Anyone tried the Video Standards Council before? Seems the ideal place for complaints but their website is a bit confusing regarding whether they're there to protect companies or consumers. Sent them a quick message to ask if they're in a position to accept consumer complaints (waiting on response) but if anyone has previous experience with them, it would be useful to hear about it.

Out of the 340 people who have voted 161 of them have had their money wiped. This is a pretty big issue. 47.35% have been affected!

Out of the 4 sessions....there were 3 to 4 people speaking out on how much money they were wiped out of. They were very candid. Some say it was modded cash plus legit. Some say all legit cash and most were ok with the modded money being wiped but were pretty upset about their entire account being gone.

I had legit 63millions, they took away 16 millions. I still got 47 millions, which is a lot. I do not got a money problem now but they need to know there is a bug in their illegal cash tool/script or whatever it is called.

It effects a lot of players who did nothing wrong. I try to tell them about, but all I get is this:

Out of the 4 sessions....there were 3 to 4 people speaking out on how much money they were wiped out of. They were very candid. Some say it was modded cash plus legit. This is player behavior that makes no sense to me and probably the reason why R* don't give a f*ck. People who had legitimate money stolen from them are still playing the game? If you genuinely lost money for no valid reason, why would you go back online to earn some more which they can again take away from you for no valid reason? Having real cheaters and liars jump on the bandwagon isn't helping the real problem legitimate players are facing..

One problem with this situation is isolating the cause. I'm sure everybody who has had their money wiped share something in common.

 

Most players are on PC

1-Some players claim that they reported every single accidental money injection to R*. So, we can assume that it's not related to money drops.

2-Some players didn't glitch out to solo public session, so it shouldn't be a factor as well.

 

3-What about being AFK while watching the bunker security cameras?

4-What about refilling your ammo for free in custom deathmatches?

 

 

 

1-yes its barely 1.5Mio cheated and 8.5Mio legit was removed

2- Yes I did, I made massive sales solo(900k per run) before and during the GR double event. But here I'm talking about more than 30Mio, not 8.5. Numbers doesn't match

3-check. I was AFK 90% of the time, just playing to sell.

4- I don't play custom deathmatches.

5-from 15/07 to 21/07 I made 10Mio with Gunrunning double even+12Mio when I passed my CMM+8.5Mio from 22/07 to 25/07(RIP 8.5Mio). But these 8.5 Mio were made in full crowded crew controlled lobbies+VIP jobs in regular invite-only and normal random public lobbies, so that not related to solo lobby practice.

I read the thread and almost everyone admits that they got illegitimate money at some point one way or the other. The odd false positive doesent change the fact, that players who did wrong things are getting punished right now.

I agree with you. I am waiting for this issue to be resolved before I resume playing. If it is not resolved, I'm done playing this game and will report them to the BBB. I lost 50.25+ million (almost everything) after grinding for ages and didn't spend much. I wanted to have enough to cover for future DLCs and get the APC and other special vehicles that I didn't buy with Import Export and Gunrunning. It does not make sense putting any amount of time into the game if you will have legitimately earned in-game money removed. I also don't like to admit it, but I also bought several shark cards in the past when they had bonuses, but none in the last couple months.

It's really annoying. They're putting a dampener on what should be a great update for a lot of people. I hope they fix this quickly and give people their money back.

Yea... I haven't touched the game either since friday.

It has several reasons. For one, why would I let myself get screwed over and then keep playing? To get money for the update? Please.

Secondly, IF they decide to look into it after all, it's not gonna help that I have a few hundred new transactions on top.

Third, who's to say I won't get wiped again?

 

If every affected Person would stop playing until Rockstar says/does something about it in the next week, it would've surely send a bigger message.

I've almost always 99% played in a private lobby. All the stats that I have are correct. I haven't encountered any modders or money drops on me because I lost all my money to a mod menu user over 16 months ago. I then spent all my time in an invite only lobby doing lots of jobs. When Import Export came out I started to exclusively do fortified, transporter, stockpiling, and sightseer. Besides that, I've sold over 3500 sand king xl's and maybe 200 dubsta 2's. Those stolen cars are all accounted for in my stats. It even shows that I brought Simeon 236 vehicles.
The amount taken from us seems to be Import Export VIP work. The stat is nowhere to be found. They may have taken modded money as well. But, I did not have any. I made approximately $59 million doing these missions.

That is what every genuinely wronged player should be doing. If someone is back in the game grinding after complaining about an adjustment, they must know exactly why they had an adjustment, it was valid, and now they're avoiding what they did to get that adjustment. How else could you have the confidence to keep playing?

 

Instead of trying to work out excuses for R* and complaining to a support system that is hostile, we need to focus on a better place to address our complaints. Developer is in UK, Owner/Publisher is in US. There are industry standards and rating systems in both countries. Is anyone familiar with those so we can discuss which organization would be the best target?

How do you fix something quickly if you use an automated bot response and shut down peoples tickets.

Even the laziest customer support would notice this trend, and even the laziest community manager would see this popping up on GTA Youtubers accounts and twitter accounts.

 

I imagine there'll be more innocent casualties and legit money deleted. Maybe once we hit 70% affected R* might finally act.

I can't believe some people are seriously so stupid to believe that everyone who kept playing after getting fined is obviously guilty. I, for example, was lucky enough to lose little more than a single million, and that did not stop me from continuing my programmed grinding until Smuggler's run drops. And if there was any risk that Rockstar may fine people again before it does (which I highly doubt since R* finings are always programmed), I may still lose legit money, even if the amount they fined was modded.

Well im not even sure if I will be. Got 3,3 Million out of my 8 Million left and I know for a fact that this money gets spend on tuesday. They cant remove what aint there.

But I guess the sinfull forum will present me some ways to get my stuff back if Rockstar is not able/does not want to fix this sh*t.

Well this leads me to some conclussions that (at least for me) makes sense.

First all of this is most focused on PC, like the last time, it happened in a weekend so this is not solved until the next week, even more if we considering the fact that they dont love PC so much, so they dont even try to fix their mess on the weekend. In a console probably they would go extremlly quick to solve because they have to deal with sony/microsoft and their players, pc is more on their own.

Second, most of the cases registered was player that never cheated, anything wrong in them was made by another person (modders most likely), or they have been using the double money events for they purpouse, get tons of money.

And third, there is no way to prevent or avoid a wipe (at least knowed), but there is a way to minimize them. As i readed a couple pages ago, R* takes your money "illegitimate" earned from you bank account but they dont touch your items purchased with that money. My recommendation: if you feel you can be the next victim of R* greed, put your money on cars, you dont recover the full amount but after selling them, you can get atleast half of the original amount, its not the best way but at least makes the wipe softer.

Also if you get wiped is putting tickets until they notice the mess they made.

Btw im on the xbox one, didnt got a wipe yet but who knows, im affraid maybe im the next...
