  1. 1. Has This Happened to You? If so, have you been wiped before?

    • Yes it has, I also have had money wiped before
    • Yes it has, but my money has never been wiped before
    • No it hasn't and I have never gained illegitimate funds
    • No it hasn't, even though I have illegimately gained funds
  2. 2. Was the removed money partly illegitimate or completely legit?

    • Partly illegitimate (including modders, dupes, glitches, etc)
    • Completely legitimate
    • Not affected
  3. 3. What system are you on?

Or maybe, (I know this is crazy) have realized there's been a mistake and they are reviewing their options on how to solve it.

Oh look, there goes a flying pig.

Godspeed piggy.

I was thinking the same thing. There is a certain amount of level 20 Dindu Nuffins with "plox gib bak 50 mil" after every wipe so naturally everyone gets the finger at first, bot replies, tickets closed etc. At some point they had to notice the influx of claims from players with legit stats, screenshots to back the claims and so on. So now they are working on a solution or they allready have it and are just waiting to see how much of the playerbase is nice personed enough to still go for shark cards...

I guess rockstar just went into hibernation after this update because my ticket is still open after 3 days.

So, I checked in today after an absense of about a month to at least have a look at the new update, only to discover that R* have arbitrarily docked my account by $2151000. What makes this so incredibly jarring is that if I'm not in an invite-only session, then I'm in a lagged solo one, so there is absolutely no possible way that I could have had money dropped on me.

So much for giving R* one more chance. f*ck this noise.

Same. Did no duping either. No glitches, no nothing.

Edit: Come to think of it, maybe they are penalizing players for grinding in lagged out lobbies?

So has nobody at all had any of their money returned yet, or still no official response from Rockstar?

Nope, no money back and both tickets got closed with the standart: "your money was illegal, f*ck off", answer (the second one 5 min after submiting it).

It truly is awful how they've have handled this so far. I had my money wiped last Friday, but I see more people are still being wiped as of today. They could at least make some kind of statement about this, or just anything really.

I guess all people can do is keep on sending Support tickets/contacting them, I've about lost all hope of getting the money back at this point, I mean it's been almost a week for me. Maybe I'll send one more ticket or something.

That's difficult to prove in either direction, although the thought did cross my mind, in which case they'd need to dock me a hell of a lot more than $2.1m.

If that is the case though, then this game is dead to me.

Well, they have stopped sending me email notifications of when they reply and close my tickets, but I still check daily and still make new tickets. I recommend everyone affected keeps on putting pressure on them. They are in effect stealing from us by doing this.

It's got nothing to do with that. All the cash i've earned in the last couple months was made in "normal" public sessions, yet i was robbed of almost 19m.

Just to note, some of us are in third World countries with poor internet. Up until recently I only had a 2mb download line. When there are many people on a server I get shoved into private session. In my opinion, it would be even more ridiculous if you get penalised for this.

Registered just to post this.

I'm a PC player. Got 2.8 million taken away and was left with "just" about 1 million. Like many others, I now can't afford anything coming into this new update.

I never modded, cheated or glitched. Have always taken pride in playing the game fair.

I always change sessions as soon as possible if a modder shows up (a sad reality of "fleeing" to "stay safe" even tho we have done nothing wrong) and last time a modder managed to drop money on me before I had a chance to leave was before the Gunrunning update.

Like many others I sent in a support ticket when I found out Rockstar took money from me. My initial reaction was that something must have gone wrong with their system for detecting "illegitimately gained in-game money", especially since the sum they removed pretty much matched what I made grinding the 2x IE-bonus.

The support ticket was answered with the typical copy-paste about "illegitimately gained in-game money" to which I replied and demanded they checked their systems for errors as I am 100% sure the money they took was earned by honest gameplay.

Just got this answer:

AUGUST 30, 2017 07:59 PM

Hello,

We checked your account and confirmed that it was appropriately adjusted to remove modded funds and that no unspent Shark Card purchases were adjusted. Please note that further violations of our EULA or Code of Conduct may result in temporary or permanent bans from GTA Online. You can find more information at

www.rockstargames.com/eula
www.rockstargames.com/conduct

Best regards,

Raymond R.
Rockstar Support

Not only do they continue to claim the removed money was "modded", they also threaten that "further violations of our EULA or Code of Conduct may result in temporary or permanent bans from GTA Online.". My reply to this one got auto-closed.

Being treated this way by Rockstar is a real GTA motivation killer. Being an old timer with limited game time I will focus on something else from now on. I have bought my last Rockstar game, that's for sure.

