GTAO: Worst gaming community ever?

I still don't know WTF your definition is exactly of a gamer with "credibility and pedigree" is, but I get the impression that you aren't going to meet many that fit that high of a standard in any community.

A gamer with credibility and pedigree is one that can get to the end of Ghosts and Goblins without getting hit once, and can also understand that interface mini-game in Paradroid.

the problem isn't the GTAO community.

 

It's the PC community.

 

I have this debate often with PC guys and of course they vehemently deny it... but PC is the worst platform to play on.

 

So, do you play on PC yourself? Do you have experience of playing GTA:O on PC?

 

I'd still rather have them than the PC player base, because the majority that I ever came across over the years were modders, or just straight up elitist attitude scrubs that weren't actually very good but kept up the whole "console peasant" thing.

As for gaming communities specifically, I'd still say CoD is worse. Because the CoD player base largely represents fake gamers, players that will only stick to one type of game

Clearly If I'm slagging off the PC community, as I stated in my initial post, I've played on PC for years before I'd had enough, why the f*ck would someone slag off a community they have never been part of?

 

And you know what I mean by fake gamers... essentially those guys who will only stay in that one genre, or often times that one franchise but will slag off every other game. Maybe fake gamer wasn't the right term to use, but don't try to twist my words and make it into something it isn't, the points still stand.

 

And I'm pretty sure I even mentioned in my original post that there'd be negative comments from PC gamers and they'll defend it vehemently, no matter what... Like it actually matters or something.

All i run into are players who remain silent and do not use their microphone in Freemode. Either that, or they use some third-party app to communicate such as Discord or TS. Which is fine. But you've kind of severed your connection to the rest of the players, haven't you?

I dont think so, some of you may remember back when arcades were a thing. No online anonymity, person standing right next to you talking trash about your mom while in-game you're trapped in the lower corner getting sweep kicked. Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition actully turned into real life street fights

You go on and try to be nice guy in the game all the time, you will go insane after so many people screwing you over, eventually you will have to vent your anger in someone.

 

And there are SO MANY ways you can do that to others in this game...

 

Hell, the game itself wants you to go out of your way to destroy cargos, products, guns, steal cars and stop people making money by doing a VIP/CEO/MC work.

 

The only reason why there still is Bad Sports point, insurance charges and mental state is because those features came from a time the devs weren't pushing PvP in the face of all players in free roam, back when the player base wasn't as brain dead as it is nowadays and R* wanted to see players playing together in cooperation.

 

So sorry, but this isn't a "crock of bullsh*t", that's is how the game is now.

The GTAO community is pretty awful in comparison to other multiplayer communities, though certainly not the worst. As for the people getting offended at this notion, that doesn't automatically mean everyone in the community is awful. You can't deny however that the game attracts a lot of obnoxious personalities and small children.

 

Now would probably be a good time to mention that party chat killed the sociability of a lot of online games. Lobbies are almost eerily silent, save for the occasional squeaker or guy playing music through his headset.

I don't know about worst but its really bad imo...

not until I joined did I learn...it seemed so cool from the outside in....but its full of entitled clowns who can't take the stick out their ass an enjoy a video game...everything is me me me, I want, I want, I want....

 

The way in which people talk is very selfish and with a lack of common sense...people seem to think whining on here will magically change the game into something that suits only them...forgetting that MILLIONS play daily

 

we are all different, have different likes and wants, we will NEVER ALL BE COMPLETELY pleased...but that is not what video games are designed to do

 

No1 here own GTA or R* it is their game and they can change it up as much as they like, they can make GTA 6 only racing if they want...its their product!

 

people refer to R* as if they are one person....forgetting they employ 1000s of designers, writers, researchers, consultants etc....common sense seems to be vacant by most in this community..

 

You also get called names or a "FANBOY" for actually liking and enjoying the game...like what kind of foolishness is that? I will never understand...maybe cos I have a life outside games...the more I come here the more biter I become towards the community

I think it might be the dumbest I've experienced, thinking about it. We all know what it's like to have to "play" alongside random people, so there's that.

 

Also, on the rare occasions I haven't set others to mute in game, I don't think there's a single person who has ever pronounced my name correctly. I'm surprised as these are usually people from the US. Coleco is (well, was) a US company. I guess people must just be confused because I don't have "iTz", "xXx", some reference to my superior sniping ability, memes, ISIS, or how much I love dank kush in my gamertag.

 

And of course, there's the heaps of written detritus around here too

Yeah it is pretty awful, may not be the worst but its up there.But yeah more than likely it's the casuals who jumped in on the GTA craze rather than long time fans who behave the worst.

I don't use a mic or headset, and only rarely reply to the inevitable abuse I get sent across XBOX LIVE Messaging. I suggested to one angry kid recently that he calm down and perhaps get his mum to give him a hug. It was me who got hit with the XBOX LIVE messager ban stick for a week for that lol

 

I'm used to that nonsense though, people don't like having their sensitivities tickled.
