GTA IV multiplayer everyone has same health only getting armor gives you more damage resistance. Everyone spawns with same gun in freeroam and yu have to collect gins around the map. If you die you respawn and lose all your weapons.

Main issue (at least for me and all my friends) with GTA 4 mp was auto aim. It was unplayable because of that. If they had to do it they should separate sessions for those. The way it was people either started using it 'cuz you stood no chance free aim vs auto aim or, like myself, stopped playing very soon.

I'm glad it's not an issue in GTA 5.

Progression causes other issues and the game is not balanced (minigun at lv 120 vs lv 10) but then, there is not that much involuntary pvp going on anyway.

I'm not keeping up with console versions of the game, if they didn't exist we'd all be better off.

Can you explain how we would ALL be better off?

No, not really. It would be like explaining to a kid why they shouldn't touch fire. They know it by instinct and if they don't, once they touch it, they won't do it again. Or they will just keep touching it till they burn and we'll have one moron less to feed.

Wow, a truly objective and informative response from the mustardrace there.

I haven't been on a console since my third Xbox360 took a sh*t years ago. I understand his reasoning (not his trolling) for preferring the PC platform. 60+ fps on an ultra sharp screen!! How do you go back to consoles after that experience alone? It's way more expensive, to be sure, but it's worth it to some.

The game balance changed drastically with the GR update...imo it's much better now that the hydra isn't the only OP vehicle.

Hopefully the next update will throw in another competitive threat to mix it up.

You won't ever have a perfect balance in this game but it's good to have multiple apex predators, not just one.

There is no balance....its a game, its not real

people need to get over this "balance" argument, its dead, bit too concerned with "physics" etc....

trust me, if games were super realistic they would be extremely boring.....also every player would only get 1 life

Dude, balance is an essential part of all good game design, from Snakes and Ladders to current-gen AAA titles.

Ernest Adams, Chris Crawford, Al Alcorn, Scott Rogers, and a whole ton of established game designers from companies such as Bullfrog, Atari, Blizzard, Valve and yes, even R*, preach this (see my Verified LTS map 'Bowl Brawl LTS' - they mention it in the first sentence of the description)... It's a well-known part of fundamental game design. I know this and I appreciate this, because it is what I do for a living.

Do not get balance confused with realism (in a similar sense that immersion is not the same as realism). There is very little place for realism in games beyond the most hardcore of simulations - because agreed, reality is boring when directly translated into "gameplay" - but there is ALWAYS need for balance.

Otherwise you will get dominant strategies, less replay value and the illusion of choice that ultimately amounts to nothing. Games quickly stagnate and people eventually stop playing if balance isn't taken into consideration.

Edit: Sorry LL, I don't mean to get snippy... I just gotta weigh in on the rare occasions I have a semi-educated opinion to give :D

I used to fight players in freemode until they added moving while sniping which ruined sniping and than moving insanely fast in first person with the marksman rifle.

Any multiplayer game needs to be balanced fo the game to be fair for all players. Not going to deal with rockstars incompetence for not balancing the game. Not my fault they lack one of the basic essential things for a multiplayer game.

Also GTA IV autoaim is better than GTA v autoaim. GTA v you hold L2 barely move right thumbstick and hit the fire button and get a headshot. plus the bs rolling every time your shot. In GTA IV it was harder to get headshots since you had to control how aimed fir headshots. Pushing up all the way on the thumbstick you would shoot above there head and if you didn't aim high enough you wouldn't get a headshot.

You don't create game balance by adding more unbalanced things. Unfortunately, Rockstar has done a lot of the latter, which means they've given up on the former. I just don't see that changing.
