Gummy
It still leaves a lot to be questioned though. Where did G-Man take Alyx? What is the fate of the resistance and the combine? It's a much bigger cliffhanger than Episode 2's ending.. But this is the Episode 3 and not Half-Life 3, in which Gabe mentioned where the Half-Life 2 story arc will end, but not the whole Half-Life series. I've heard some theories in which the last paragraph, where Gordon wakes up on a shore in an unknown time where almost nobody recognizes him, is not the story itself, rather is an analogy of how Marc sees of the workplace in Valve is right now. Pedinhuh
This outcome of Episode 3 is why we must FIGHT AND put a STOP on micro transactions. Micro transactions are the current form of cancer in the videogame industry, which allow game developers to produce little content for minimal effort and get away with their scummy, borderline illegal ways of making money, depending of the gamers addiction by constantly breaking into their wallets. And Valve, once they tasted that sweet, sweet micro transaction money for minimal effort, started to get lazy and not care about their true fans anymore. I know, their micro transactions are "different" because the items they put behind pay walls are mostly cosmetic, but that is not my point. My point is that, if you, gamer who wants to see your beloved game franchise to keep going on while maintaining it's quality through each new installments, then you MUST not be bought into this bullsh*t. Don't fall into their game, don't buy cash cards of any form in any game, even if you think the content was worth it, chances are that you're wrong and the content you're buying could have been much, much better! Now, I give my farewell to Dr. Freeman, my farewell to this fantastic game series, to the experiences, to the memories and the emotions they have brought, I won't forget them. And even if Episode 3 sees the light of day, I won't buy it, it's too late for that. And to Valve, I give you something that I already gave to EA, 3D Realms, Ubisoft, Konami and so many other devs in the past. I give you my most sincere and honest f*ck YOU!. Rockstar, Santa Monica Studios and Naughty Dog, I still believe in you, don't disappoint me. Edited August 26, 2017 by Pedinhuh
chronic lumbago
@Pedinuh: you talk about microtransactions being the cancer of the industry but you still believe in... Rockstar? Anyways, there's nothing you can do about it. Even if only a handful of people buy something extra they make profit. Developers would be happy enough if 10% of gamers supported the microtransaction bullsh*t. A real "revolt" against it hasn't happened yet, even if it happened I doubt it would change a thing. It's kinda sad because we, the gamers made all those companies rich and in return we get microtransactions and bullsh*t dlc shoved down our throat. Valve knows very well the fans demand the third episode. If it's canceled for whatever reason they should've at least made it official and not make us wait like some f*cking garbage. Pedinhuh
I still believe in Rockstar, even without The Benz in the command of things. Hell, I still play GTA Online everyday, because the game, even with its many, many issues, is a great game on its own. I personally attribute the whole shark card Bullsh*t to Take Two and Zelnick, and I hope that R* one day has the will and power to go independent, they will have my full support if they do.
