Killing paused players

Question: aside from the escalating chances of bad sport how much does it take for someone to be bad sported for killing a player in the pause menu?

 

Context; in the past week ive taken a new stance to greifers. Whenever I was trying to mind my own in a public lobby and someone decides to greif me for whatever reason floated their boat, I would just pause and let them and after 2 or 3 times they would leave the lobby. Is this ultimately sending them to BS lobby or are they just going after prey that will entertain them?

 

Edit: feel the need to state this. For about 5 years now I've very rarely played anything PvP because I'd rather avoid the literal migraine that it induces. Each time I was minding my own business and for some reason a player would target me, no ongoing mission/sale just got the short straw in the greifers lobby roulette. After my attempts to ignore were futile and it became clear cut griefing I was attempting to report them and they'd continue to kill me as I attempted and kept reattempting to report for greifing until they left the lobby for either boredom or other reasons.

You don't get bad sport for killing players, neither when they are in a pause menu as far as I know.

You get bad sport for quitting missions before they are done or destroying personal vehicles too often.

Just counts as a normal kill. And killing players doesn't contribute towards bad sport.

Pausing doesn't cause Bad Sport to whoever deciding to kill you.

 

If you're really concerned with getting killed, Passive mode exists for a reason.

Not that I'm aware of. Bad sport has never been linked to killing players at all, so I don't see why it would make any difference if that player were paused. In fact, if it did cause bad sport then I'm very sure we'd know about it by now, due to the number of players goading other players into killing them and then going into the start menu. It would have become a known griefing tactic.

Well that can be countered by not adding bad sports points should you kill a player who just hit the pause button. Have it only give bad sports points when the player you killed had been paused for at least 30 seconds. That way you cannot just hit the pause button to give someone bad sport points because you were not in Pause long enough for that to take effect.

Bad sport or not it's a good way of dealing with griefers. Just let them kill you, until they leave.

I don't think we need to discuss ways around a trolling technique that doesn't exist, regardless of the fact that I'm sure they would never implement anything like you suggest (or would be capable of doing so without braking other things in the process).

I once killed a player 60+ times because he was idle. In the end he had moved (respawned) pretty much from one side of the city to the other. I did it for a shotgun tint.

This thread is nonsense based on a myth.You do not get any bad sport for killing a player unless there is a PV tht u blow up.That is the only way to get BS,also hell yes you kill paused player,say some jack off kills you.Then you respawn an see him trying to leave the session like a lil bitch.Recycle that f*cker

When Passive Mode worked in a different way, it was very easy to kill someone who is Passive. As such, it gave you bad sport points.

It's a multiplayer game. There is no pause. Get inside your apartment or go passive if you need to do something. Stop reporting people for no reason. R* gives bad sport points for fraudulent reports.
