jaljax
So many Gta's throughout the year's in the series, but i am curious ... What Gta had the shortest development cycle? I always thought Vice City was the shortest , but idk if that's true or not . But i also think one of these Gta's had the shortest development cycle: LCS,VCS,Advance or CTW . Give you're opinion or a true answer if you'd like.. I'm just really curious lol.
Femme Fatale
I also think VC had the shortest, since it took them about a year to make it. The same goes for VCS, but who knows, maybe they were already making it alongside LCS. Just kept a secret so the media would pay attention to the latter. jaljax, Jeansowaty, Eugene H. universetwisters
Like above says, Vice City. The other thing is that we effectively made Vice City in nine months, start to finish. If you think about it, it came out in October [2002], and although the team were creating 3D models for it at the end of the previous year, it really kicked off at the beginning of 2002. So if you think about what was made in nine months, and then commercially what it went on to be, it was a pretty amazing thing. Source Edited August 21, 2017 by universetwisters jaljax and Eugene H. Paisan™
I think VC. 3 felt longer to complete the story than VC did. jaljax and Eugene H. Krabs
WTFLLama
I think GTA III and Vice City were made concurrently. Probably one of GTA 1's Expansion Packs or GTA IV's spin-off's had the shortest development cycle. jaljax
DOUGL4S1
Probably the London DLCs or Adance, but as a proper main game, I'd say Vice City as well, with maybe a year. Could be more, because it was intended as a DLC to GTA III, so whey were probably developed around the same time. ViceOfLiberty
VC was obviously a quick thrown together map saved by the 80's aesthetic and lighting. I think VC was thrown out there as a result of "What kind of quick project can we pump out to fund the REAL project (SA)? jaljax
jaljax
VC was obviously a quick thrown together map saved by the 80's aesthetic and lighting. I think VC was thrown out there as a result of "What kind of quick project can we pump out to fund the REAL project (SA)? VC was basically a expansion for Gta 3 I think that is another reason why they probably made it quickly and also the map being small is probably another reason why. I think VC. 3 felt longer to complete the story than VC did. Ya Gta 3 definitely seemed a lot longer of a story then Gta VC other then the asset missions with VC Eugene H.
