Assisted aim

I have currently tried the aims on story mode and online and the aiming is set to assisted aim partial but the aim is just free aim does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

The difference between Assisted Aim: Partial and Assisted Aim: Full is that on the latter, you can switch between targets once you've locked on. If you're playing with a controller, then usually holding down the left trigger all the way will auto-aim on the nearest personnel (whether their enemy NPC or other players), and then 'flicking' the right analogue stick left and right will cycle between left and right targets.

 

If you're playing with mouse and keyboard, either you can't get "lock on" assisted aiming, or there's another option - which eludes me - that needs to be toggled for it.

Are you using a controller or keyboard & mouse?

The session you're joining might be changing the aim type, auto-aim and free aim have separate freemode sessions so it should work if you change it in single player, save the game, then start your own session. If not try entering an auto-aim session then switch it to partial in the settings.

 

Once you're in a auto-aim lobby and you have partial assist chosen it should always put you in the same type of session with your preferred aim type.

I'm using a controller it's on the Xbox one I thought rockstar might have done something with an update as it has only just started happening recently. How would I check if the lobby has only free aim selected or assisted aim. It also happens on story mode which I can't understand?

Check ur settings for Aim.
