I loaded into a lobby with only 1 other person, and he easily had me kicked. I was just in my office reviewing my stuff.

I was told to behave, but I had no say in the matter. Before I could react, I was removed. It felt like a low blow.

If it was only you and one other person, you can't be removed from the lobby, it takes >50% to be kicked.

It makes sense. He alone accounts for 50% of the lobby, or maybe he had a friend join him while I was in the menus.

Some of the players are paranoic now. Sitting in empty lobbies and kicking everyone.

That's why I used the > (greater than). 50% is not enough to be kicked out of the session.

I can confirm it takes >50% or more than one vote. I was in a lobby with one other yesterday for a short time, I joined a lobby he clearly wanted to solo. I was voted almost instantly, I remained in it, I voted back (this may have impacted the kick, I do not know), then did CEO work while he hid from me.

It took around an hour, maybe more, for him to quit sending stupid messages and end it with "you'll be leaving the session in a minute"... a few minutes later, in comes his crew mate. Started a CEO job, got an extra 10 minutes out of it. Job finished, I was kicked. All because he tried taking me on, failed and had to hide.

Kicking to gain an empty session does need addressing since it's abused so much, especially now.

This has happened to me also. In my case, I was just driving around taking pictures alone in a public lobby when someone joined me. A few seconds later the kick message appeared and the other guy's crew mate joined then he voted to kick as well. It's a dick move.

nope its actually 50% + 1

in a 30 player lobby 15 people can vote to kick you out and nothing would happen, unless an extra person vote to kick, so thats 50% of the lobby + 1

R* made us like this. I would do the same if I was on console. I don't want randumbs in my session blowing me up.

"Git gud" people will say and I'm like no it's not being a dick.

i'm on xbox one and i've been kicked from adversary modes (i was even kicked from one that i was hosting recently), plus i've been kicked for no reason from free roam and back in my 360 days i was kicked from a survival mode.

i'm guessing some players ether don't like how you've got a adversary mode set up or they just want you out so a friend can join or maybe they're just jerks.

As soon as you see a vote to kick message start a VIP job preferably fully loaded and kill that crew 50 times in the 20 minutes that buys you before you get kicked. I always do that, I enter a lobby peacefully but I can turn angry if I see vote to kick :).

Not sure of the OP's platform, but stories like this always amuse me, because when I've found myself in this sort of situation my first reaction is to simply re-trigger the conditions that put me in a solo lobby in the first place (i.e. by calling upon the powers of the wireless router). Not to try to kick the person who just joined my session of 1.

On a related note though, I did lose an I/E vehicle during the x2 event because someone joined and loaded in while I was sourcing a vehicle, then left... which of course made the vehicle catch fire and explode before I could store it, and arguably did more damage than if they had tried to come after me. :panic:

I agree with the guy above, if they try and kick you then start a CEO/VIP mission and destroy them until they leave.

Because if you f*cking join a lobby with one person, that means hes probably grinding and if youre at least a little respectful you should just leave or lag out or something so you dont interrupt his money making by making the lobby more active - more players in a lobby, bigger chance the lobby getting filled faster.

I dont know hoe you got kicked by only one player though. But you deserved it.

My first reaction is usually wait and see if they're okay first, as the benefits are just too good to pass up (no NPCs during I/E sales, but small bonus to MC/Gunrunning for those who favor those), then yeah.... if they're showing any signs of trouble, relag. Unless I'm with crewmates already, and we have kick power (rather than splitting and dealing with the hassle of rejoining sessions).

But then, it's also become clear over the years that common sense isn't so common among those playing. :p

Referring to your last sentence in that quote, this reminds me of a funny story that happened to me months ago. The lobby I was in was full, but it eventually whittled down to just me and three players who were all part of the same crew and in an Organisation together.

For a good hour and a half I left them alone, doing my thing (crates, I/E etc) and so were they.

Then... they started executive search.

So I took time out of my busy schedule to relieve them of the boring 15 minutes they'd have otherwise had ahead of them if I hadn't taken part. I thought it was the kind thing, y'know, to provide them with some entertainment beyond walking in circles air thrusting and pointing. They were in the scrapyard near the arena. I went straight in, all guns blazing, managed to down the two associates and found the CEO almost immediately, hiding around the corner and I shotgunned him. Their executive search literally lasted about 2 minutes, so I don't think they were pleased.

They attempted to spawn kill me, but I was holding my own and getting a fair share of kills in return. They all then proceeded to kick me.

The thing that annoys me is, though, they started executive search, which is basically an open invitation to anyone in the lobby to come and take on the challenge. They might as well have said, "hey you, come and find our CEO... but you're not allowed to win because we'll get bitter and kick you". It's both hilarious and annoying that they got all arse about face because someone dared participate and beat them. Oh, how dare I?! . You can't honestly begin that job and expect people to just leave you alone, though? The nerve of some people.

If they are in a session alone cant you just find them through your recently met people and rejoin the session?

They cant ban you from rejoining and as far as I know (At least on Xbox) there is a cool down period before they can vote to kick again.

Takes a little more than that but yes, you can find them again.

Depending on how much of a dick they were for kicking me I sometimes send a message so they are in my inbox too, then I can find them days later and surprise them :)

You know when I see posts like this, I actually applaud people who blow up people's stuff, at least to people like this dickhead. f*ck the guy who was in the session first, if he wanted to be alone so badly, why doesn't he lag out? Why should anyone be punished for your (read: anyone who does this) actions?

And no, don't blame Rockstar. Yes, the system is f*cked. But voteabuse is only adding to the problem, and f*cking over other people. It doesn't solve anything. You can achieve the same results without voting by lagging yourself out or adjusting your firewall settings. Refusing to do so makes people like YOU the bigger c*nts. Respect is a two way street buddy boy, remember that.
