Have Rockstar ever made any comments about reworking the bad sport system?

As most have said, it plays a part in funding R* through forced cash card sales so they're just as likely to remove this as they are to fix the sh*tty payouts for most enjoyable things in the game.

It's 2017. We can have personal fighter jets with insurance fees and bad sport warnings. Still can't go passive while in a harmless swift deluxe. For a 5m price tag the least you could expect is the ability to go passive. But nooo. GG C*

I completely agree I find it ridiculous that you have to pay for destroying someone's armed personal vehicle being destroyed.

 

I doubt they will fix it considering how much money it generates, that and would mean they alter the insurance system for personal vehicles that costs time and money for them.

Bad sport has been an incredibly stupid idea since 2013. People mostly turned a blind eye to it until vehicles with actual armor (not the plebeian armor of LSC) were added with the Heists Update. I'm talking about the Armored Kuruma and Insurgent, which were widely used to troll and those who dared to destroy them in self-defense were threatened with banishment to the land of Bad Sports, along with a hefty insurance bill. And as if this wasn't enough of an outrage, with Gunrunning came weaponized PVs, including a tank on steroids and a flying bike that shoots missiles, with 20k insurance bills and BS warnings tied to them. And now you can be a bad sport for destroying a fighter jet...

 

And the icing on the cake: This is all in a game where griefing is blatantly encouraged. Which just so happens to contradict the very reason behind Bad Sport's existence... That's Rockstar logic for you.
