BIG fan of the Hangar, but NOT the cargo missions...

The missions are fun to play if you are doing it just for fun not for money.

What's so fun about spending ten plus minutes flying around Los Santos in slow aircraft trying to find where your cargo is? Like maybe 20% of the stealing missions in this update are actually "fun", the rest are painstakingly dragged out and boring.

The least they could have done to offset the monotony is to make the business somewhat profitable but nope, not only are the majority of missions dull and uninspired, but there's no incentive behind doing them either unless you have literally nothing else to do and just want to play them for the sake of playing them.

Take your own aircraft. The "sponsored" aircraft by Ron are anywhere between mediocre and terrible for the job at hand.

More specifically, bust out your Hydra for everything else than the stunt one, and your Buzzard for that one.

I forgot about the stunt mission in the Buckingham Howard NX-25. First attempt was dreadful, but second attempt managed to knife flight between the buildings just fine.

I think the new planes are generally excellent, but I'm not sure I'll actually buy the Howard NX-25 when it's drip-fed to us, and I didn't really like Buckingham Alpha-Z1 either.

Doesn't take away from the dullness of the missions.

can you steal planes and helis and store them in your hanger?

tbh, I only have and need only 2 planes, not really worth a hangar for

Some of the of the source missions are fun IMHO but not that varied and I think they will get old quickly.

I like the Molotok against the cargo planes mission - mainly because you get to actually fly that thing and roleplay in a Russian MIG-15. It gives you the opportunity to decide before you buy too, and I also like the Rogue WWII fighter mission against the useless pack of endless and extremely incompetent Merryweather Lazers, because it does the same thing - let's you test and roleplay in this great aircraft.

I'll be honest - I've eagerly awaited the release of the Hunter; not just for me but for so many helisexuality friends and fans, but the Hunter cargo mission seriously sucks ass. Once if fun, twice is tolerable, but after that it's so... uhhh! And to top if all off, let's dump the Hunter and deliver the product in a POST-OP DELIVERY VAN hidden behind Mt. Chiliad! What were the developers thinking? Yeah, and all of this for 10k  .

Btw, you can just destroy the vehicle the cargo is in and take it back to your hangar however you please. They tell you that in the top left in-game propt commands.

SERIOUSLY? OMG, thanks mate. You can imagine me and zillions of others screaming at the TV whilst driving that piece of post-op van junk. OMG, what a dick I am  .

I got a mission today where I had to parachute into the prison and escape with the van. I don't think destroying it was an option: just drive it back or use a Cargobob to carry it back.

Otherwise, you can CAN destroy the vehicle to bring the package back.

You can't do that with a $50,000+ car; why would you think they'd let you do that with a $1,250,000 plane?

Why would you want a hangar?

  • You can put your own Pegasus aircraft in a hanger and convert them to Personal Aircraft and respray them (with the $1.1M Workshop option).
  • You will get a Cuban 800 that you can add bombs to.
  • You can use Smuggling missions to unlock the trade price for any of the new aircraft you want. In some cases the discount is more than the cost of a cheap hangar
  • A Fort Zancudo hangar ($2M-$3.2M) also gives you admission to the base and airspace around it. You can grab a Lazar or steal a tank with a Cargobob right outside your door, if you want.
  • Without a hangar you can't purchase any of the new aircraft

You're not always notified that the vehicle can be destroyed. Rogue can be destroyed(Mackenzie and Sandy Shores variations). Eventually the Frogger too(Buccaner View location, kill Koreans mission; they have Homing Launchers).

well i do like the supply missions.

but only because it features all the new aircraft. special missions would have been better but then you would need a team so for me it's not that much of a problem anymore.

i haven't tried to sell yet and never will just because it's not worth it.

another GREAT thing about the hanger is NO RESEARCH! boy i am happy for that!

sure the workshop is a HUGE investment but i rather have that then spending a couple 100k less but have to research (MOC).

it's like rockstar took note of the research problems and just said "f*ck it let's ditch that and just make the workshop more expensive" and yeah that actually was a great idea.

I don't know what you're talking about. 10 minutes? I fu*king wish!

