Hey there! My name is LaRae & I am 34 years old. Have been married 14 years to my husband & we have two boys together (12 & 9). I've always stuck to games like Assassin's Creed & most recently, Destiny. I've never been good at shooter games like Call of Duty but my kids talked me into trying GTA 5 and I'm currently hooked. I'm still learning & getting the hang of this whole new world I've found myself in. I'd love to meet fellow players & enjoy the huge community that is GTA :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Thanks for reading!

Okay, you're new. Lets get down to it. First things first

Join or create a crew, you get a free and fast sports car and some guns that'll help you start.

snacc can be brought at convenient stores and refill your health. You can eat them via the interaction menu.

PRO TIP: YOU CAN AVOID THE EAT ANIMATION BY EATING IN COVER OR WHILE AIMING A GUN. There are no health packs on the map.

Stay out of public sessions or use Passive mode until you're more familiar with the game mechanics and the fan base.

Contact missions are a great way to learn how the game works and can be done by yourself. They also pay a good amount of money.

Don't rush into bike clubs or CEO orgs, usually people engage in those entities.

Don't rush into heists either, they're basically contact missions but with big rewards. However, the slightest mistake will end the job so again, get familiar.

Play forever, that's the real end game here. You will not have the best car or highest apartment tomorrow or next week, this game is a commitment and can be worth it.

I am curious how you learn from your kids? What is their style

LMAO! Yeah, they've shown me a lot. It's sad that my 12 year old is teaching me about GTA... I'm learning though!

Good luck! enjoy your stay, avoid confronting other players until you are at least level 120 and all weapons bought, and even then beware of other people that is also level 120 or higher, especially 300 or higher, those people are really accostumed to the game and will tear you down in seconds, also many will use exploit tactics which you'll come to hate if you play in public lobbies a lot, like strafe sniping, killing themselves before you kill them, and so on.

Enjoy your time as far away from public lobbies as possible at first, or prepare to die a lot.

Hi LaRae! If you ever are on PS4, my crew can show you around and show you how to make the most money! Most of my crew is a fairly older crowd 40s+ (except me) so mostly we play during the weekends. I used to be on like every day, but my play time is going to fall as tomorrow is my first day of Graduate school. See you around

Since you have kids, you might already know this but:

Letting them play solo race playlists is an awesome passive income for you. They make you GTA$ while you are off doing your RL things.

If your 12 yr old is like mine, then he's probably doing heists already. This means even more "passive" GTA$.

Welcome to the Forums! You'll find that no matter what your GTAO question is, the answer is here.
