They're not explosive but the forward guns seem incrementally more powerful than the Mogul's, most npc choppers and cars only weather a few bullets before inoperability and infantry drop with a single hit - I find it more effective than even the B-11 sh*tefarce's incendiary peashooter. I left the rear gun to the single .50 as my Tula is made up as a WW2 courier plane and I've noticed some competent gunners drop cop choppers almost as fast as they do in the Mogul turret, despite the very limited field of fire. Mysterdogg
Hey there everyone! has anybody wonder why is it called "Tula"? I like to document the lore of every vehicle of the GTA series and I'm having serious headaches trying to figure out the reason(s) why R* to used that name. On GTA Wikia it's stated that it comes from a slang word from Chile but I doubt that that's the real reason since it's a too specific term only used there (but also because that wikia is not so trustful). I thought about it being a reference to tularemia or even a geographic location, but well, things are really hard with this one. Some people has even said that since Goose it's used as an slang word for the male genital in Latin-America, the Chilean term could make some sense here, specially when keeping in mind that R* always have that sexual humor. Hope to see any replies soon!
RUFF_inthejungle
My guess - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tula_Arms_Plant I have a 9130 rifle from Tula and it alway comes to mind.
Mysterdogg
@RUFF_inthejungle Yeah! I though about a Russian meaning but what's the relation between any of the many Russian usages of Tula with an American hydroplane? It's interesting because the name seems to come from an Spanish origin.
RUFF_inthejungle
@Mysterdogg The name does seem strange on a seemingly American hydroplane but I always thought it was just a comment on the plane's toughness, versatility or potential origin; the city itself has quite a history and produces a diverse array of military material. The Spanish meaning of "canvas rucksack" would also make a lot of sense.
Mysterdogg
Yeah @RUFF_inthejungle, both make sense when we think of a multipurpose plane like this one, even the description has some cues from both meanings, the duffel bag & "Russian" Tula. Although I'm still having the sexual reference in mind I will use your guess as the base for my documentation, thanks! RUFF_inthejungle
RUFF_inthejungle
There's always that, especially when landing in a particularly narrow stream.

Mach1bud
Funny this just got bumped, I took mine for a spin last night for the first time in months. Probably my favorite aircraft. I like it because it actually feels vintage. The mechanical noise it makes when switching modes makes me so f*cking happy. Pedinhuh
This is brilliant! One of my favorite airplanes to just fly around now, right next to my Bombushka, Rogue and Pyro...I didn't bought it earlier because the price tag was too high, I had to wait for a discount. And it truly is a Swiss army knife like it says on the descrption! You want a vintage, Duck-Tales propeller airplane? You got it. You want a Bomber? You got it. You want hidroplane? You got it! You want a tactical troop mover that seats 5 players? You got it! You want a fast take-off airplane with JATO? You got it!!!!! You want a goddamn VTOL airplane that can land anywhere? You f*cking got it!!!!! Dear Hydra....EAT YOUR HEART OUT! Seriously, only fault of this thing is that I can't somehow shove a vehicle in the back of it and make it my carrier, but of course that's not possible, there's no room for it and I got the Bombushka for that anyway. Mach1bud
Yeah it really is one of the best vehicles in the game imo. Makes me want to load up and fly it. RyuNova
I did it, I bought one. It being on sale and ludicrous amount of money to be made forced my hand. Do I regret it? Nah, it's a fun little toy and an absolute joy to just fly around in. The one thing I do love is just how absurd it is, this massive flying plane just gently touching down like a helicopter. Maximummoist
Love the plane and its crazy versatility, did used to have coast guard livery and colours but it was too bright for me so I went with air emu The jato is great you don't have to go into vtol to take off from anywhere 1bbaxter, Cognoscenti, Carrythxd and 3 others

Lotte
the setups for this new heist really ARE the ideal use case for this plane, and thats 95% because they make you drive out to the middle of the ocean to start anything Edited January 8, 2021 by Lotte TheFireFlash, RoiRasmus and 1bbaxter
RyuNova
I feel silly now, I forgot this could land on water. Gonna use it for my Sub preps.
AUScowboy
Yep, this and our avian dolphin the Seabreeze are great for collecting caches and certain CPH preps. The Tula is definitely an underrated gem of the SR update, and that's saying a lot because pretty much every aircraft from that DLC is very well made both functionally and model wise. The Tula, Howard and Nakota are some of the best models in the entire game for my money.