Started the stunt pilot collection mission From FZ. Fly into LS and fly around in a plane whose controls are WAY too sensitive and crash 3 times flying under a series of bridges in the LS river. Bridges that I could fly other planes under blind folded but this one is too fast and squrily. Like driving a Dodge Viper in the snow with racing slicks on.

One of the crashes did not end with my death. The plane hit an abutment and ended up on it's roof.

Ok, climb out and where is the icon to spawn another plane? No where. Ok, shoot the plane till it explodes.....still nothing.... No. You don't mean...yep. I have to over cook a grenade and DIE to spawn a new plane and it's at 4000 ft.

Dive back down and crash again instantly because I'm now doing warp speed and the plane still turns on a dime until your upside down when it suddenly like flying in molasses.

Spawn again at 5000 feet. Gah. Finish the "stunts" by flying under the highway at LSIA and the god damn supplies, I sh*t you not, appear on the beach NORTH OF POLETO BAY!!!

Fly all the way up there, crash the last plane trying to land on a busy highway, collect the product and call in my CEO Buzzard to fly around chilliad and back to FZ.

Total time spent? 47 minutes.

Profit? $10,000.

Complete waste of time? YOU FU*KING SKIPPY.

In that same amount of time I could have sold two IE cars from my lockup ($80k x 2) sold two baby blue Sandkings ($18k x 2) and run Headhunter 2 times. ($21k x 2).

$238,000 vs $10,000.

Yeah. This updates profit margins are BS.

Wait. Subtract Ron's cut and it's actually only $9,000.

Non Funkable Token

I like the hangar, and trying to master new planes which is quite new for me actually. I enjoy playing the missions, will probably be playing them for a while.

Drawback is the disappointing payouts, I agree on that... I love to play with a small group of friends, great fun to play together. However most of them are more short on cash than I am, so motivation for these missions will go subzero in no-time I'm afraid...

I can't believe you drove a post OP van from Mt.Chiliad to LSIA

Oh, I f*cking-well did, mate. And almost lost my mind too, and FAILED it due to lack of remaining time :lol: .

EIGHT minutes of post-op van misery driving down the freeway listening to Johnny Paycheck and the Sneaker Pimps (both awesome btw).

If I remember correctly you were allowed to destroy the Van, and take the cargo.. So you should be able to fly back with yr Hunter.

Oh boy........... If I would know this before the 10 km trip from Paleto Bay to LSIA in that Mule........ :panic:

Or you could have never entered the Howard, calling your CEO Buzzard in right away (or getting one from your hangar or Pegasus, anything), and do a nice, laid back under-the-bridge run in the LS Storm Drains, plus about 3 more bridges of your choice.

Hell, I some fun doing this in a Besra once, which is nowhere as safe as a Buzzard but more thrilling (... while being controllable, unlike the Howard).

Look, I get it that whatever aircraft Ron gives you might look tempting, but like I've said before it's the most efficient to use your own Hydra and Buzzard. Hell, remember Base Invaders? If that contact mission has taught anyone anything, it's that you never use a plane provided by Ron.

I always get into businesses if I get sucked into them; that is, I must feel a need to get involved. I know it when I feel it. I flet oit with MC businesses and it was a no-brainer, made my first millions. Same with I/E. I never needed crates. Whatever it was before this update lol I didn't need either.

But I love my Bunkers, MOCs and Hangers. :D

Geisterfaust

The steal missions are the worst thing about this update, period.

Wait until you will be selling 1 crate in 3 vehicles.

I have a mixed feelings about this update. First of all, Hunter is very damn welcome. Second, it's not really here. There were serious bugs too: on PC textures were disappearing but that was patched and cross-platform there is something fundamentally wrong with bombs, when the cheapest are the best. Hangar is awesome, but missions suck not only because of pay, but also because of repetitiveness and that's elevating payment issue even higher. The fact that new and converted planes are PVs and protected by BS points on consoles is beyond my tolerance level, this is complete bollocks. Spawn points for aircraft sucks: why can't I have my PV Hydra in the same place my Pegasus will be spawned? This also brings a question of reverse Pegasus conversion: R* already ripped me off for Hangar, so why can't I have these precious ability to call my Rogue or Molotok as Pegasus, will it be too OP? Makes no sense for me.

