Tula - is it worth it?

As someone who doesn't play with friends too often, I can't figure out whether I should buy the Tula. It's certainly practical, but in the steal missions where you use it it seems weirdly weak. It'll be fun when I do play with friends, but I don't know whether I should get it or not. Opinions?

I'm asking myself same question... It's convenient for the mission that already provides one, but I don't see a lot of other uses for that sum of money.

I might consider buying it when it's on sale, not for the normal price.

The general consensus seems to be that none of the new vehicles bring much to the table that older vehicles don't either match or exceed. However, if you're like me and shelled out for the Dodo the moment it became available with no regrets, you'd probably also love the Tula

I quite liked it in the supply mission. Its pretty unique being both land+water landing aircraft and vtol.

I am going to get it but probably not until i unlock the trade price at the very least.

Yeah, I have the trade price unlocked which is why I'm thinking about it.

Yeah, I mean I have the Hydra = VTOL, Dodo = Amphibious + carries a fair amount of players, Rogue = Bombs and better guns

So yeah idk. I might just get it for its uniqueness...

Yes totally worth it.

In between being able to switch between VTOL and normal flight mode. It also has those thrusters available to make it take off much quicker.

Countermeasures and being able to drop bombs from it is also awesome.. Not to mention it can also land on water.

And the gun on the front takes down other planes and helicopters pretty damn fast.

I always pick it for escorting the Titan. Just keep the thing in VTOL mode during the whole escort because the Titan flies so damn slow.

The supply mission with it is pretty annoying, but the Tula itself is incredibly practical and good for most anything that doesn't involve air to air combat.

It really comes down to personal preference. Everyone says the havok is trash but I'm in love with it.. so it's up to you my brother

I don't think anything is worth it so far. I'm hoping future drip=feed vehicles will be better

I like mine. Makes picking up buddies/loot/cargo from sea easy. JATO's rockets are essential. She can hover and bomb.

Worthy plane? Yes

Worth the price tag? Nah, R* and Take Two are just taking the piss now.

Which cargo type was it? I want to try the Tula out at least once before I spend nearly $4 million on it.

I think it's random. I've only done the first two crate types (chemicals and narcotics?) and got various missions, including tula

Nah, skip it. Save for the Hunter. The Tula isn't solo friendly at all, and even with a co-pilot, it's not that good. Unless you find yourself constantly in need of water landings, that ability is just a gimmick, and certainly not worth 4 million to pay for.

Once you use up your 50 bombs, the Tula is totally ineffectual for combat. And then you're stuck with a slow, huge target.

I had a Tula in one of the supply missions , and suprisingly I liked it , it´s very accurate when you want to drop bombs ( because of it s ability to fly vertically ) , it s versatile and you´ll still be able to fly even with 2 blown up engines ( props )

but it´s insainly overpriced -imo-.... I d probably get it if it would be discounted ....

it'a good plane if was priced around 2 mill. but even with the discount price it's not worth it.

it's slow so no evading missles without flares (you need a co pilot for that).

sure it has a boost for takeoff and can be fun to use.

VTOL is a nice add on.

useless in a dogfight since the weapons other then the bombs are weak and any other weaponized aircraft will outrun it.

it's just a big plane with 2 special gimmicks. but like all gimmicks it makes the price way to high.

if you want a bomber get either the rogue or the starling.

if you want a water plane wait for the seabreeze.

if you want VTOL without being (rightfully) labled a griefer then sure get the tula instead of the hydra.

just wait for a discount in a event week.

Just wait for a discount... I do agree that the price is too much even with the current available discount.

But all the capabilities the Tula has, not a single regret buying it.

The only reason I can imagine anyone wanting the Tula is for it's water-landing and bombing capabilities. It can land anywhere and bomb anything with ease. I find bombing in planes really difficult but with the Tula's ability to hover, bombing is very easy. However, the bombing is only good against AI targets. Slowly hover above any player and you're gonna get shot down easily.

Overall, it's the swiss army knife of planes - It can do everything but it isn't the best at anything (other than bombing AI targets). And as swiss army knives go, the price increases with the number of tools and features it has. If that's what you want then sure, go ahead and get it. I think it's a really fun plane. I really want one but since I'm tight with cash, I'm gonna wait 'til it's on offer.

I'd advise finding someone who owns it and testing it out for yourself. No other way to see if you'll actually enjoy what it has to offer.

I personally love it. Haven't used it with a large group but I imagine it would come in handy for freeroam supply missions, contact missions and any other type of activity that requires transport.

It's more solo friendly than the Tula. Neither can use countermeasures solo, but the Hunter has great weapons a pilot can use even after running out of bombs.

Nah, forget the Hunter and get a Savage. Explosive rounds.

Got it already. I'll be using the Hunter in free roam on release though; speed, maneuvering, and bombs. Also I can swap bomb control to the co-pilot and give myself countermeasures, so even if I pick up any old random and they're awful at using the explosive cannon and bombs, I'll be able to rocket barrage with immunity to homing rockets.

Can someone confirm 3 things with the plane

1) Can the 3 passengers use drive by weapons and if so are they restricted to just using small arms like pistols or rpgs and throwables as well?

2) Will the turret operator fall out if the plane is flying upside down?

3) Is there a way to switch to the turret seat solo when in mid air with vtol enabled?
