  1. 1. Has This Happened to You? If so, have you been wiped before?

    • Yes it has, I also have had money wiped before
    • Yes it has, but my money has never been wiped before
    • No it hasn't and I have never gained illegitimate funds
    • No it hasn't, even though I have illegimately gained funds
  2. 2. Was the removed money partly illegitimate or completely legit?

    • Partly illegitimate (including modders, dupes, glitches, etc)
    • Completely legitimate
    • Not affected
  3. 3. What system are you on?

About that broughy guy..

It doesn't matter what he's done for the community (though what I've heard is positive, providing lots of vehicle information) when it comes to punishments like these. Doing anything that is obviously cheating or is clearly not intended to be done like the seemingly tolerated money glitching can always be grounds for punishment by any developer. If you don't have a perfectly clean record of never "modding", using money glitches, exploits and in the case of accidentally receiving illegitimate funds immediately notifying Rockstar then they would logically be justified to punish you.

Wether that punishment is proportionate to the crime or even in time is another thing altogether.

I'm not saying that people doing these things should be banned or have their money taken away. Anything that doesn't harm the community is fine by me as a consumer. But if I was a developer then wether or not my game was a grinding hell, I would not want to (appear to be) tolerating cheats, glitches, exploits or anything like that. Maybe it's because I'm old fashioned but it muddies the waters and creates complications. My point is that again, I as a GTA:O player have no problem with someone else glitching for tons of money (preferably not then using that fortune against me in the form of say, orbital strikes on my virtual person) but whenever ANY of us make the choice to put a spot on our otherwise clean records, we're choosing to accept the risk of actions being taken against us by the makers of the game.

All that was only regarding people who, however little, have done something to gain any amount (1 dollar or 99 billion dollars, whatever) of illegitimate in-game funds.

Obviously if you're absolutely sure you've never done anything of the sort including things like afk'ing jobs or whatever, your lost money is something that should be investigated. It might not be real life money, but it's real time you put into acquiring it so noone can just take that away without a good reason. Just want to make sure that when we're making claims of innocence, we're not overlooking or forgetting "that one time when.." we may have done something we shouldn't have.

EDIT: To make a quick real life comparison: if you're driving on the highway and you're going a "modest" ten kilometers per hour over the speed limit, I don't think that's horrible behaviour that warrants extreme punishment. But you ARE still breaking the law and subject to a fine as a result of it. Public opinion matters little then, if you don't want to risk getting pulled over and receiving a fine at home thanks to a speed camera, you stay at or under the speed limit. Hope that helped.

Well even IF you tell Rockstar that You received modded money they don't care as the money is supposed to be removed during the next automatic sweep. And I don't doubt people get caught in the crossfire there. Broughy has been pretty Open about this and tried to have money removed a few times, but... Yea.

Also, to be honest, if I got a million dropped on me without being able to Stop that (which was possible with the CEO Payment trick)... well, I wouldn't have the nerve to run around with 1m untouched for 2 months when there's a car I Really want (for example).

You know how nice the days After the dommsday update have been? I haven't run into a single scriptkiddie yet and I love it. If Rockstar didn't f*ck up so unbelievably bad with their anti cheat I would have even bought shark cards prior to Smugglers for finally delivering what I really wanted..

But nah, they dug that "grave" themselves. When cheaters even come forward and say how it's weird their obviously modded accounts never even got touched you know something's wrong.

I got pinged 13 million also, probably Orbital cannon related, I thought it might happen with the cannon as the money didnt show up in the stats anywhere. The correction was pretty much to the dollar accurate though so that's a positive as far as the adjustment code goes.

CrysisAverted

The other possible reason: his videos prevent players from getting new vehicles (with bad performance) and spending money on sharkcards as a result.

Nah R* just nerfs the old top performers so the newly released ones seem good, then on the next update changes the stats again. All these stat changes are just promoting buying shark cards so you can afford every car in the game because with R* you never know which car will be the fastest.

It doesn't matter what he's done for the community, when it comes to punishments like these.

If you're popular enough, whether you glitch or mod, R* will invite you to their livestreams anyway

I would not want to (appear to be) tolerating cheats, glitches, exploits or anything like that.

f*cking R* though, they patch money glitches within hours but

Wall breaches still present from 2013

Literally patch the money glitch portion but leave the free orbital insta kill bullsh*t going just fine

They cant patch the free orbital strike because if you are paying 750k you have to get the kill. Disconnection or the player leaving happens a lot in this game so the money save has to happen after the kill. Thats just going to be something we live with in a post orbital cannon game.

Out of curiosity I logged into a modded account I don't use, it doesn't have much money and has never done a glitch. Last time I logged into it was to pickup various Rockstar bonus money which was as far as I can remember 400k of bonus's. Well.. Funny enough that account has been adjusted -400k. Work that logic out :]. All my other accounts are ok but there's definitely been an adjustment sweep on PS4.

I didn't do the orbital cannon glitch so my account seems not being affected. But I feel not safe on console now knowing sooner or later R* will make mistake and remove money on any account legit or not.

So these latest wipes are glitch/ Orbital Cannon related unless anyone's been wiped that hasn't done anything?

rockstar decided to take 500k off me after lying about a free orbital cannon shot.

as if the 900k wasn't enough to get 1 free shot

My thoughts.

If they can make big errors in judgment regarding legitimate gamers, without even a word/response.

Concerning. Many have invested heavily now. Time or money.

To fall foul of mistakes, shameful.

(Haters: I'm aware of the prison mentality of 'they're all innocent').

I logged on earlier to a black screen and my heart sunk, but it was a credit of 300k for some reason. Seems unwarranted and fishy, so I half expect to see it removed later down the road... PS4 here.

What is this orbital cannon glitch thing?

It was an exploit where you could disconnect from online after purchasing the orbital strike and be credited the cost of the strike as well as having your original cash intact thereby making 500-750k each time in profit.

It seems that rockstar wiped out the money gained from this but it seems like you really had to abuse it to have been struck down

I read seven sins the guys that hit it like 5 times didn't get a wipe, but I did it about 20 times and got the adjustment :0. How much is really abusing it :? I only started doing it about 5 minutes before the patch. If I had of seen it a day earlier 200 mil was on the cards.

Eff Cockstar, they tried to put the kibosh on people selling molded accounts cheap, so they could basically sell it for more. Total joke, eff them.

Did the cannon glitch a bunch and bought several new vehicles then had 10 mil left. The pop up said they took -20 million but it only went to $0. I still came out ahead overall

Anyways there's a new safer one now so on my eat back up ;)

Did R* implement some new detection system on console with the doomsday heist? Seems strange that they suddenly crack down on people using/abusing the orbital glitch. There's been better or more effective glitches in the past, haven't it? Like swap character, creator, edit* etc? Thought about buy everything for free but you don't get the money instantly there like this one

*Edit: $10k capture jobs..

Is R* still using the detection system, where the system alerts to deposits at a million or more?

If so, it would seem slow & smaller deposits would be key to still avoiding it.

that system never existed in the first place. what kind of idiot came up with this rumor? it doesn't matter if you bank the money or not. they can see it. it's in your account anyways.

I'll have to do some searching then, recall seeing that claim on here about a year and a half ago.

Just some type of flag system where if a certain amount or more of new cash is deposited, R* gets notified, then they check to see what you've done.

So if someone dupes some high end cars & sells them, then pops in like 4 million in a deposit, it gives them a heads up of possible exploiting methods.
