Game crashing on startup?

I hit play on steam, the game starts to load, freezes on a black screen then crashes. It does this in both safe mode and normal. My PC is an MSI GS63VR with a GTX 1060, 6700HQ and 16GB of RAM.

Same problem, since the new smuggler update. I tried to install the update and after some minutes it gave an error. Now it crashes on a black screen right after launching the game.

 

So i think the downloaded update got corrupt during downloading it. I saw my disk is almost full, so it was probably that.

Then i deleted some sh*t on my PC to get some space for the update, tried verifying the game data, running as administrator, even manually removing the new updates in folder update/x64/dlcpacks/mpsmuggler and patchday16ng and mpairraces. Then downloading again.

But still it keeps crashing, even after removing and redownloading...

I found the solution i think. I saw suddenly my *GTA V folder*/update/update.rpf file was gone.

 

I removed 'GTA5.exe' and 'GTAVLauncher.exe' from my GTA V directory. Then launch it with 'PlayGTAV.exe'. This will download the needed files, and then it should say 'ready to play'. Et voila!

 

I hope this fixes it for you as well.

My game crashes when loading into story mode / online from the landing page, then proceeds to re-download Smuggler's Run.... My update.rpf file is still there, gonna verify game files once it's finished re-downloading the update for the millionth time... Any solutions to this problem?
