I just did a mission where I had to shotdown about 10 fighter jets and 3 cargoplanes, only to gain one crate worth 10.000 GTA$, wtf...

Whoah! Which aircraft did you use? Or did the mission provide one?

Selling 14 crates got me an my friend two vehicles. I'm guessing that 9 is the magic number again for one vehicle like with special crates.

I had that mission too.

I used the V-65 provided. Good handling, good rate of fire on the heat-seekers, but no explosive ammo for the cannon.

So, quick maths for solo players:

A large wharehouse gives 1.6 mills of profit after 6 hours of 3-crates missions.

A full hangar gives 500k profit for 50 crate runs.

So, to reach the same level of profit, it takes 3 full hangars sales.

If you then consider having 2 hours to fill the hangar, to keep with the pace of the CEO crates (500k x3 = roughly 1.6m , 6 hours of work)

2 hours, 50 crates to do.

= 1 hour, 25 crates to do.

2 minutes cooldown between each pick up.

60 - 25 x 2 = 10 minutes of gameplay to get those 25 crates

That means that if you are solo, you must pick up one crate in 24 seconds or less to be as profitable as the CEO crates.

The game provided me with a molotok, which I used to destroy 3 cargo planes and 4 jets escorting them (I think they where 4). Then the cargo fell on the sea, so I had to call a buzzard to retrieve it, and when I was returning to fort zancudo was chased by three waves of two fighter jets each. Since the AI isn't very good, was able to destroy all 6 fighters with the buzzard lol.

So it seems like this is all about playing in groups for maximum profit (for the president/ceo of course).... No price for cargo and you can I assume get up to 8 in one run with a full MC?

So, us lone wolf(ers) have pretty much nothing to gain from the smuggling business? Yay.

I prefer rockstar giving a crappy payout for solo rather than making it unplayable by some limitations like "you need to be 2 to start a sale"

Hmm it seems that every product is catogorized 50 crates is the limit for each product.

If you want a full sell.. steal 50 products of the same category.. pffff

Can your hanger be robbed like the crate warehouse or is it safe like cars?

When selling do you ever get more than one vehicle?

Yes, I believe it follows the same pattern as the others where it's based on percentage of max storage.

Might wanna check your arithmetic, because last time I checked, a large warehouse of 111 crates sells for $2,220,000... Not 1.6mil.

The point is still correct, just a minor correction.

Non Funkable Token

^1,6 is the maximum profit, taking account of the crate costs.

Has anyone yet worked out if this is a profitable business?

Or is IE still king?

I thought Coke was still king??

My first sale was 8 crates and I had to use three of those small choppers made by nagasaki. Two drops with each chopper and you have to fly them in pretty tight spaces when you make the drop.

Being careful not to crash I still had over four minutes left after the last drop.

edit: Yeah f*ck this. Tried selling 8 crates and had to use some really slow plane. I'm talking slower than cuban slow and 4 star wanted level from the start.

Managed to do 3/5 drops when the plane broke. You need someone in the machine gun with that thing to shoot the police choppers down.

8 crate sale has 3 vehicles? Sale value is a flat 10k per crate?

Nah.

I think I'll just hammer out the steal missions for discounts and forget about it.

I can't see R* ever giving us a solo money maker superior to I/E.

With that pitiful earning potential it's almost as if R* wanted to give us something like 50m+ of vehicles to buy and then make us play one of the worst ways to make money to obtain discounts.

Yeah, just like GR. It's almost like they expect you to play with others in this multiplayer game.

I'm kidding, I like my lone wolfing too and I/E is still my main source of income because I love stealing cars in a game named after the felony.

I just hope the steal missions are fun enough to unlock the discount prices. I'm just bummed they dripfed the Hunter. And the Rapid GT.

Pretty much. I've bought the FZ hanger and workshop to mod planes, mainly for the access to FZ, the ability to mod planes and source missions for cheaper prices. Other than that, I'm sticking to my original method of making money.

OK, since this is basically crates...does doing this fill your office with assorted crap??

I like my old spice warm, lombank office a lot, likely the closest I will ever get in this game to a beach front apartment. I do NOT want it messed up

Is 'research' a thing with this?

Perez showed why I picked that figure, it's because of the cost of the crates ;)

Anyway, if you are solo you are not doing it for profit.

So no point in buying one that has a great location for missions (Zancudo is so central)

So the east of LSIA is perfect:

Great access to runway

Cheap

Looks big and legit (lol)

Embarrassingly bad payoff.

But then again, with so many games coming out soon, F1 already out, Destiny out next week & then GTS, Project cars 2, shadow of war, dragons dogma remaster all coming out in October... honestly who caresabout using this update to grind money.

I will just sell the sh*t tonne of glitched cars I had waiting, but up the stuff I wanna buy, and keep allowing the gunrunning and MC businesses to stack up along with race earnings and stuff.

I just wanna get in the new helis and dominate wannabe ass pilots in fm.

When stocking on the same stuff you get bonuses for selling price adding to ther10k per crate, 5 percent of total crates value added after 5 crates in storage, 10 percent after 10 crates, I didn't get to more so I'm not sure it goes up to 50 percent with a full set of 50 crates of a particular product. It would be cool if a bigger crate count for one product gave better percentage. I sold the 10 crates in a one vehicle sale. Acquireing cargo missions are fun in the given vehicles as you can test them in action, however nothing beats a buzzard for solo work, I've had numerous situations where I'd simply call for it to not get frustrated at stuff - the only exception - dogfighting lazers with the nokia/nikon (every big boy knows it's the rustler dammit!) - cool mission and cool plane to fly, but with all others where you can choose your craft over the one provided buzzard is the best(hunter's rocket barrage has its perks and there is one mission where you airdrop from a cargobob over fort zancudo so no choice of aircraft there). A nice update although it's basically crates 2.0, with much worse payouts per game hours, and the only thing keeping the grind is the price unlocks for some of the aircraft

Also - havok - imho not worth it, it's not much more agile than the buzzard and drastically underpowered with the slow fireing .50 cal, even if it may be a teeny weeny bit more agile (which for me it isn't) it does not give much, buzzard is still the quickest and most deadly heli in this game
