I noticed earlier upon racing my Oracle XS against one of the high end sports cars around town (unsure which one), that he could push me around very easily, but I couldn't push him much at all. I'm guessing this has something to do with how R* deals with car physics at higher speed (making them heavier to reduce lift?). Also, it seemed that he could endure high speed crashes much easier than my Oracle could. He would crash at near top speed, and then be able to catch back up with his car's acceleration, over and over again. A tiny sports car should under no circumstances be able to muscle a 7 series around on the road.

I think the high end sports cars shouldn't be able to take as much damage as other cars. Most high end cars are built with light weight materials that will be obliterated during accidents (looking at you, Paul Walker). Also, heavily armored cars should lose a nice chunk of acceleration and gain significant weight.

i like my insurgent too much to support this

I imagine the insurgent would have stats between whatever a military MRAP and Humvee would; super durable yet a little sluggish. Would have to have a wider turning radius too. It wouldn't be nerfed or anything like that, since the entire catalog of cars would have to be adjusted accordingly.

Yes, i want balancing so bad in this game. But we'll never have them.

"Maybe next game, folks!"

Yeah, I know it won't happen as far as GTA V/O is concerned, but if enough awareness is raised, and the criticism is constructive, I don't doubt that R* will look to fix these things in future titles.

You got that right, actually.

IMO it's almost time to add different freemode lobbies, maybe one with more realism too. Don't get me wrong I like the constant additions but there are many players who don't play or play alone simply because the game is catered to other types of gamers.

Making separate public sessions would at least give players more choice on the physics, damage models, assists etc without changing the entire game for every player. I know it would split the community even further but the game is changing so drastically that some players who might love the game feel it's gone in the wrong direction. They deserve a decent session separate from the ever-changing "it's GTA" motto.

I wouldn't ever suggest changing the game but I would join a different type of session with different rules / physics / damage etc. At least just to try a different experience.

Lol Rockstar have 'physics' for their cars. Oh you're not joking?

uh hmmmm

So first and for most you have to take in to account that the physics in this game are nothing short of a joke, The physics model has been seriously compromised by two defining factors. The first is the ability to roll your car when it is on it's roof, the second is the ability to roll and dlip your car when it is air born. The fact that Rockstar has a 'car physics; model with these factors built in to it should immediately tell you how compromised the physics engine in the game is.

When it comes to PvP racing though their is another defining factor that determines what happens with your and your opponents vehicles and that's your connection to that other player and yes unfortuantly this is yet another example of Rockstar taking the cheapest easiest method with the net effect being a poorer gameplay experience for the player. Ever seen what happens when a player who is lagging and jumping around hits you? Notice how their car seems to weight about the same as a Neutron Star and your car just gets flipped around like you're driving on ice?

I would have to actually test this, and to be honest I don't care enough any more to waste the time but Iam sure that the quality of your connection to the race host is a key and fundamental factor in the way your car handles, that if you were to drive the same car on the same course with a decent connection vs one with a bad connection you would notice that the car actually handles differently between the two connection states, remember on the PC cars handle differently and have different top speeds depending on your graphical settings, that's how bad the physics model in this game is.

You also have to take in to account that combined with all of this, when Rockstar did introduce at least a half decent physics model to their cars, GTA4, that all it took was for you to get one of the parameters slightly off in the car settings file and you had cars that would flip over when turn corners for no good reason. Now imagine that sort of situation but with a whole host of cars, a whole host of clearly not very well Q and A'd cars and then add in that you aren't just driving round a city but actually driving at break neck speed in amongst a pack of 30 poorly skilled nubs who believe that they are taking part in a round of pre school dodgems and you can see why the vehicle physics in this game are so badly f*cked up at best or working in a world of making the whole thing up on the spot at the worst.

This 2013 game is to old to update its mid-1990's vehicle handling/damage physics and models. I hope next GTA will be a bit more realistic. Doesn't need to be full sim, but some damage would be nice.

Been thinking of this for a long time now. I made a thread about it and it was locked for "bitch & moan" and funneled into the wishlist thread.

I would love to see something like hardcore mode, where cars have realistic top speed, but at insane speeds you're more likely to crash, weapons become stronger against humans and weaker agains't aircraft, and you ragdoll when you get shot like NPCs

I was thinking options like this.

Aircraft>All/None/Peaceful

Vehicles>All/Peaceful

Explosives>All/None/Thrown Only/Street (Pipebomb/Molotov)

Weapons>All/None/Melee Only/Street (Pistols, SMG's, Shotguns, Rifles)

Etc.

I seriously get bummed everytime some cool shootout between people in my car and people in other cars happens during a chase around Los Santos and then gets cut short by sticky bombs. Explosives just cause the whole thing to reset too quickly. Die>spawn>die>spawn. I only play free-aim lobbies, and I love the tactics involved during shootouts. I can get pinned down, or retreat through an alley and live to fight another day. there's something thrilling about that. It gets boring when I take cover behind a car and the car just gets hit with an RPG instantly.

I don't really care to buy a bunch of explosives to play that game because it's not entertaining to me.