Vehicle-wise, there are germs. First of all, Ultralight is awesome to cruise off-radar and just mock around. Rogue is dogfighting king: in a proper hands this thing will decimate Lazers/ Hydras, but still not really suited against ground targets. Makes sense in way that it may keep a counter on jet-abusing Hydra lovers. A lot was said about Z-1 and I can see that's love it or hate it situation. This thing is the fastest in the game, beats even Hydra on top speed and Lazer in acceleration and handling-wise it's Mallard on meth. I'm mediocre pilot myself, but it looks like Z-1 is better controlled with higher fps, which pretty much explains why most of my PC friends are so excited about it. And boy, do I love this thing to fly around. Tula looks useless for me because of how big and slow this thing is, Molotok is pretty much Savage missile equipped jet with a Lazer handling and without explosive cannon. I can't get Starling though. If you ask me, there is no use in this thing.

The fact that the AI of NPCs flying vehicles of any kind is as retarded as it was on Day 1 and has to cheat via infinite instant spawns on the player and catch-up boosting is incredibly infuriating. It's exactly the same things I've complained about NPCs in general since the game released, and absolutely nothing has changed.

I mean, the NPC jets are so slow to maneuver I can literally fly circles around them firing off lock-on rockets that will kill them 90% from almost any angle. They literally fly so slow when you are close to them that trying to follow in your own identical jet will cause you to stall from moving so slow, yet if you leave them behind they will either respawn practically next to you or will gain a suddeninsane burst of speed to catch up (I recorded a video of two NPC Nokotas trying to follow me in a Hydra while all three of us are going full speed, then suddenly gaining a huge speed boost to catch up when I got too far ahead).

It's not as though I can't have fun with parts of this, and I used to cut GTA slack because it wasn't a dedicated flying game. Now that we have a flying specific DLC though... it's high time I say that I haven't encountered an air-to-air flying experience this bad since I played Air Conflicts Vietnam.

I agree with you Jenkiiii. I love owning a hanger for my plane collection but as far as making money is concerned I see this as a dud. My friend bought this as a means to make money and I think it was a bad move since it's their only business. It is so awesome seeing my plane/chopper collection right in front of my eyes for the first time.

Never would have I thought I'd be having a proper dogfight in GTA Online with NPCs.

You've never done the Humane Labs heist?

Eh when ever I think of dogfights, I always think of just planes to be honest. You're not wrong though.

Has anyone been able to fill up the Hangar with Contrabands? I think $40,000 per 3 space in the Hangar could be a good profit if filled then sold. I/E still beats the amount of money we get by a long shot.

Well, I haven't read everything you've written. My bad I guess. ;)

In all seriousness I learned very early on that my own aircraft are far more reliable. I was trying to make a point regarding the futility of the missions when played as designed.

That being said, even in a laser it would have taken way too long for the pathetic payout provided.

I agree with everything you say. Everything is drawn out to take as long as possible and hopefully fail from a R* point of view. And when you do collect that package - a measly TEN thousand. Wow! New players coming into to GTA online, and buying that hanger in order to 'make' money, are going to be in for a big surprise. On XB1, it's known as press the 'Y' button to access the Xbox store!

I love this update, the missions are more difficult. the thing I don't like is when you are making a pick up on a plane you have to get off and pick it up. as soon as you pick up the package 2 npc buzzards spawn shooting you while you try to run to your plane, if you destroy them 2 new buzzards will spawn behind you instantly. So I just destroy one and get in my plane when I'm up it's payback 👿

Over all I love the new source missions I don't mind the pay but it doesn't take me 45 minutes 😂

Hangars great, missions are kinda fun, money is sh*t. The worst part of this whole doc is that you can't have a car and an aircraft out at the same time. Oh and they want 6.5 mil for the Lazer and it has no upgrades. The Hunter is a slight disappointment as well but I'll still buy it because I've waited for it for 4 years.
