RM-10 Bombushka Appreciation Thread

Recommended Posts

If I have 46 mil and have the discounted price, should I go for it? I also want the Hunter and maybe Nokota but their toward the end of the trade price list so might get the Bombushka specially since I was waiting for a looooooonnng time. Opinions?

I would say spend that money as fast as you can. I also had like 45~50mills on my account (all legit money) and R* removed it all with no explanation...

The name literally translates as "Granny Bomb". Very Russian aircraft.

I don't know who told you that, but this translation is incorrect.

It may sound similar, but it has nothing to do with "Babushka" (Granny).

Bombushka = Bomb + Ushka. *ushka is diminutive suffix. It can be used as a size reference AND as a sign of affection (depending on the context).

Another example (except overused babushka): Izba (a hut) -> Izbushka

Knowing that, it can be translated from russian as "Cute Little Bomb" but can be interpreted as "Cute Little Bomber".

Other interpretations:

My Little Bomb/Bomber

My Dear Bomb/Bomber

My Sweet Bomb/Bomber

Cute Bomb/Bomber

I am also siting on 45 mills.

Even if 4.5 millions is a lot for another dust collector, it's a game about spending money earned in criminal activities.

It's GTA, not "Save my earnings Simulator".

So I'm loading online right now.

And I'll buy it immediately.

Yeah if you've got all three guns manned and the pilot has at least a few brain cells, the only real concern should be people with Sniper Rifles, or other aircraft flown by Off The Radar players. People on the ground won't be able to lock-onto you with their Homing Launcher if you're flying around at 1000 - 1500ft, but you'll still be able to hit them with the cannons.

The maximum engine upgrade only increases the top speed by about 5-10mph, so if you're really strapped for cash, you can do fine without that.

It would be then pronounced Bombochka, if we would talk about a "cute little bomb"

Babushka is one of those words some Westerners would find familiar, so i guess Rockstar mixed up the words Bomb and Babushka, implying that this is one of a aged lady (many refer to their favourite machines as "her") that carries bombs, but as you said, it is a implication, that is, IMHO, bound to association.

I admit though i overdid it by saying "literally translates", which is indeed not - but i lacked a correct translation, as it seemed to be a portmanteu.

Even solo I'm really enjoying this plane. Yeah it's slow but I like to think it's graceful.

Matte black, otr, night time solo bombing raids on the city are great fun so far. Emptying out the 50 bombs and making it back to Zancudo in one piece is quite satisfying.

Here is my honest opinion on it.

  • It looks great
  • The turrets are powerful
  • It's big so it enhances your E-penis
  • It's insultingly slow
  • It's is insultingly expensive for the practicallity
  • It handles like poorly
  • It's a flying target
  • Stupidly easy to destroy
  • It needs a full crew to even stand a chance
  • A full crew won't stand a chance

Should it be heavy, slow and cumbersome? Yes but not to this degree.

My personal advice for flyers, avoid it

My advice for collectors and those who have plenty of money, buy it but it will gather dust.

But that's just my honest opinion.

I love the look of this thing, but it's so expensive and so utterly sh*tty in terms of functionality(especially defenses, and even worse since I have no friends to play with) that I likely won't buy it until I own everything else I want to own in the game and have money to spare, which will probably be a reaaaaaally long time.

Surprised this wasn't pointed out or posted by anyone before. The textures for this have a "In Soviet Russia" easter egg; "In Soviet Russia, seat ejects you"

Note: I'm not the one who originally found this. This was found by someone else (forgot who, sorry :c) at launch.

EDIT: Found out who found this originally: it was @Boywond from the Vanillaworks.

Two homing rockets then Boombuska.

Pretty sad when it can't handle the same amount of abuse a racing plane (Alpha) can. This thing should be able to absorb at least 5 rockets...

Fully armored it can only take two homing rockets?

So I assume it can only survive about 3 HE bullets, right?

...Why even bother to take this thing off the ground then? LOL

Not really. Flew a crewmates bombushka just an hour ago. It took two npc plane missiles without blowing up. Sure all engines shut off but i was still able to fly a wide turn and touch down gently on sandy shores airfield. Its fairly controllable without any thrust.

I attempted to barrel roll it and ended up crashing in Paleto Forest, didn't blow it up

Now it is sitting in the Bomb-Bushes

Edit: Okay, it's very durable in crashes. I just slammed a wing into the maze bank tower and crashed into a parking lot and it's still running with all four propellers going

MEH, everybody plays their own way. Besides, I'm waiting to spend my sweet cash on the Batmobile, Hunter & the Nokota

After crashing it, I unloaded a full clip of regular pistol ammo into the side of it, and it caught on fire and will no longer start. :/

Edit: you can belly land it and then take it off without the landing gear deployed, crazy crash resistance, if only it tanked explosions so well.

It will be like the MOC when it first came out. They were rolling all over Los Santos, with the turrets ablaze. Within a week, the novelty wore off, and now it's relegated to a Weapons shop and vehicle storage.
