You need to take shadows and LOD (Level of Detail) into account.

 

From my experience, any plane looks dark when you look at it from the ground. And remember that Hydra is white by default, yet explosive snipers have no trouble spotting one.

This man speaks the truth. Colour it however you want - it'll still look like a dark plane shaped blob from the ground when people are trying to shoot you down.

Midnight purple or midnight blue for night flights

 

 

Boom, both my kid & I have that choice. Hint you can also make your crew color to look like sky. Kid is researching it but so far the purple/blues in dark for now. See you out there, or not lol.

Thermal optics a given for dispatching those explosive projectiles though as well as off radar.

The sound alone is a give away.

If for some reason someone is playing with no sound, the shadow is a clear indication of a jet being near - and bear in mind those shadows cast quite a distance.

 

I went for anthracite black because I liked how it looked.

BTW while testing colors @ night I lost sight when she killed power. Nice option for strategy.

 

 

 

Daytime favorite = Matte desert tan @ $2170.

 

Night time = Matte foliage green @ $2100.

 

Carbon black under racing blue is almost as good @ night if you need bling.

But keep in mind, on low graphic settings and reflections turned off it will be pure black.

My daughter told me not to tell but she kills me a lot by "accident" so....lol. Take a Pic of the sky during the day and use that color coding to duplicate your crew color. That said the code should vary with the time of day or night. I will also do the Savage belly that code. Thanks for everyone's input!

At certain times of day, probably.

I painted all my helicopters and jets the same color as the US airforce. The color only gives you 10% chance of a suprise attack given the tech we have to dispach jets. So color it what you want. Makes almost no difference in stealth ability because there isnt any. Lol.

I wonder if painting it pink or lime green, making you look like a light house in the middle of a dark room, might actually make players don't see you as a serious threat but more as a pranker.
