Can't sell cars over 50k now....

Dupe means Duplicate, usually a car glitched over and over again so it can be sold multiple times (I BELIEVE that most dupes have varying license plates which helps them "dupe" or, at least, avoid some sort of detection). Not a glitch God so don't quote me on that.

I remember R* messed up when the DoD came out. You could get them for free from the manufacturer website then sell them at any mod shop.

They patched it a couple days later but I made some sweet bank off that exploit.

I wouldn't put much faith in that literal message. I can't sell my 100%-legitimate 2013 Entity and I have a similar message, yet I sell non-dupe Sandkings every day and it had no problems buying two of my Supers from me last week (over $3M worth)

 

The DoD had a troubled selling history. When it first came out it was Free, yet you could sell it with no cooldown timer, for $12,000. Then Rockstar caught their mistake and made it so you could only sell it for the value of any upgrades. Maybe they found another flaw and put that car on the unsellable list and used "message #351.1" as an excuse.

 

Try selling any other >$50,000 car and see if you get the same message. Do you own more than one Duke o' Death? Do they have the same license plate?

A follow up question I'd like to ask is whether you've duped any other vehicles at all recently (as in last few months). Can you still apply custom plates to this vehicle, or any vehicle at all? Do you know if you have a vehicle daily sell limit? Have you experience

 

I'm not trying to be judgmental here, just trying to problem solve using what I know about duping and R*'s anti dupe stuff to see if this is related to that, a DoD exclusive bug, or just another random f**kup by the game's servers.

Sounds about right to me.

 

R* currently has several anti-dupe measures in place, two of the biggest one I know of being:

 

• Detecting a vehicle with the same plate as another vehicle, when the plate is not a custom plate that currently shows up in your iFruit app and can be applied at LSC. You can sell one of these vehicles, but it flags your account and instantly gives you a 9-month sentence of being able to sell only one vehicle every 30 hours real time. A legitimate player can trigger this if they sell a vehicle with a custom plate they deleted from iFruit, or have unlinked their social club account and try to sell a custom plated vehicle.
• Various "exploit levels"that limit how many cars you can sell per 30 hour period, as well as how often you can sell cars during that time frame. Selling too many total personal vehicles iper 30 hrs or selling too quickly causes your level to rise each time it happens, and prematurely triggers a daily sell limit. A legitimate player can thus this while simply clearing garage space by selling cars back to back (se7ensins quotes 1 car/ 30 minutes when I checked)..

 

Moral of the story: the amount of stuff in place to control dupes is pretty insane, and it's totally possible to accidentally trigger some of it while playing legitimately. Wouldn't surprise me if the error the OP describes is a messed up side product of all this messy bullcrap R* have coded in.

I find it hard to believe that all the people complaining are totally innocent. Rockstar are probably going to make the odd mistake but anyone who has had money wiped and are being prevented from selling high value cars have most likely been a bit naughty.

I have money whiped after a cheater rained alien eggs on me and had exact 10k modded money. Next day when the money sweeps began, they removed

all the money I earned with CMM, heists, stunt races and bunker sales.

And I can sell cars with values above 50k. Why? Because I don't have any dupe and I can't be arsed to let my account to be flagged and get the 9 months sentence.

But we all know for sure DoD is one of the bugged cars R* had have it the past 4 years?

 

So, either OP is not really honest because you cannot sell cars obtained from exploits. My friend got the DoD from a cheater that spawned the DoD for him

and he can't sell it. While I was patience enough to wait for the official DoD and I can sell it.

Or, R* messed up with the DoD's code.

That error only occurs on PC and is related to your car being a dupe or obtained by mods. For sure you can sell any of your other legitimate cars.

 

Not sure but if you got it for free and then unlinked your social club account it might happen too?

Even if you sell legit personal cars, let's say more than 6-8 in a 31 hour window of time, you'll get flagged as an exploiter. There's an excellent guide of the limits and tiers of punishment over at the other site.

I had the very same issue. I've tried to get a rare vehicle with missing parts by purchasing and terminating a game before a transaction completed. As a result, I didn't get the rare variant, but I couldn't sell the car as well. Same message:

 

 

 

R* reply:

In regard of the issue you are facing we would like to assist you. When you are attempting to sell a vehicle, the vehicle must have a total value of less than GTA$50,000. If the vehicle's value is above that amount then the vehicle will be unable to be sold.

You cannot sell vehicles that are obtained from Warstock Cache and Carry which require Pegasus for delivery, nor can you sell vehicles obtained through glitches or exploits.

 

 

So, basically, the system thinks that you have cheated and this vehicle is glitched / duped.

 

If you can't sell any other PV vehicle, then you are under surveillance indeed.

yes that's correct you should still be able to sell bought cars and on the duped their are 2 kinds of dupe's;

 

1: it's a duplicate stand alone usually= "can't sell vehicles over $50k"

 

2: a copy over car dupe, a replacement of another car like an elegy or a rusty rebel (this will sell like a bought car)
