Bitch and Moan Thread - Smuggler's Run Edition

I'd put this just behind Gunrunning as my least favourite DLC. A couple of the aircraft are fun and I suppose I like the convenience of having digs at LSIA (Zancudo is a royal clusterf*ck)...but it's the same old predictable collect / sell tedium.

I also think Los Santos has become a part of the problem for me. 4 years of slogging around the same place has taken its toll and this once wondrous city now feels tired.

I just wonder how much more mileage R* can get out of recycling lacklustre game modes in an ageing environment?

If you like big open worlds to explore, I liked Tom Clancys the Division. (3rd person) Incredible rendition of New York that got lots of good reviews from people who lived there and if you want tension and excitement, try out its PVP Survival DLC. Its the first game that gave me the sensation of actual fear and tension

I also liked 7 days to Die which is an Adult Minecraft on crack. Huge map, tons of things to do. These are the two games I played when GTA 5 got soulless, boring and repetitive to me

Did I really just see a bad sports warning for shooting down two lime green Hydras?

Tell me it's not true, surely Rockstar aren't that stupid haha.

Bought a hangar and upgraded it. Played about 20 missions, to collect cargo and get the chance to try out the new aircrafts.

Went on and bought none of them. Checked new clothes, bought a couple of new outfits and then went offline. Huge disappointment overall.

This is not the quality i expect from R*. I wan't interesting new characters, more narrative and interesting cutscenes and missions. This DLC and most of the updates before Smugglers Run sadly have none of that.

Return to paid expansions please. I don't have a problem, to buy add ons for 20-40€, if i get quality work for it.

I tried a sell mission. I sold ONE single piece of art work.

I had 5 f*cking drop offs for one piece of artwork and nonstop cops shooting at my engines. I didn't even f*cking finish it.

Been on for 10 minutes to tryit all again

Utter garbage - yetagain I have witnessed dogfights between lime green and pink hydras and yet again witnessed someone trying to sell whilst I was in passivebeingcarpet bombed by about 6 planes/

This is the single most pathetic ill thought out garbage DLC I have EVER seen from C*

Back to Tom Clancy's Division. I mean it this time, I am done with this game.

Me to, I did the painstaking wrk of three guys, going back and forth. They wanted me to maneuver my one man copter into a tiny space for the fifth sixth time. My blades nipped a light pole and it was all over. I think I got maybe 5k for all that work

You guys were not kidding about the spawn killing AI...These things NEVER die...I was curious on how many will stop spawning and I killed at least 10+ helicopters expecting them to stop. I love how they spawn directly next to you no matter how far you go. This sh*t seems broken and rushed..

The new emotes on The Division are hilarious. The graphics are so good that it makes GTA 5 emotes look ancient and lame. They also have something new called Global events and the servers are working well for Survival DLC. It took me less than 30 seconds in prime hours to get into PVP lobby . I understand that the Division is very popular amongst GTA players cause it has 3rd person open world. Its my favorite game of all time. I play GTA half asleep, whereas the Division on early DZ , todays Legendary mode or Survival, I feel actual tension, adrenaline and my heart is pounding for real. Its a good game.

Yep I had that one. Barely made it back to my Hangar, when I did I crashed in to the pole out front, didn't die, jumped out and in my haste to run to the yellow circle with 30 seconds left I ran in to the propeller and killed myself. Luckily I respawned close enough to grab the crate and deliver it with about 1 second remaining.

10 individual or 10 pairs?

Was collecting 3 crates with my crew last night over at the power plant, 2 insane NPC buzzards spawning in, being taken out (special carbine ftw, since they dodge homing rockets much better now) and 2 more spawning near instantly. We must have taken down 15 to 20 pairs of buzzards while the last guy was climbing to the top to get the crate and then a further 2 or 3 pairs while we were attempting to get away.

Same deal on the one where you take down the air cargo, killed the three planes, crates fell to the ground (on a hill), couldn't pick them up without getting blasted by two buzzards. Even though I caught mine mid air and was firing homing rocket after homing rocket at the buzzards from my Molotok the other two couldn't get the package and get away... in the end I ditched them and delivered the package I had, they gave up.

Luckily, for both of those, none of the other players in the session were too much of a threat. All night I think we only had a couple of people purposely come to us to attack and the only other attacks come when we were in the city taking out jammers etc. Against hostile players and trolls, a lone wolf or even a small crew probably doesn't stand a chance.

I just wish there was more gameplay added instead of just the same old fetch missions even if they're with a slight twist.

Some special aircraft missions would have been nice as well as VIP Work for specific ones. I'm just left with nothing to do in this update besides stealing missions and 80% of them are boring as hell.

At least with I/E and Gunrunning we had different avenues of playing with our new toys, with Smugglers Run they completely cut that out. Now it's just hey here's some new aircraft go and steal cargo with it. Boom. Done.

I wanted this update to be so much more. It definitely had the potential with all the new aircraft at our disposal and the smuggling theme surrounding the update.

