I've tried unplugging cables while in a public session, resetting the router, etc. Always kicks me to single player...

you'll always find a quiet and reasonably safe lobby if you look for one.

There's a couple of crews that set up and police safe lobbies. Can't remember what they're called though. Just google it.

I've been using those sites that measure your connection speed. When the session loads in I run a test and usually that makes me lag out leaving me alone. Sometimes I get kick into singleplayer but most of the times it works

I actually ran into one of these crews, by accident. Someone on my friends list is in it. I clicked on go to online, tossed me in a lobby with 28 other people from the same crew.

 

"PCEO" - Peaceful CEO is what it stands for. They help each other out and keep the lobby safe from trolls.
