chronic lumbago
http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1424038 Target made a page for this game and I doubt they just pulled it out of their asses. Sorry, there's zero info yet but for now we can speculate what this is all about. I'd much rather see TESVI but if it's a brandnew open world RPG, I'd be happy to see it. Thanks bethesda, now you force me to watch a whole series.
Creed Bratton
If it's true then f*ck TES. I want to see the Wall and go beyond it to kill White Walkers. I want to travel to King's Landing and Winterfell. I want it all damn it. Target13
Typhus
I'd honestly rather they tried to make TES feel as majestic as Game of Thrones rather than wasting time on a shoddy tie-in. The overused voice actors, the Fallout reskins, the constant hoisting of a "chosen one" narrative on every game. For such a great series, it has an awful lot of issues. Imagine something looking as good as Game of Thrones but using far more high fantasy elements (Argonians, Dark Elves and so on.) Of course, they won't listen. When we eventually get a new Elder Scrolls, it will probably look like a retextured mod for Fallout 4. Mister Pink
There's nothing on the other end of that link. I did make a topic about Bethesda working on a big RPG that isn't Fallout or TES recently and it could very well be this. For one, I would be kind of happy to see this. I'm currently watching Game of Thrones and of course I love Bethesda's RPG's. Conversely, I also kind agree with Typhus. Would be nice if they just made TES an entertainment piece of it's own. Something brilliant. Something that GoT fans would love but is original in their own world and lore. Bethesda might spread themselves thin trying to do a new TES and a GoT, while trying to keep the both fresh and unique. However, if a game is going to be based on a book or probably on the TV series, based on the book or both, I'm glad it's Bethesda. At least that gives us hope of it being worth our money. Most of these IP's that come to video games is usually a cash-cow with little budget and they go to indie-devs (no disrespect to indie-devs) where the potential of what could have been never feels reachead. We know Bethesda would at least build a big game. Typhus 1 MOVING LIKE BERNIE
chronic lumbago
You sure? Link still works for me. I'm on mobile though. My link leads to a Neogaf post and there's a link posted to Target. The page they created is almost empty and only the title of the game is there. Saw a reddit discussion about it too. https://www.target.com/c/game-of-thrones/bethesda/-/N-559pjZ55t8g While Bethy could probably reach a wider audience, I'm not sure if they're up for the task to make a good storyline for this game. I haven't watched a single episode of GoT and was thinking about watching it before (if this game is confirmed, I probably will) but from what I gathered, GoT has a lot of fans. If Bethesda does another half assed/just ok story, I bet most fans will be disappointed. Ever since I played Telltale's GoT I wanted to watch the series but didn't end up watching it yet. Mister Pink
My bad, works now. I tried it twice and it just brought me to NeoGAF with "No thread specified error." Yeah would be interesting to see how they handle the story. I haven't read the books and I'm not a hardcore fan of the series. A lot of the hype around from people around me is really off putting. Doesn't help being immersed in the show when you see the actors doing interviews everywhere or being in funny, silly YouTube videos. That's why I much prefer watching shows after the hype. Going off track there.. for the story it actually works in Bethesda's favour. It's quite layered with lots of stories and sub plots happening at once. So I can see how this can't be translated in to separate quest-lines in a game and how you could possibly work for multiple families and will probably have to eventually be loyal to one cause. I think the source material could be great for Bethesda. Maybe having all the source material pre-existing will help Bethesda be able to focus resources on making the gameplay great. Afterwall, it's not like they'll be building a new world from scratch. Bit like CDPR and The Witcher and Cyberpunk. chronic lumbago
By the way, it's not the first time Target leaked a game, they leaked some info on AC Origins before. http://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-origins-info-confirmed-by-leaked-target-preorder-card/ Then again, we already knew Origins would happen and Bethy's GoT is a brand new, never heard before IP. Could be just some random typo, maybe someone wrote Bethesda instead of Telltale? Only time will tell. But yes, it could be pretty damn interesting. I know that GoT has all those houses and kingdoms and I loved the complexity and different perspectives of Telltale's GoT. Bethesda just might be able to pull it off. If Obsidian joined the party then it would be a match made in heaven. Edited August 27, 2017 by fashion
Creed Bratton
I don't think Bethesda will pull off a compelling narrative, but they can pull off an interesting game nonetheless. I only have faith in Obsidian and CDPR to pull of both. In fact, I'd rather have CDPR make a GoT game if I could choose. But as long as we get an open-world GoT game, I'm a happy camper and I won't complain much.
chronic lumbago
It was a fake. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2017/08/28/that-target-listing-for-a-bethesda-game-of-thrones-game-was-a-hoax/#d8dedfc2438b Sorry. Maybe it's better that way and they can make TES6 already. Mister Pink
luisniko
Just like T2 and Rockstar with GTA Online, Bethesda is having fun rolling money from Elder Scrolls Online.