It's one of the easiest missions! Focus on knife flights around buildings and don't touch the bridges, that's risky. But anyway, you need to be proficient at flying, true.

My girl is from NY, and she was summarily impressed with the Division's version of New York. She was extremely impressed by the inclusion of the bikes that you could rent IRL to get around the city. I enjoy that game despite the fact that it wasn't exactly a great game. An infected New York sounds like a great getaway from the perpetual hellhole that Los Santos has become...

The game has evolved over time and is still worth getting if on sale. The only DLC I would trust now is the Survival DLC. Its Underground DLC was made for 1.3 content and 1.4 damaged its group / team match up servers so I haven't played Underground DLC in months.

Last Stand DLC only favors players that perfected PVP. I'm a PVE player. Doing Incursions on Heroic mode is brutal. Hardest video game I ever played. Missions in Legendary mode is crazy. This is a game known to keep 4 players up to two hours in sheer adrenaline. I even heard of one team taking 3.5 hours to do a mission. That's how much content this game has evolved into.

Survival DLC is my favorite. Its unique. Matter of fact this whole game is unique. Its an experiment in perpetual beta it seems cause theres no other game like it and the patience does pay off. If Division 2 ever came out, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Be patient as you work thru the intro. This is an older game and I'm not sure how the servers are matching up for its hard mode and normal mode. Some do it as a solo. Post intro is still busy and lots of players in the terminal after you finish the storylines. I'm on console and get into a lobby or match within a minute with the DLCs . The intro should take you only 3 days. Youll see a lot of players in the train terminal after you finish.

On the storyline missions , I only did it on hard content which was so difficult it took some teams over 2 hours each mission to complete. The normal mission storyline is kinda easy. The difficult content comes later. Youll also get the DZ (Dark Zone ) end game which has this real sensation of fear and tension cause its a dark forboding PVP hunt which has won praise for its sound effects.

Most new planes suck big fat dick during the source missions The "handling" is f*cking horrible to the level that it is unplayable. f*ck, the whole DLC is made in mind that it should be unplayable and impossible. My guess is R* is trying to kill Online so they can finally work on GTA 6 and transfer the current fanbase to RDR 2 Online.

Also Hunter is f*cking slow and so is the piece of sh*t that is called Skylift. Buzzard will run circles around Hunter for days no matter how "cool" it is.

Yep the enemy spends $51 million in just buzzards to protect $30,000 in crates. That's R* logic for ya.

Who the f*ck is running these operations, Zap Brannigan?

Whoever made that Titan Escort idea for a resupply mission should be instantly fired.

All they had to do make it much more fun is a few changes to the mission:

-Titan flies at least 3X faster than it does now.
-Enemy prop planes show up to attack using guns only.
-Only 5 waves of hostiles show up. If all 5 waves are destroyed before the Titan makes it to the drop zone, it'll immediately drop your cargo to help reward you for your combat effort.

There, that's it. It's extremely boring and tedious with the way the mission works now.

I hate citibikes. Take up parking and leads to grown people flying down crowded sidewalks on bikes.

They did get a lot of good details down for the city. However it didn't depict how badly gouged the real estate market is there. The apartments were way too big for a city where people with real jobs pay $2000 for a bed in a dorm and there were way too many alleyways and floor lvl parking lots. I did like how the villains weren't Russians or Islamic terrorists but fellow NYers pushed over the edge, like the sadistically fanatical sanitation department guys.

I tried it on the free steam weekend last winter, and found it compelling enough to buy. It becomes a lootgrinder after you finish the missions but there's enough content to keep you occupied for a while. I recommend it.

OK I may have missed it, BUT....I didn't see a b&m about the crates in smugglers run turning peoples offices into junkyards.

So if anyone knows for sure, could you PLEASE let me know, i"'be been trying to get an answer since yesterday evening.

Do these crates result in your office being made messy, like then original CEO crate running does?

Or take a jet and fly upside down close to the ground like in the freeroam event. Enough time to get your stuff then and come back to the hangar. :)

They could have laid a golden egg, which would've breathed new life in to this franchise but they instead laid a rotten egg and hastened it's demise. It's not too late for them to do a very small update fixing most of the problems but they won't do that. They're like Trump, never admit fault. I'll be occasionally doing missions and fooling around w my cars. In fact, my top end cars are the only reason I still play the game.

Dropping bombs kinda suck.

I spent probably 2 hours last night just spamming with bombs trying to learn how to use them. And I got 0 kills...

Getting bad sport points for blowing up aerocraft is quite ridiculous. My friends and I were having a laugh about it at first, but it could easily evolve into an issue. I received the notification at least eight or so different times when I were just testing out (and sometimes crashing) the new aerocraft. Also, if you kick someone out of your PV aerocraft when they are in the air, they also get bad sport points for destroying the vehicle when it hits the ground.

Bad sport is a hypocritical failure, especially now that the game very clearly promotes and encourages hostility between players within public lobbies.
