so currently the oppressor and a selection of explosive resistant ground vehicles are king, along with the infantryman who is able to counter almost all other vehicles with smallish arms. air vehicles just randomly explode these days.

 

do you think this will change? i can't imagine prop planes being able to accomplish anything, and even the jets. but the hunter might rule the map if it has any resistance to explosives.

There has been no balance since Hydra came out, so...

i agree. it's more like the sorry excuse of balance in gta after the update discussion topic.

nothing will change. the hunter will not be a real threat, just like the savage. if it's out in the open, it'll just be an easy target. explosive sniper will still be king... sadly.

Insurance for destroying someones vehicle was removed few months ago (shortly after the cheat with people spawning their vehicles on you and destroying them causing you to pay enormous amounts of money for that). Insurance for destroying your own vehicle is still there but I wouldn't say it's an issue.

 

The real balance issues are mk2 weapons that not everyone has and armored and weaponised vehicles which even the best players will have problem dealing with solo.

I'm not keeping up with console versions of the game, if they didn't exist we'd all be better off.

In my game there is no insurance. Frankly insurance was idiocy from the beginning. Paying for destroying an armored kuruma or difference in prices eg. I would pay 20k for destroying a super car, they would pay 150 for destroying my muscle car. I'm glad it's gone, hope it wont come back.

In loading screen messages its written "armor" about things available in the new hangar, Hunter may have flares, so other helicos may have flare upgrades available too. I guess R* is going to lock the proper helicos overhaul via a new Random Research Paywall.

 

My guess is the game will allow us to buy bullet-resistant armor for Savage, where it should be default armor ofc. Upgrades should be new ballistic equipements, things related to radar, counter measures against guided missiles...But R* Logic.

We don't either. These things usually are quickly patched, and we can fully enjoy our game again. At proper fps.

Patches could be much more frequent to get rid of cheats (tho I never really met any serious cheaters and none at all lately) if r* could actually patch the game instead of waiting for m$/sony to let them due to their idiotic policies regarding patches.

But... as much as I'd like to wage a war in this matter cuz it's always hilarious how people can come up with non-existent pros of consoles it's offtop.

 

Regarding balance, helis need a buff especially savage - more armor and maybe flares once per minute or so. Jets are imo ok where they are cuz it's a matter of skill (I for example suck with jet fighting but I can snipe a pilot with enough luck). With new vehicles, ability to run away from missiles is less of an issue. Gunrunning vehicles suck mostly due to the fact that you can't do much alone with/against them and timely (to say the least) research is a bs. Prolly gonna be bad with smuggling but at least they should be solo friendly and maybe the mk2 (when researched...) explosive ammo will balance that.

Judging by the trailer any drops whether for supply runs or sell missions must be done in low altitude. The homing launchers are very much an issue then, the explosive sniper is a threat that has just made it into the game recently and is hidden behind a huge paywall. However I agree it is an issue, like a lot of other weapons.

low flying generally does help with both in some places, with low buildings that block sight lines although only if the planes have some resistance to damage, unlike the savage which smokes the moment someone fires a shot.

I thought this was initially done to prevent the game from being pay to win. You could argue that this is unfair, that experienced players have an advantage towards non-experienced players. However that is how it works in most multiplayer titles that have some sort of progression system.

All dlc items were introduced without a rank requirement, that balancing aspect was gone then. It would have worked more evenly if matchmaking would try to match by rank predominantly.

Although I have spent a fortune on Shark Cards I will not be getting my wallet out for these. Balance in the game has gone so far into the realms of chaos that the game is a giant cluster ***k.

In a game were everyone drives around in explosive resistant vehicles these new aircraft are cool but pointless. And the explosive sniper makes anything not explosive resistant pointless.

I'd say the problem lies with the Explosive Sniper and Oppressor but what ya gunna do? I'd like to see how R* could balance it out but would they even?

GTA IV multiplayer everyone has same health only getting armor gives you more damage resistance. Everyone spawns with same gun in freeroam and yu have to collect gins around the map. If you die you respawn and lose all your weapons.

 

GTA online was and still is pay to win. Buy a tank in the beginning you were unstoppable. Rocket launcher not unlocked until rank 100. Tank buyable at rank 75.

GTA IV multiplayer didn't have any sort of progression system, so it's only logical everyone starts out with the same abilities.

 

 

GTA online was and still is pay to win. Buy a tank in the beginning you were unstoppable. Rocket launcher not unlocked until rank 100. Tank buyable at rank 75.

That statement is quite contradictory, if you couldn't buy a tank until a certain rank, you could buy all the shark cards you want and still weren't able to dominate a session without playing the game extensively to reach the required rank.

i must say that's something that's really pissing me off at the moment, and that was ever since the homer became common let alone this new stuff. i literally never drive my collection of 45 sports cars. it's just insurgents and apcs all the time.
