Ig I'll just catch a livestream For the NYC area, about 70-ish percent of the sun will be obstructed.. so you'll be able to see it for sure. Hullian111
So thats it -- the last solar eclipse to be seen on this continent in this decade. And as I said not until April 8, 2024, will another eclipse be visible from North America. Thats 7 years from now. May the shadow of the moon fall on a world in peace." Flachbau
Didn't really see much where I'm at, just outside of NYC. They said about 70% would be obstructed but I feel like it was a lot less than that.. pretty sure it would have been a lot darker. That being said, the lighting changed a bit and it was a cool experience. Gotta wait a long time to see another decent one.
Sir Michael
Ugh, a f*cking thunderstorm rolled into Goose Creek, SC 30 minutes before totality. I did get to see a part of the eclipse through the glasses, but not the full eclipse. Pretty bummed about it, but it was still cool to experience that. Pat
We were lucky enough to experience almost 2 minutes of the totality, in completely clear weather. We were also smart enough to go to the local elementary school to watch it; there were like, three other groups of people, but from what I saw on Facebook our downtown was packed with people (many of whom were from out of state). Here's a video I recorded: And some still frames from that video: There are a few more in the Imgur album. As well as my own pictures, someone that was downtown in my city posted this really cool picture of our recently renovated art deco era theater with the eclipse in the background: Maxxeine, Audi, Spaghetti Cat and 9 others
t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m
I sat in my car in the Wal-mart parking lot glancing at it through the T-tops. It got a little darker but the sun is so intense that I couldn't make any major difference out. All I did was get sweaty and burn my corneas. D9fred95
I'm bummed because I forgot it was going to happen and I was busy watching Apocalypse Now at the time. I did notice the sky outside becoming duller despite it being sunny and I was like "What?" Somehow that didn't tip me off.
Tokasmoka
It was a cool sight, I was in shorts and a tee shirt and it was pretty chilly here in BC. I was rocking the dual sunglasses and that did the trick. I can't help but think all the biblical wars that were started over stuff like this.
