Have Rockstar ever made any comments about reworking the bad sport system?

I was sitting here think that it's a little odd for armed vehicles to incur a bad sport penalty. I was being relentlessy hunted by an Opressor, and in the process I "accidently" destroyed his bike. Then I came to question, of why do armed vehicles incur bad sport? They are armed, as they are designed for combat, but it is in poor show to engage these vehicles. Odd. Only they are allowed to engage other targets, haha. I can maaaaybe see insurance, but I still think insurance in this game is complete nonsense, and only there to drain bank accounts to increase annual revenue. (Seriously, even aircraft have insurance now.)

 

As it stands, as long as it is considered a personal vehicle, no matter what, destroying it incurs bad sport points. Whether it's a military grade VTOL jet, (But only if it's spawned from one button on the menu, and not the other. Another silly thing with the game. ) or a station wagon. I wonder if they'll ever take the time to separate the categories? Probably not. It wouldn't make them any money. I do see them take the time in new updates to change certain things on NEW content, but not old content. (They made it so that when the Hunter fires missiles, they disappear as they're fired from the racks, this is not the case on anything else that I know of. They often compound new content, but don't bring the old content in line with the new stuff. Like the Savage, took two years to get an armor upgrade, but for explosives only. Snow balls and 5 or 6 pistol rounds still disable it. It will be left in the dust when the Hunter releases, not having armor or counter measures of its own, despite being within the same price range, and being a gunship of relative merit)

It loses people money, so I don't think it'll ever be changed.

 

Even the complaints they somewhat tried to fix, like jets and helis vs homing launchers, etc. - they took forever, and a lot of complaining.

Why even have other players in a lobby at that point?

I miss those from GTA IV! I've made this suggestion in the past. It'd be a simple and perfect solution. Don't like bad sport? Play in a free for all server. Everything goes, like in GTA IV. I would also love friendly servers back again. Knowing Rockstar, though, it would be set so that you can't do Biker/CEO/Smuggler/Bunker stuff while in a friendly server...

I'm blowing up oppressors all the day, but only got bad sport warning, when accidently destroyed some low level's personal Dominator. May be military vehicles don't count.

Also I wish they give bs points for killing when you off radar\ghost org, which is bad sport indeed.

Bad sports needs scrapping. It'll populate the normal servers even more, and allow me to defend my self (without bad sports worry) against opressor trolls. Paying 1k every time an aircraft is destroyed is stupid also. 1k mounts up and it just decreases the profit you make even further from hangar DLC.

Not to mention, when I was thrown in BS while doing my CMM run (which I tried to dispute since I was in invite only and only doing the heists at the time and hadn't destroyed vehicles, only disconnected due to network issues on old gen), they said there was nothing they could do to remove the BS from my account or even take me out of BS. I even made a sarcastic comment to the tech guy on the phone and said something along the lines of "so I need a modder to remove me then?".

Beyond weeding out those who rage quit or otherwise troll missions/heists etc. I don't see the point.

 

The R* bean counters have figured out that Timmy ten year old in his jet or other mobile rocket launcher (his mom) buys more shark cards than people who just want to do their own thing and every single piece of content is designed to reward or encourage him. I suspect that having R* punish their victims for trying to defend themselves adds even more appeal to trolls so these features aren't going anywhere.

They can.

 

They removed insurance charges on PC because of modders draining others accounts with the penalty, and that is old code as well.

 

In the end, they just won't do this because they want the game to be frustrating as possible and push you to buy a shark card to avoid the grind.

How does BS points come in to Shark Card sales at all? Shark Cards often get the blame but in this case they aren't even connected (are they?).

 

Insurance charges have been adjusted in the past, the $20k cap was added a while back and you're right, PC had insurance removed. Did PC have bad sport points also removed for PVs?

yep its bullsh*t they cant remove you from there yet for $5 a modder can get you out, which is what i did a lot of times, i mean i got into badsport 13 times

It's not about the quantity or getting into Bad Sport points that concern us, it's the principle:

 

We literally can't defend ourselves without being penalized for it, which goes against the rules, it makes no f*cking sense if we aren't the ones starting a fight.

 

And now, with weaponized personal vehicles and personal aircrafts(including jets) things have just gone a step further in the wrong path in that regard.

 

In fact, the whole concept of insurance charges and Bad Sport points for blowing up PVs doesn't work in this game were PVs can be abused to annoy other players.

It's not about the quantity or getting into Bad Sport points that concern us, it's the principle....

This is one of those rare occasions where the principle should not matter. Who cares if we get points we can't even see? As long as it does not affect our gameplay, we shouldn't stress over it. And by that, I mean making it easy to penalize us for it. I think it's stupid as well, but just chalk it up to good ole' Rockstar logic, ignore it and enjoy the game as usual.

You are bad player for destroy a Ruiner 2000, an APC and now a Hydra? WTF ROCKSTAR?

I just play alternating or one VIP Work and Criminal Mischief (Biker Challenge) or Executive Search and Stay your ground all the time, so no bad player points and no vehicle insurance.

This is a total non-sense.. like it have been said, weaponised vehicle should be consider as personal vehicle.. you try to defend yourself agains a new hydra paint in gold? bad sport point. You blow up an APC who is coming for you? bad sport point. A pink buzzard is flying after you and you try to shoot it? bad sport point. you wanna engage the fight against a Molotok in your brand new Rogue? Bad sport point.. but you can blow up as many Rhino as you want. Regular buzzard? ok to destroy, personal buzzard? bad sport point.. This is beyond stupid and the principle of bad sport should be removed.. (i've been in bad sport pool 4 or 5 time since the begin of the game.. and every time, the time that you spent in it just get doubled.. )

That changing old code excuse is 50/50 bulls*it in my eyes. They removed insurance charges on pc for a while, they changed the mors mutual layout making it worse, changed up the interaction menu,made it so animals can't call the cops on you which was there since DAY 1,also back in the last gen days edited cop behaviour to not detect stolen vehicles straight away,etc etc. What WOULD cause instability would be removing vehicles and what not from the game. Also yes R* encourages people to grief so that they could potentially spend money for shark cards to get the new toys without consequence. So yes in a way, shark cards are to blame.Also,bad sport points can also be obtained by other players kicking you or false reporting you which is BS in and of itself. To quote Dr. Octavious from spiderman 2,they(R*)are brilliant but lazy.

They can disable it if they want, anytime they want..

 

Insurance and BS is disabled on PC.
