The money that I did earn with solo public before gunrunning (a bit over 3 million) is still on my account, while the money that I earned with double money events (double on sumo/slasher) and doing headhunter in public (that adds up to around 4, 8 million) got removed.

I honestly have my doubts that the reason for the whipes is people playing in solo public.

Solo public sessions are impossible to detect as far as I know, and they can be created without player's intention. How many times have I been kicked out from a public session due to internet connection problem or game just deciding to kick me out? As for port blocking method, your modem or system firewall could possibly block particular ports without your involvement as well. R* can't prove you did or did not block them manually, and can't prove your temporary disconnection or gta5.exe process suspension were intentional.

 

That being said, I barely played GTA Online last few weeks - Gunrunning really discouraged me to do anything in game, I consider it to be a disaster of an update. I've logged in yesterday for the first time since 15th probably, I remember Hydra was on sale that day. I also did not earn anything back then. Today's the first day when I actually play and do some exports.

 

Upvoted your thread, Marco. Also, an hour or so ago I've received an automated reply from a R* employee/bot, redirecting me to this pointless helpdesk article updated day or two ago. Replied to it stating my problem is not why or if R* is wiping out illegal money, but they've probably erased my legally hard earned cash. I'll let you know when they respond again.

Most people here seem to complain that they used money glitches/hacks/encountered modders months/years ago, or that they used solo public sessions to grind money. Not too surprising that they get wiped, but IF quite a lot of people who never did any of this got there money wiped then this will be a bug and probably fixed.

Well many have not used solo pubs & never had modded cash, but still had the sweep, not really sure that earning money in an empty session would be regarded as cheated money to be honest seeing as it's often something people can't control..

The thing is, there is a reason a lot of people starting using solo public sessions and that was the modders. On the PC, not so long ago, you had a period when modders were resetting your rep, you money, you awards, etc, basically ruining peoples accounts they had potentially spent hundreds of hours levelling. So people went to solo public sessions to protect themselves and still earn money (since invite only sessions do get tedious with limited gameplay).

To now take that money away would seem very harsh, especially since it took so long for Rockstar to fix a lot of the behaviour that was going on. It would have been simpler for Rockstar to say "Hey everyone, we are coming down hard on people using empty session from now on, if you use one we shall take your money away from here on".

 

Of course this could still be an error, but I doubt it would be admitted it was even if it was

There is no indication whatsoever that selling in public solo triggered wipes,quite the opposite. I sold all my cars during 2x week in public with my mates, got wiped nevertheless. Kpephera evaded the wipe completely despite the fact she's still rocking 10 mil dropped by modder.

 

And again: there is no way to actually tell if you're solo because of your intent or your ISP/ network admin policy. Get yourself at least basically educated about networking, it's XXI century. Strict NAT, dynamic IPs with idiotic TTL, cheapskate wifi routers with little to none QoS, weather if you're using 3G/4G and anything else may put you solo on a frequent basis. If you have knowledge, that R* is punishing people in solo sessions, do share. Because punishing people with bad net access is wrong.

Why would they ignore that one single glitch? If you glitch you get wiped. Intentional public solo is a glitch-> you get wiped. Simple as that.

I absolutely agree and I dont advocate what theyre doing. Im just stating that they dont want you to play alone.

Ive been in my fair share of heists with complete idiots. I prefer to play on my own as well.
