This is annoying I'm minding my own business in a session and I get kicked they should disable kicking of players if they haven't killed any other player in that session I'm just trying to hang out and I get kicked in afraid that I'm about to be put in a bad sport lobby just because people are assholes

you will not be put in a bad sport lobby, but players kicking you out for no reason isn't right.

As much as this sucks cause there's situations where there's someone just like you, minding their own business and keeping their distance, there's also many other situations where that white dot that's been at LS Customs working on his Sultan suddenly wants to blow up your cargo delivery and put hours of work down the drain in a matter of seconds. Once 2 or plus friends get a session where they can start kicking people out they should (sort of, contradicting myself later on) definitely do it if they plan on making big moves. I've done less stressful sales that I don't really mind such as I/E cars in sessions with 5-7 people but if I sell a warehouse of crates, for example, I'd make damn sure that I can get everyone out of the lobby and start streaming Netflix to increase my lag. The issue with that method is that it's very dick-ish and that there's other methods such as the wifi method to lag everyone out and have your own session - no kicking required. That's hands down the "coolest" way to handle how R* have set up their game to focus on PvP. A big finger to R* is by making your own session.

So yeah, it's definitely a bitch move to kick people when there's other alternatives but with how GTA is set up and how trigger-happy some players can be I understand if I get kicked. Just find a new session and move on, not worth spilling words and rage on the issue.

You're not getting put in bad sport over that. Please accept that the guys who kicked you are just looking for peace and privacy. It's nothing personal.

The hell are you, you been brainwashed by the mods didn't you?

I mean, before the Smuggler's Run update, we already had two or three threads about being kicked randomly.

Now, in the last few days there's been two or threads alone created. I wonder if forums should remove the search function? :/

I suggest the mods merged them all into one big thread since this issue wont be fixed soon and not be the the last of it.

What is your rank? Due to my high rank, a lot of people think I'm a modder and kick me or harass me for money.

I can confirm this. Being nearly level 400, I am insta-kicked from just about anything I try and take part in. I haven't played Contact missions in a very long time, lol. Lobbies also seem to fear me by default. The moment I jump in, people either harass me, or kick me. It does help in a strange way, though. I spend most of my time in lobbies of 2-3 other level 2-800's doing their own CEO work in peace. Edited by Omnifarious

This is wrong. For every vote you also get bad-sport points and this can sum up until you are in bad-sports. Good thing i play on pc without this bullsh*t.

You should learn to change the mtu settings on your router instead of being a dick, it's not that hard.

Because if you f*cking join a lobby with one person, that means hes probably grinding and if youre at least a little respectful you should just leave or lag out or something so you dont interrupt his money making by making the lobby more active - more players in a lobby, bigger chance the lobby getting filled faster.

I dont know hoe you got kicked by only one player though. But you deserved it.

No respect would be sending a text asking, or keep an eye on what they are doing before kicking, being a DICK is what you guys are for just kicking for no reason other then being stupid. Most just want to work there crates and ceo jobs and be left alone and let you do the same.

I think that's it for me and GTA Online after tonight. Kicked 6 times in less than an hour. Ever since Smugglers Run and since i hit 400 rank i spend more time looking at a loading screen than i do getting to play the actual game.

I never bother anyone unless they bother me. In fact i spend a lot of time helping others. Sometimes i don't even get the chance to leave my building before i'm kicked. Then i get multiple players attack me, lose, then vote kick me from being butt hurt. The games become unplayable. GTA Online has become a total cesspit of a place. Back to campaign only gaming for me.

Bad sport points get deleted over time. Doing missions and stuff also gets rid of them. No one has ever been put in Bad Sport for being kicked alone, end of story.

For kicking to put you in bad sport, you would also have to be destroying cars and quitting missions left and right.

Not true. I had a guy once i killed a couple of times. He was so pissed that he was only sitting in his apartment, placed a votekick on me and reported me all 10 minutes. He also told the other guys to report me and votekick me too. I wasn´t doing much, just sorting garages. After a while (around 1 hour) i got the dunce cap. So i invited some of my friends (i was still in the good sports lobby) and let them commend me 2 hours straight. My bad sports was gone. This was before the removal of bad sports. It sums up and gets you bad sport 100%. But i don´t have to deal with mad suckers like this anymore, thanks to the removal of bad sports on pc.

