Torque/Horsepower, Acceleration, and Nitrous

Greetings!

I'm going to cut straight to the chase. Like many of you I bought GTA for one big reason. The cars. Specifically, cars in online.

A couple of my friends and I like to drag race our cars pretty often, especially nowadays when we're both stacked and buying cars like crazy. A couple days ago I purchased and fully upgraded a Nightshade, which is about as close to a drag racing muscle car straight out of fast and furious as you can get. It sounds like a beast, it looks like a beast, and it drives like a..... well let's just say it's actual performance is pretty pathetic.

What bothers me isn't the performance as much as the fact that by looks, sounds, and stats, the car should be a LOT faster on the acceleration. The top speed is only about 110 mph, and that's perfectly fine. But I've maxed out the acceleration stats on an *American Muscle Car* and for the first 1.5-2 seconds of slamming down the W key, nothing happens except for a bunch of screeching and tire spinning. Once the car finally does get moving, it moves forward at a snails pace, taking nearly the entire length of the airport to reach it's top speed.

It's clear that a car like this has ridiculous amounts of horsepower and torque, but none of that actually comes into play. I mean for pete's sake, the car has a drag bar out the back, and it does nothing but look stupid on the back of the car. When I slam on the gas in my fully upgraded Nightshade, what should happen is something a little like

. Not the tire spinning zero traction BS.

Now, something that applies to a lot more cars. Nitrous Oxide. The Nightshade, the Elegy Retro, and several other cars all have half to what looks like 1 gallon tanks of Nitrous, which is absolutely useless. This isn't a huge issue, but I can't be the only one who would love to drain some Nos in a drag race. It would make unofficial races much more dynamic and fun. They gave us Nitrous systems, so why can't we use it?

I'm considering sending an email to rockstar directly asking them about all this but I wanted some community feedback first. Let me know what you guys think, I think these technical additions will make racing and cars in general much more enjoyable.

All vehicles in-game are too slow in general. I mean not being able to exceed 120mph in most land vehicles is just undoubtably sad.

Especially when you're in a 2 million dollar supercar

I support adding NOS for sure, especially if it has that juicy turbo-start effect. :inlove::^:

I see no button on consoles that could utilize this feature. Hell, they pretty much screwed up the hydraulics by replacing the duck button.

we could use R3/horn button for nos, thats how we used it in the old days where you could add nos using the save editor program.

The circle button would probably be best as it does absolutely nothing in a vehicle.

Nos? Then your Nightshade (and my SV custom) would spin out even longer before they caught traction and took off at a snails pace.

If they could work it like in Midnight Club I'd be all for it.

I'm sorry bud but this doesn't need it's own thread. Go ahead and post it in one of these two wishlist topics-

General Gamplay Wishlist

Vehicle Wishlist

Welcome to the forums. Btw, nitrous, wheelies, the Nightshade's performance, all those topics have been talked to death over the years. I'd say you are good to send an email.
