Pinkarella
hey there! I am looking for informations about 3rd party DNS services. Any recommandations? I am absolutely a greenhorn in this and am asking for someone else. Would be nice if someone would help me out on this. Let me know which informations you`ll need. sivispacem
I just use Google DNS. I used to use OpenDNS but switched to Google after a couple of outages they had. Never had a problem and they don't to any DNS hijacking for ad revenues like many ISPs do. Pinkarella
So google DNS is what you recommend. Does it increase speed on Up/ODwnload?
sivispacem
No, and it never will. DNS is just used to resolve the domain you visit, it won't have any effect on download speeds. You may experience marginally faster website loading times though. Pinkarella
I am asking for someone, stationed in Germany with the Air Force. He asked on facebook if anyone had information, so I decided to try help him out. Not sure what this DNS stuff is good for. I just use my PS4 as it is hooked up with a LAN cable. Thank you though for the information.
Jimmy
I've used Google DNS in past. They're decent and have nice uptime as well. OpenDNS isn't reliable anymore.
