Air Freight Missions Too Predictable & Passive Glitch/Flaw?

One of the things I don't like about this new DLC is the sheer predictability of when players are going to retrieve cargo and when they'll return back.

Last night, I was in a small lobby and watched a crew of three players working the new DLC missions.
They would all flock down to their hangar at the airport, go inside and turn into "house" icons.

After a while, they'd emerge as blips, and then become plane icons, taking off and flying off past the city to retrieve cargo.

Soon, I'd be notified, "SO & SO are moving air freight" or whatever it says.
Then, of course, the green "air freight" icons come blinking back toward their hangar.

So, in my efforts to be a total toolbag, but not without reason - I was very curious how far I could take this, I plotted and took my efforts into four different lobbies to see what would work. All players in all four lobbies behaved the same way.

1. First, I went Off Radar when they approached, but was unable to lock onto their planes, which is stupid.
2. Second, I laid out Proximity Mines to when they landed, they'd blow up. Well, the planes blew up, but they ported inside.
3. Third, I placed a Luxor and a Mallord in front of the hangar, covered in Stickies. It worked, but only for the first transport.
4. Lastly, using Free Aim with RPGs, I was able to take out the incoming planes and collect their cargo to take to my hangar.

However, something happened that I didn't expect.

 

In once instance, I killed a player returning his air freight, blowing him at the midpoint between the airport entrance and his hangar.

When he respawned, he didn't respawn outside the hangar AS I DID when I got killed... no, he respawned in the airport, right near the cargo he dropped when I blew him up.

What was suspicious, though, was that he respawned in Passive Mode, leaving me unable to shoot him.

Immediately, I saw him running toward the cargo he dropped, so I too, made a b-line straight for it.

He got there first, and while in Passive Mode, he collected the cargo and ran from that point, on foot, to the hangar where he successfully delivered the package.

I yelled at my television, "That it just complete BS!!! You can't have a guy in Passive collect packages! What's the point?"

So, I'm wondering what your perception of this whole dispatch & delivery system is with the SR DLC?

Have you seen this whole Passive collection done? Is it an oversight, glitch, flaw, or maybe just normal?


I had very high hopes for this DLC, but it seems stupid that we can't lock onto freight planes, you can't shoot Passive players yet they can still collect cargo, and just the whole "fetch mission" methodology seems really lame and outdated... I mean, I was doing fetch mission in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 back in 1981.

Your thoughts?

just adding that you can destroy someone's plane and if you're right behind them you take it and can run to your hanger immediately.

 

there's nothing they can do
