Store Clerks Remember You?

If I remember correctly, early info on GTA Online showed that if you rob a store without a mask, you will automatically get a wanted level for entering the same store if you aren't in disguise.

 

Has anyone had this happen to them? I remember robbing without a mask once, so every time I go to a store I use a mask just in case.

 

I forgot which store I robbed without a mask, but if this thing isn't true about them remembering you, it will save me some trouble

This has never happened to me in all the time I've been playing and I've never once worn a mask or disguise when robbing a store.

no they dont remember you but if you hit the same store multiple times you would get a higher wanted level.

I remember hearing the same thing but instead of giving a wanted level i heard he has a shotgun prepared for the player

Yeah, i heard that too in "List of 100 details in GTA V".

But it never happened to me. Maybe because i never robbed one store multiple times at the short time. Or maybe this thing available only in SP.

Never happened to me but I did go to rob the same store a second time and the clerk was packing heat that time.

to me , it sounds like if you hit the same store multiple times in one session without wearing mask , they'll recognize you and the wanted level gets higher

This. It should be in one session though and finding a new session will reset it.

This was just one of those things they put out there to make it seem like V was super immersive and the AI was crazy. I always wear a mask anyway because balaclavas are kool

I think it's just masks but it's been a while since I used that mechanic.

I HAVE had a clerk instantly pull a gun when I walked in the door without my face covered a shot time after robbing it, but not since 2013. I think this was a feature that was removed early on.

The last few times I tried to rob a store there was no intimidation bar and he dropped an invisible bag that contained $0. All I got was a 2-star wanted level in exchange for some spent ammunition.

The way the system worked (and still works) was that if you robbed multiple stores in the same clothes while in the same session, your would immediately get a higher wanted level, even if you entered the store with no stars.

 

Putting on a mask after robbing several stores would also lessen the chance that you would get this increased star level.

 

You could lose 1 star after robbing stores in a mask and removing it out of sight of the store/police.

 

Whether or not the store clerk is armed has nothing to do with how often you rob a given store and is more based on the RNG gods whims,.