Such an awesome game, such a poor support... TBH, I don't think we'll ever see one single penny of our fairly earned, but stolen cash back. This is getting the ignore treatment and that taken money will translate into more cashcards in their eyes...

I also took pride in playing legit and working/grinding hard for my stuff, but that went out the door when I got hit by that false sweep. It completely ruined my gaming experience within GTA online... I love the game to bits, but now, what can still do without constantly fearing I'll get hit again after a good grind.. :(

This just sucks... But it is what it is... When someone gets a good result wrt tickets, I'll file a new one, but for now... I have better things to do than shout at a deaf wall... :(

Get ya act together, Rockstar... Your loyal players deserve better... :(

They closed my ticket after a copy/pasted response despite asking for a human response.

Lets try being a bit more forceful with my second ticket:

"Hey. You closed my ticket without talking to me (except to give me a copy/paste response).

I am going to be as polite as I can, but frankly I am insulted by your response.
You have wrongly taken money from my account. (Read Request #11233337 for more details)
I need you to have a proper look at this or else I will escalate this further.
I have never received modded cash nor have I used glitches to gain cash, I never play with other players outside of my family and close friends so no modded cash has gone near me. You took millions of my hard earned cash right after I completed criminal masterminds. I looked at the article you linked and my account does NOT fall under that list of possible reasons for this.
You respond to me properly or I will make sure you're properly investigated for your shady actions. This is quite frankly disgusting business practice and borderline extortion. You do NOT take my money and tell me I can get it back if I pay real money for Shark Cards.
Strained Regards"

What a horrible experience this has turned out to be.

I got about $30 million dropped on me last night. I spent every cent of it and then bought a $5 fishcard to keep things above board lol.

They just gonna laugh it off and copypaste you again. There is no R* support. Its a bunch of programs not connected to humans. Gotta call them to speak with a human.

No doubt, but I'll just keep trying.

Just posted a negative review on Steam due to this (first time for me), hopefully more people follow suit. Maybe they'll start to listen once the game goes back to mostly negative reviews.

Can't; if you call them you'll just get an automated message.

I do agree that R* will shrug when reading idle threats. They'll probably close a ticket with threats, no f*cks given.

I have no doubt they have protected themselves through their EULA and they have plenty of money and lawyers to join someone in court, only to have that someone lose and ending up paying for the costs as well. We can't do anything else than be polite to their support, keep trying and hoping media will pick this up so to put more pressure on R*.

But I doubt the media ever will, because even though there are probably over a thousand players affected, only a fraction seems to be speaking out.

And they closed my ticket behind my back. No reply or anything. *sigh* Well, time to make a new one.

stealth money is the answer guys

You mean that because of stealth money rockstar corrected the bank accounts or stealth money is the answer to the problem and refills the bank accounts?

Wow. They've ignored a dozen of my tweets (over hours) so I made a new account and just asked for generic help and they replied within 5 minutes.

Their support is atrocious.

That doesn't make sense, I get costantly put in empty lobbies or with very few people (not "intentionally" lagging out) because my internet upload sucks, they can't punish me for that, it would be ridiculous.

Still can't believe there has been no 'official response' despite it being so obvious that clean players have been caught up in this.

Nobody tried the 'email the CEO route'?

Obviously they won't respond directly but a lot of companies have a minion who deals with emails directly to the directors as regular complainers usually bypass support and email the highest ranking member of the company they can find an email address for.

If anybody has a human response from this route sharing the contact on here might give people somewhere to direct their frustration.

Marcos post could still do with a boost too, only 68 upvotes so far https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/it/community/posts/115007352527-Looks-like-Rockstar-anti-cheat-did-a-mess-again

His email should be [email protected] though he hasn't replied to me yet, but he might if enough people email him.

I really don't want to have to get a train to Edinburgh to have to get a human response, I don't have that much free time.

So they closed my ticket as well... the same automated respond like everyone else.

Even tho I started it with "Please DO NOT close this ticket before reading it! Don't give me an automated respond without propellery addressing the issues. I need to talk with a real human being, not a bot."

I don't think they doing sh*t about it tbh...

Sounds like gtaonline died for good this time. It had to die at some point... I should expect it would end in a big dumpster fire.

- Why play this game if all your hard work could disappear at any time with no explanation?
- How could you even buy shark cards at this point?

It's literally safer to cheat then play there game

So he won't be answering directly but there will be someone who reads those emails if the address is correct. There will be similar email addresses for the head of each department etc that will be read people. Every 'robbed' player emailing the right address will raise the issue if it has been overlooked.

As for the human response I meant not an automated template, pretty sure you knew that though. :)

All the best getting your money back, happy to back any positive action put forward in this thread.
