Ron.(Smuggler's run)

The Character starts his Smuggler's Operations around Los Santos and Blaine County while fighting rival factions.(Smuggler's Run freemode events)

 

 

Something i was reading around,most notably on the Wiki,is that people thinks we actually contract the Professionals to protect our Bunker and some Biker Business,you guys know that R* is just reusing their model and they are not really the professionals right?i mean they literally raid our Bunker,it wouldn't make sense to see them working for us,especially after all the attacks we did to their operations.

We know,and like i said before,it is possible that this is just an DEV oversight,and i really hope it is ,anyway it doesn't matter if the storyline is messed up(Merryweather in LS in 2017,unfinished buildings from 2013 not finished yet in 2017) since R* is probably not going to mention the Online events in future games,making them nearly irrelevant.

I think they're actually filling the gap between V and the next GTA

Like i said before,it is possible,but honestly since R* is dumb i think they were writting the dialogues for Agent 14 and accidentally they have forgotten the game takes place in 2013,not in 2017 like the real world,and they just noticed that after the update was releaesed,it doesn't make sense these unfinished buildings and Merryweather being there in 2017

Not even 4 years yet dude, but close. And we had an update to the music between last gen and current gen, plus the addition of a whole station near the end of last gen updates.

 

However I agree. Luckily Xbox One has spotify now so Options, Music, 0. Start up spotify, play music I want (except it plays outside of vehicles too so loses that little bit of immersion).

I agree,just make these buildings fully constructed during freemode,they could even make an cool interior and give us some missions inside of it,Make the O'Neil House and Stab City appear during missions too,but free mode fully destroyed.Kick merryweather asses out the Docks and i can accept that we are in 2017 and it is not an mistake.

 

But i prefer staying in 2013,if they want us to be in 2017,just give us an new game in 2017 where everything will make sense.

Yes my friend,our Character wouldn't be in that messed timeline if they did that from the start,now the least we can do is put some glue there and there and pretend this timeline makes any sense,anyway i think we already explained to that guy about 14 and Haines,so basically this nonsense discussion about them being the same is over.

Of course this doesn't need an thread every 2 weeks,that is why we have an Main thread to discuss the Timeline now.

And like i mentioned before,Merryweather being in LS docks during 2017,Unfinished buildings,a lot of other stuff like 2013 TV,2013 Radio doesn't make sense,how you explain that?

The alternate reality theory is the one that makes the most sense for me. Rockstar sees GTA Online as a separate game, so I can imagine that they see the GTA Online universe as a whole different universe different from that of single player as well.

I don't think Rockstar give a sh*t about things fitting neatly in and making sense between online and SP so I don't either. If they were pressed on it they'd probably mutter something about alternate realities.

Ron has his ''Smuggler'' skills,being able to locate Merryweather Cargo Planes and other Factions operations for us,but Lamar?what the hell he could give me?Ballas info?nah i don't need to know what the Ballas are doing.

C is taken canon by 90% of the community,While 5% of the community hate Michael and killed him,while the other 5% love Johnny Klebitz and killed Trevor,but none of the endings are canon until R* confirms it.And honestly it should stay like that,A and B were good endings,but that C ending was just,too happy,everything gone perfectly for the Characters,criminals doesn't get good endings,that is why i love GTA IV ending.(my opinion of course)