There are also enough "trolling" videos on youtube of guys, who report players into bad sports just for sh*t n giggles.

I find that getting kicked from a session without provocation far less annoying than having some random disrupt my buying or selling.

I find that CEOs who wish to sell in peace are facing a personal problem and should find means to play solo without affecting others.

CEOs can simply leave the session until they find a better lobby or lag themselves out instead of making someone else leave because they're too wracked with paranoia.

You skipped out the part where I said you can achieve the same results by lagging yourself or tweaking with your firewall settings. Votekicking is f*cking over other people and is a sh*t alternative in that regard.

...Not everyone wants to f*ck with their firewalls and lag themselves out.

Even if they do.. That doesn't help when a few friends want to play together. What?.. gonna lag out your friends too and invite them back everytime someone joins?

Vote kick is faster and easier.. And theres no such thing as abusing vote kick.. Theres no right or wrong way to vote kick someone.

You can vote kick someone if you don't like the color of their Panto, if you felt like it..

:sigh:

Aaand this game is balanced, R* releases perfect updates, and it is a verry realistic game too, right ?

I was in an empty session selling a IE car... someone joined and voted to kick me.

He assumed he was safe after that...

WRONG !

Called my Hydra, started HH and killed him untill the timer was up.

A prick joined in the main time, also vote kicking me and trying to kill me.

Then got the surprising 'ALERT' screen.

I use to be against vote kicking but honestly now I'm for it in certain situations. Griefers and mentally stunted shark card babies are out in full force since the last DLC's. If me and a friend go through trouble of starting up a solo public session on Xbox for our friends/crew mates to peacefully do work and have fun in, I am sorry but if we don't know you, you gotta go. I know it's sad but you will find a new session.

I use to say to people, hey this player seems nice or hey let's give this person a chance but issue is as more randoms join in the more a$$holes join in and then you end up outnumbered so if session goes to sh*t there isn't anything you can do.

I run with a large group of people so we can easily handle ourselves so it's not that we can't defend ourselves if needed but sometimes we just like to chill.

I'll take another kick at this dead horse of a topic.

What if the CEO and his buddy are in the session first? Should they leave it just to accommodate you? Or get on the mic to ask if you're friendly just to see you start up Hostile Takeover?

I rarely vote to kick people but don't really get why some take it as a personal insult.

The only time I strongly disagree with kicking is when I'm halfway through a mission/survival and get kicked. Once got kicked from a survival because as they put it I was "stealing their kills".

f*ck that for a game of soldiers. There's nothing to say he didn't end up there on his own because of a split session like many of us do.

I'm not treating public lobbies as if I have just accidentally walked in on some dude taking a sh*t in private "Oops, sorry guy, my bad!" before backing out again.

Not sure what Hostile Takeover has to do with anything, seems like you're thinking of a specific situation.

If the CEO and his buddy are in the session first then they simply carry on and do whatever they're doing. If a CEO decides to leave because there's other people in the lobby that's their personal decision. No one forced them to leave or even asked them to do so. Yeah, people have the potential to destroy their cargo but such is the nature of GTA Online.

I don't understand the logic that a CEO is being accommodating simply for not kicking someone. Just because they were there first doesn't grant them ownership. It's a PUBLIC lobby, not first come, first serve, everyone else deserves to be kicked.

I rarely vote to kick people but don't really get why some take it as a personal insult.

It's not insulting, it's simply unnecessary. If CEOs want to sell alone that's their prerogative and they should achieve that without affecting anyone else.

.The only time I strongly disagree with kicking is when I'm halfway through a mission/survival and get kicked. Once got kicked from a survival because as they put it I was "stealing their kills"

Ive had attempts to that. Was on other side of map as the player. had no intentions of going to attack him/her. I was doing my own thing. But whatever.

Ok.

If you start a VIP/CEO job, it stops you from being kicked out of the lobby, and Hostile Takeover has a 30 minute timer, that gives you 30 minutes in the lobby.
