Mr_Human_Guy
Okay, so I've been replaying GTA 3 a lot lately and I remember a lot of broken controllers as a kid, like my dad one time rage quit so hard he broke it. I downloaded it on my tablet and I found it to be a breeze, of course the controls are ass but it's touch controls what can you expect. It's... An alright port. But I downloaded it on my pc too cause the trilogy was on sale for steam and after buggering about trying to get it run on my computer, I found out that it's just, way to easy, so I'm left here wondering, Was the games difficulty nerfed in later ports? Or was it always just this easy and I sucked at it. I heard the ps2 port is the hardest, I know it's stupid but damn it this has been bugging me my entire play through. stef_92
I've never played any GTA on a console so I can't say how is it on PS or XBOX. I've only played it on PC and my Android phone. It's easiest on PC but that's because it's much easier to control the player/vehicle with keyboard and mouse, I don't think that the handling or the animations were altered in any way. For mobile... i think that they probably changed things a little bit but I'm not 100% sure for GTA3. But for VC mobile I'm sure that they changed the handling of the vehicles and also made it more difficult to fall from a bike. Another change for VC is that the prices of the properties that you can buy are as twice as cheaper. However on mobile you have auto aim which makes things easier with shooting. Paisan™
on mobile you have auto aim which makes things easier with shooting. You also have auto aim on PS2, by holding R1. You can change the controls on PC to Classic, which is like the PS2 controls.
Nico
This leaves me with a question. Do the Leones have shotguns in the mobile version of the game? It seems like with every port they make the game more and more easy. In PC, most of the game wasn't really hard to me but the thing that made me suffer were the paramedic missions. Are those altered in mobile as well? Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?

It's all about technique if you ask me. As for the paramedics, the trick is to do them early in game before the gang members starting hating you. Sombra
I think most of the reason we remember games as hard stems from playing them on console as kids which seemed much harder with a controller; I remember Bomb Da Base giving me trouble as a kid on PS2 whereas now I find it easy on PC (same with the sniper mission in Vice City). I guess, I remember having to retry that mission like 5 times even on pc, but my previous play through I managed to clock in out in the fastest time I ever did it in. I've noticed some of the animations in Vice City Mobile were justified to be slightly slower such as Tommy jogging, opening and shutting car doors, maybe to give off better sense of weight, nothing too important but interesting. THIS!!!!!!I thought i was insane! I didn't know they changed the handling but i did notice cars would behave differently from what i remembered on PC back in the day, but why would they make the handling harder when the controls are ass anyways? Excalibur Voltaire
GTA III was pretty hard in original, because enemies in later mission are usually using a goddamn M-16 and AK-47, however in remastered, they are balanced, as enemies in later mission are finally using a Pistol, Micro-SMG, Shotgun, so the remastered version we're much easier than original And tbh, I only completed GTA III on remastered version, while I never completed GTA III on original version Mr_Human_Guy

The average kid takes twice more time to react than a drunk adult, this explains that. Mr_Human_Guy
j7n
The game gets significantly easier if I know, from having recently finished the game on another system, where the key locations are on the map and how the mission develops. Then I can plan my trajectory two or more steps ahead, moderate my speed, and feel confident. In a first playthrough I'd usually go straight at the checkpoint as fast as possible, and usually crash and become disoriented. The biggest difficulty for me in GTA III comes from not having the complete map and from the time limits. Shotguns and assault rifles are dangerous but can be countered if I know where the targets are and avoid them or shoot them with a sniper rifle. I don't have a console, but from what I've seen on let's play videos, the players have to get much too close to enemies without a mouse for aiming or sacrifice time to aim with a joy stick. stef_92
Another bonus in the mobile version is that you can look at the full map (something that people have always requested for modding on PC). This makes Paramedic missions much easier because you can pause the game, look a the patients on the map and plan your route. Sombra
i think the only mission that'd still give me trouble is Espresso 2 Go and even thats relatively easy now if you know the routes and use a car like the bp patriot
Jimmy
Mobile Controls are the worst for combat. Good thing that Android and iOS version support auto-aim. I wish it would have been the same for Sniper fires.
Super Grunt 281
Manual aim = god M16 The PC version is easier because of this when it's about gunfighting. but from what I've seen on let's play videos, the players have to get much too close to enemies without a mouse for aiming or sacrifice time to aim with a joy stick. I believe the AK-47 is the weapon with the highest lock-on range.
Evil empire
Like all the weapons the M16 lacks of precision but it comes about severing limbs it's by far the best choice.
